  • A bit better start from pole position for race 3, but a bit late on the brakes on cold tyres meant running wide at the first corner and losing a few places again. At the end of the 1st lap I ended up in neutral, then losing engine revs and a bunch of more places.
Managed to get a few good laps in and catch everyone back up but sadly the camera cut out / turned itself off. I finished 3rd at the end with Matt Robinson sneaking past on the last corner to take away 2nd place.

Hi, i want to start racing this series, is there anywhere I can get an idea of running costs? Or perhaps you could tell me? I've done plenty of senior rotax but have decided I want to race full circuits

We on average spend around £1k per meeting but this is racing Div 1 / 250 twin which needs race fuel and goes through more tyres etc.
You could go to www.gbsuperkarts.com/ for more information on a series. The cheapest classes are probably 125 or 450.

@@SMoss36 cheers :) seems like good value when looking at the lap times these do, and yeah I'm definitely going to have a look at the lower classes to begin with, I'm not fit enough for div 1 yet I don't think

Is it normal to have the engine take so long to recover when you lose revs? I'm guessing that the engines don't like running low, but it seems odd that they can't recover from it quicker than they appear to. It certainly puts a premium on not missing gears! And thanks for posting.

I think due to engine having rotary valves once you are out of the power band it does take a long time to get back on song. Slowly learning the quirks of the new engine.
