Another winner. I just saw the video of the album you got for $28.00. Even the album was in good shape on that one. I love the Black Jack and the Great Britain section in this one.

Great purchase, the little vintage package of 1750 hinges is worth the price of the whole lot. 😂 Just joking, this album has never been searched, otherwise you would have seen some hinge traces. 19:54 If the Berlin overprint 5 Mark stamp is genuine, you got a 150,- $ item. The 1950 London exhibition s/s is a vignette, not a postage stamp. My estimate for the whole album is 250,-/350,- bucks without the questionable Berlin 5 Mark. Not to compare with the previous Stanley Gibbons KG VI album which was a quality collection (worth approximately more than 2 k), but nevertheless a nice buy. Great score, keep it up ! Great info as always... thank you! That 5 Mark Berlin overprint stamp really surprised me... any advice on how to tell if a cancel is genuine?
@@silkontheweb You need a professional expertise because the Berlin red and black overprints are very tricky. Over here in Germany the Schlegel Bros. do this: they check the overprint (the basic stamp is very cheap) and the cancellation.

Wow!! Such a great deal for 35 bucks!!! So many beautiful stamps. I particularly like the British South Africa Company stamps, the China stamps, and further on the Manchuria stamps. Also You’ve got some lovely South American stamps there. Great album, and video.
I think some South American stamps are so beautiful, but I don't know much about them... yet... thinking about putting a stockbook together... thanks for watching!
That brownish stamp from Belgium celebrates the Brussels exposition of 1897. I have the 3 stamp set, but the middle stamp is used.
Some very nice older material! You and I share very similar interests. I love buying older albums and am strongest in US, Canada and Europe.

I spent the bulk of my life in and around Chicago. Mainly south side. Oak Lawn and Alsip, etc.
I love the South American pages so far. I’m planning on focusing on the older stamps of the countries in that continent some time in the future. (I’m quite busy with my Germany and Netherlands albums already though, so it will have to wait a bit 😅👍)
The only concern I would personally have about keeping the collection as is, is that there’s already yellowing stains in the book. It hasn’t spread to the stamps and most of the pages yet, but when it does it might damage them. The spine of the book is also not doing great. I definitely get the sentiment that the collection is really nice as is though. (I’m not really a collector of other people’s collections however, so not sure if something like that matters to someone who enjoys collecting like this.)
Good point... I'll be sure to keep an eye on it... I heard from the seller (they asked for a link to the video)... it was a special album for them, and it meant a great deal that I gave it a showcase here. I'll keep it in tact for that reason, but be sure that the mildew doesn't spread. Thanks as always for joining the conversation!
Well.. except for the Berlin overprint 5 mark... that's a heckuva stamp that I'll probably find a better way to preserve
Iam about 70% effective on getting good albums online auctions. The recent worst stamps glued to pages and someone using scotchbtape as hinges. Ya. Tape is super acid and bleeds on stamps brown. Using them fort mail art i guess
Those old hinges are great. Why can't they make the new ones like they used to?
Totally agree... was just working on my Japanese stamp collection for an upcoming video, and had the exact same thought. You'd think it'd be possible... and yet, every brand I've tried pales in comparison to some of the older ones...
EVEN MY ALBUM WAS SO BADLY DAMAGED WHEN I BOUGHT IT FROM NEGLEGANCE OF FIRE AND MICE EATING, ANDF A FEW PAGES MISSING THAT I HAD TO CUT THEM ALL OUT AND FIT THEM NEATLY IN SLEEVES. THEY DO LOOK GREAT, BUT I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHICH PAGES I'M SHORT OFF AND ALSO WANTS TO TRY AND FILL THEM UP THEN .

When I was a kid before I had childreì🎉😊n me and my wi3 not parents, grandparents and all the b******* we are now I live next to a bar and everybody used to come over and take my phone into the bar and I used to have to go get it to the phone reach sitting at the bar so there. Were people in the court in the bar? Talking on my cordless phone either p***** me off so bad and you never worked because waiting for a work hard or something, and that was back in 95 96
I CAN SEE MOST OF YOUR COUNTRIES HAS GOT THEIR EMBLEMS AND FLAGS ON THEM. WHERE CAN I GET HOLD OF THESE. AS MY ALBUM ARE SHORT OF A FEW OF THEM.
That's a great question, your best bet might be to try and find an unused album on ebay that still has the flag decals inside
You no doubt could gave done much worse for $35.

Could you get the wife to take a pic of whatever you seem to be wearing to film? There is no shaking and you obviously aren’t using your hands
Just a tripod... and a phone... I'm upgrading my equipment soon though basically because I'm tired of filling up the storage on my phone and having to delete everything
