      For context
      First dunk he did and the dunk contest... The reason it looked cool but it's hard to recognize it first.
      Is that he spun in the opposite direction of a right-handed dunk
      That's something your mind doesn't realize that's what it is, but that's why it looks so different than a regular 360 windmill

    Tracy McGrady is definitely worth a watch. Hall of famer who unfortunately had much of his prime taken away by injuries. He was basically done by the age of 28, but cemented himself as one of the best scorers of his era. He lacked Vince's longevity, but it can be argued that he had a greater peak. He left Toronto to play closer to home and build his own legacy in Orlando.
    Also, T-Mac was one of Vince's opponents in that 2000 dunk contest. If you noticed, he helped him on one of his dunks.

    The early 2000s era is probably my favorite era for NBA basketball. I think it was the purest form of the game. There was players using every play style imaginable and dominating. And the talent was insane. Kobe, Vince, T-Mac, Shaq, KG, Tim Duncan, Dirk, Pierce (my personal favorite), Kidd, Nash, Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Carmelo, AI, and a bunch more all in the league at the same time. I don't think there was ever a time with that many absolute legends in the league at once. Every single one of those guys is/will be hall of famers and it's absolutely deserved.

    As a Raptor fan who lives in the greater Toronto area, VC was a very divisive figure for a long time. The narrative in the media was that he mentally checked out and didn’t really try during his last season here. I think a lot of anger was also building up in that as the only Canadian team, it is hard to keep talented young American athletes here. Tracy McGrady had left 3 or 4 years before and I know it’s another sport, but the Blue Jays have the same issue. I think VC became the “poster boy” for people not liking Toronto, whether that was deserved or not. Fortunately time has healed old wounds and he is again seen as a beloved player by almost all Raptor fans.

    Interviews by Vince Carter over the years and clips here and there from NBA players reveal the organization has a lot to do with injuries. One possible explanation for Carter's injuries is that the Raptors coaching and medical staff did not give Carter time to heal from each injury. If they did not rehab him properly and kept pushing him to play vs New Jersey Nets properly rehabilitating him. That could, in his defense, be an explanation for his resurgence in New Jersey.

I seen Toronto and New Jersey Vince Carter but the younger generations think of Vince as a journeyman…they don’t know the buzz Vince garnered in his prime. Vince was a unique dunker because he could palm the ball, had long arms, and could dunk from many angles. VC is one of those dudes who managed to have such a huge cultural impact on the game that nobody really holds the lack of championships against him the way I’ve seen people do for other players. It doesn’t hurt that he played in four different decades, so most NBA fans are familiar with his game in some way.

    Bit of a fun Easter egg: at 14:44, the man hugging him is Dell Curry...... Steph Curry's Father.
    Mind you, Vince was still in the NBA just 4 years ago. And would still dunk every now & then.

    HALF MAN!!! HALF AMAZING!!!!!! AIR CANADA!!!!! He played with his cousin on the Toronto Raptors as well, Tracy McGrady, who was a phenom as well. A slight step below Vince, but he was a high flyer as well.... Vince could dunk amazingly, but his 3 pt shot kept him in the league for so long. He just retired in 2020.
    -He was injured towards the end of his time in Toronto. You have to remember, not all training staffs across the league is equal. He got better care in Jersey and I'm sure he found others outside of the organization to work with for his after care.

    28:25 it was 108-106 SA and when Vince hit the 3 for Dallas the scorekeeper incorrectly gave 3 points to SA, that's why it reads 111-106 instead of the actual score of 109-108

  • @671oneblood
    @671oneblood 11 месяцев назад

    You pointing out how much space he had on that game-winning 3 was dead on. Not only did he beat his defender, but the defender actually gave up and completely backed off as if he wasn't going to make the shot. Not realizing Vince had one of the most consistent 3-pointers in the history of the game.
