Her relationship with her mom is so wholesome and reminds me of my relationship with my mom! I'm about to start my second year of college and I still love grocery shopping with her every week, and also going clothes, decor, and supply shopping together. It seems like so many college students want to forget about their parents, so it's so nice and reassuring to see how she has such close, healthy relationships with her parents like I do with mine!

My mom always says that a parent knows they did something right when their kid is ready enough to go out into the world and contribute to society. I definitely think the Laeno parents succeeded in that sense. so excited for you Nicole!!!

when i started college, colie began her high school journey and now that i just graduated out of college, shes a college freshman. i feel like such a big sister and im SO PROUD. i'll be off to law school when she embarks on this new journey. i'm so excited to see how beautifully you blossom on this path. sending my love and best wishes!

Be careful. I got too many things my freshman year of college that I hardly ever used. You mostly need, paper, pens, pencils, highlighters, headphones, chargers, cork board and pins, a 3 ring binder, book bag, calculator, planner, note cards, water bottle, laptop, smart tv 32 inch or 43inch unless you use your laptop, bed set, mattress topper and bed risers for extra storage for twin / xl, towels, wash cloths, bathrobe, shower essentials, bathroom essentials, cleaning supplies for bathroom and room, small vacuum for dorm, mini fridge with or without freezer, microwave, snacks cold or dry, storage bins, hangers, toilet paper unless the college provides, laundry detergent, laundry basket, fist aid kit, woman essentials, medicine, command strips NO TAPE OR GLUE!! Desk lamp, plug in twinkle lights to hang pictures and definitely surge protectors not extension cords. You can have a coffee maker in your room just no skillets, or wax melts that might catch on fire!! I do recommend a lanyard for your college ID so you don't lose it. I lost mine once during my college years and had to pay to get it replaced. Youre gonna do amazing!! Make the most out of your college experience Nicole! Nothing but prayers coming your way!

Your relationship with your mom is the cutest 🥰🥰🥰🥰. Like I’m literally the same way with my mom she’s literally my best friend. It’s so hard to see your kids grow up but it’s a part of life. I’m 23 and I still live at my Parents house and I love it 😍. Whenever I move out that would be the hardest thing for me. But anyways I have a feeling that Mrs. Laneo is going to cry. I recommend, reading you syllabus for all classes before first day to know everything you need. It has helped me plan my times and days because usually all courses will provide a calendar for your assignments & exams due dates.

Stay strong colie! The first year may be exciting and all but it’s not. I’m going into my sophomore year and I’m not even ready to go back just yet. To keep track of assignments and due dates I would recommend using notion. It helps with staying organized and staying on top of work for all classes per semester. It helped me a lot and I ended up being more productive within my second semester as a first year student. Also keep all syllabi and look for the section where the assignments are and due dates. A study method that helped me the most was writing things down in my notebook and reading it over and over until I felt ready to take quizzes and tests. If your professors offer quiz or test corrections to get half credit back I would recommend doing them so your grade can be where you want it to be. Take full advantage of everything in order to be successful and have a high GPA. You got this and can get thru your freshman year. I got thru it and so can you. Best of luck this school year and you will do amazing!!!

Gosh I remember ALL the same feelings!!!! I grew up in Hawaii and loved to COLORADO for college! I remember my mom and I running around to set up my dorm. I sobbed like a big ol baby my first night that I slept in my dorm room! My sweet roommate made me a London fog and sat with me in my bed! College is SO fun but definitely a HUGE transition! It was SO much fun getting packages from home!!! It’ll be nice to be able to drive home every now and then! 📓
