He is great. Just wonderful. Plus he is an absolute doll. He talked to a friend of mine on my phone when I asked him if he would. When his bodyguard asked him if he wanted the bodyguard to clear us out he said "no these are my fans."
By far the best recording I've ever heard of this song. No fake/forced vibrato, squillo is there and also not forced, and that glorious breath is spinning lovely tone from top to bottom. Thank you so much for posting!!
OMG how beautiful is this, I was tearing up within the first 2 bars... David is stunning in Il Divo, but to hear his wonderful voice by himself is fabulous.. Definitely added to my favorites... Wonderful, simply wonderful... :0)x

I know right, I'm sobbing 😇😅 he is amazing and I don't know HOW someone is THAT talented, I'm ten and I'm an opera singer, I have a pro opera singer as my coach and I WILL show her David Miller (btw that's my dads name and this Is my dads account, go to my channel and see me when I wasn't as good as I am now, I mean I have vibrato but not as insane as his) ❤️ u David 🎶🎤🎼🎭🎙
BRAVO DEAR DAVID ! GOD BLESS YOU ! I LISTEN OFTEN YOUR PERFORMANCES ! WONDERFUL PERFORMANCES ! GREETINGS FROM BULGARIA - SOFIA - EUROPE Mrs N.Mirkova - Sofia
I agree, he is one of the best voices living today in any range! It is a matter of personal opinion, but I think he is a lyric baritone. Like Domingo, he can sing with a bit of that tenor color or timbre. This is one of my two favorite renditions of this great musical piece. The other one is sung by Anthony Warlow. You can find him on youtube as well....unless you live on Australia, it is blocked there. Best regard, WJ :)
He'd make a great Siegmund or Tristan. His voice sounds like it's getting richer and richer, but without losing any brightness. I remember seeing him in Pearl Fishers (Nadir) in 2000 at Opera Australia (Sydney). He's still young, but in about 10 years I hope he considers Wagner. His voice reminds me somewhat of Peter Hoffman.
he is a great baritone without a doubt but this song is a humble prayer and David is singing it as if he gives an order to God insted of pleading. This song requires not many operatic vibratos to keep the real sense of prayer. In prayer you have to be modest and sincere that's why intro begins with soft falsetto voice , slightly bowed head. Towards to the last verses, vocal intensity and strength should increase with the desperate plea of Valjean. Sticking to this sample is duty for singers.
1st , his voice is too close to be baritone and sometimes he is considered as baritone. 2nd ,just try to understand whole point of my remark instead of plucking only one word out of it.
ian1856 lol.. says fussy, cynical and a bit twisted youtuber who is willing to be hard-ass rather than trying to get the point of that . . I think you need to be chill in the first place to be able to think rationally.. I can't probably show you how to go about it however there're numerous examples you can take such as Alfie ,Ramin or Jonathan Williams.
@luixander19 Υου are wrong. a light tenor is a leggero (check your dictionary) wheras lyric is a heavier voice. The repertory for each voice is different although there is some common ground between the two voices. Check out wikipedia
I think it might be down the road. He starts off very light, but when you get to 1:50 it's as if his larynx drops another three feet, and you hear this richness that I didn't hear in his 2000 Nadir or his 2002 Werther. If he can sustain that for 4 hours I don't know, but it'd be nice to hear. I'm not normally a fan of tenors who sing Wagner...I like to hear baritones work up to it (a la Claude Heater), but I think Miller has potential to go in that direction. No rush though...he's only 35ish
@siroakleigh98 What most people including you, fail to appreciate is that vibrato is a natural occurence when the air hits the vocal chords and they vibrate. The lack of vibrato suggests that the voice is strained and the sound is not natural. Particularly, high notes cannot be sung properly or at all without vibrato.
No doubt about it. Opera-trained bel canto singers simply slaughter music written for musical theatre. They'd be better each sticking to their own field.
It is a very good performance, but I wouldn't say the best. Of course, people have different opinions and that is ok. Personally, I think Alfie Boe gave the best and most touching performance of this number that I've ever heard.
@AnastasioFranco I am a trained singer and have performed Les Miserables professionally, so please don't accuse me of having a lack of appreciation. Maybe my comment should have been, "I hate when singers have such a heavy vibrato that it sounds like they are being shaken." For instance, Colm Wilkinson was the original singer of this song. He uses vibrato and it sounds wonderful and etherial. All I meant by my comment was that I prefer a light sound with THIS song. Sheesh.
This is very good and is certainly better than most of the recordings of this song that I have heard, however it lacks the quality of Alfie Boe's voice and dramatic interpretation,

well I actually agree with all of those... so I'm surprised you don't like Miller. Well, I agree with all of those, except for yourself of course, considering I've never heard you sing. But the confidence is admirable. :)
I have to agree that David's rendition is way better than Colm's and Alfie's rendition In fact it is the best rendition I've ever heard. But "Bring Him Home" is not an opera aria. And it was not performed like an opera aria the first time Les Mis was staged. So stop comparing the singers because they are both unique in their own ways.
@dieseldog00 I must disagree with you on that, Davids' rendition is WAY better than Colm Wilkinson's. Colm, even in his prime was not as powerful a vocalist as David.
Cudowny glos, poczucie humoru klasa gwiazd il Divo👏🥰🙋♀️
David is by far the best tenor in the world and this is the very best version of this song i have ever heard.
He is great. Just wonderful. Plus he is an absolute doll. He talked to a friend of mine on my phone when I asked him if he would. When his bodyguard asked him if he wanted the bodyguard to clear us out he said "no these are my fans."
This is by far the best rendition of this song that I have heard. From Toronto, Canada
David has such range. HIGH and LOW. Beautiful!
By far the best recording I've ever heard of this song. No fake/forced vibrato, squillo is there and also not forced, and that glorious breath is spinning lovely tone from top to bottom. Thank you so much for posting!!
What a voice! Angelic Voice! Words just simply can't descride how this has touched me. So peaceful.

@solaceincarnate Well David Miller can certainly sing. Just a beautiful voice and one of the most powerful tenors in the world.
No se si admirar sus ojos o su voz.
OOHHHHH MI AMOR
PARECES UN TROVADOR
❤️❤️❤️❤️🇪🇦
God he knows how to milk it. GOOSEBUMPS!
Wow
David is one hell of a singer, and he sings this better than colm wilkinson.
a #1
telbridget, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's a deceptive song: seems simple, but it's very difficult to sing. I thought David did a fab job on it.
¡SUBLIME!
Not even close ... Alfie Boe (from the 25th Anniversary Concert) knocks this song OUT of the O2!!!
he looks like a baby kevin bacon but sings like an angel
He'd make a great Siegmund or Tristan. His voice sounds like it's getting richer and richer, but without losing any brightness. Great version of Bring him home from Les Miserables. 👍
David's voice is higher and more operatic than Alfie. Both are wonderful singers.

ian1856 oh, what a word!! im busted ! ..lol..should I feel sad about it sonny?
My thoughts exactly. He's a very good singer, just not at this song. Colm Wilkinson does it best and Anthony Warlow is great too.

why did the camera have to be positioned so all we can see is up his snotbox? surely it could have been positioned better
Lainey Fabriccio Unfortunately, the camera has to stay where the photographer is.
I wonder why they can't position themselves in a better place than up their noses lol
😅

Agreed
David would be a great Jean Valjean ♥
@Babesie18 you seriously should listen to david phelps on no more night... I guess all the best tenors are named david :D
light tenor
@AnastasioFranco my friend lyric and light are one thi ng

Not better, different, Emphasis on different notes and notes. Both incredible. For me the wilkinson one was more natural but this is powerful.
