      Drill the front oil galley plugs, it releases air that can build up and add extra oiling to the timing chain and upper sprocket

      @@Savinjunk great. Good trans. By coincidence I'm in England and a RV come up for sale cheap. With a 454 engine in it..I left a comment saying check the engine numbers.. Could be a four bolt main.. that's what the race guys are looking for.. Probably a t 400 in it also.

      @@Savinjunk it's a 1988 coachman classic. Do you think it's got a fourbolt in it..

      @@DanDoge-wp7uj it’s a good possibility. Even if it’s a two bolt; they are still great motors.

    i once saw a blob of stray silicone block an oil port on a crankshaft. Dont ask me how it got there. Also, thanks for reminding me to check for that proper place of balance. There are a lot of changes happening faster than quick these days. It is frustrating. Its easy to forget that we all have flaws. Im eager to see how this project winds up. Take care.

      Yeah I dropped the crank off to get it turned and checked so we’ll see if any crud is blocking that one galley. I’m the same way; we’re so polarized as a country right now it hard to not take the “us vs them” mentality sometimes. I definitely need to check my thinking on a regular basis. Thanks for watching!

    Loved the message about the middle ground. I have been around so many condemning Christians lately and instead of sharing both gods love and mercy only focus on attacking their sins. Great message. Go and sin no more.

    One would think that them would be roller motors

    • @Savinjunk
      @Savinjunk  Год назад

      I think the roller big blocks started with the Mark VI in the mid 1990s

    Its nice to see an engine that isn't going to be an all aluminium big block with ywin turbos, a supercharger or 2, some gnarly fuel injection setup that has to run 117 octane minimum and have you tell us its a budget build, only $783 (plus $37,000 from sponsor donations), or an LS, too many of those too. I am a fan of the 97 454 Vortec though, hands down better than the 8.1

      One of my buddies was trying to convince me to buy a set of aluminum big block heads for $2400. For what? It’s probably going to live it’s life under 3500rpm. Bone stock with a towing cam and an aluminum intake is all I need; I just want the low rpm grunt to push 10,500lbs around without struggling.
