What do you use to make a clear glossy finish after it dries, to somewhat resemble how it looks wet? The reviews I've read of most spray finishes smell bad and dry sticky which accumulates dust. Thank you, great picture! 😍
Yup..you got it down solid! You're tilting technique blew me away...you can all the right mixes and ratios and expensive paint bur if cannot tilt, you're results Will be mediocre. Again, WOW.. .you showed me how it's supposed to be executed..Stay safe! Ciao
I know this is old, but I used to sell paint at Lowes. There is no difference between the paint bases other than C and B have less paint than A because base C is for very dark colors that require a lot of tint. Base A os for very light colors that require very little tint. I hope this helps you in the future!
well, i am a commercial painting contractor and have 26 years painting highrise buildings, that is not what i have been taught touring and speaking with chemist/paint manufacturers.
No that’s incorrect. The base used for light colours has more titanium white in it. You can’t tint a base meant for light colours to a dark colour because you will always be fighting the white. There is a maximum amount of tint you can add before the ratio is off between drying agents, tint and polymer and the paint won’t dry properly. The same is true for the medium base, it’s just less titanium white in the base. The base for dark colours has no titanium white in it and will therefore not only allow the darkest colours but is also the most transparent.
It’s so nice to watch someone who knows what they are doing and can explain it. There are way too many on RUclips that are just throwing paint on a canvas without a clue. Thank you for your work.
I've been watching acrylic pouring videos for years to learn the techniques and just enjoy the results, it is by far the most beautiful painting I have seen so far. I think I watched it more than 20 times. Thank you.
I've watched a ton of these videos and I think this is best one I've seen, stunning. At first I didn't think was going to well but it really developed into a masterpiece.
Hope you're feeling better by now. I'm a total newbie to this art-form having done only 2 dirty cup pours. I've watched countless YT tutorials and this is the first I've seen of the swipe tech done this way. Your results is stunning! I don't recall hearing anyone explain the how and why you're tilting as you did, esp. bringing the weight of the paint back to center before manipulating it to another corner and the sides. Totally makes sense to me now. You might say it was an "ah ha" moment. Thanks so much for sharing.
Wow...I've played with the dirty pour painting A LOT...and watched so many videos...this is the prettiest one I've ever seen!!! Thank u for sharing and inspiring...
I love the mediums as when i was painting my house years ago , i stumbled upon this method 20 yrs ago by mistake with urathane an paint. Awessssome results in ypur work!
Amazing to see how laminar flow comes into play with acrylic pours. The cells are completely undistorted after so much moving around. Science is rad. :)
this is the first pouring video that i want to follow along step by step! thanks for explaining that the white poured in the middle is thinner and is floetrol 50/50. will watch other vids to see what magic you're mixing into your colored paints. cheers
I did NOT expect for it to turn out so amazing!!! 😍 If u look at it pink side down iy reminds me of the bottom of the ocean, like the pink could b the very bottom where all the awesome coral colors r and turn the blue water and that one line looks like an octopus tentacle 😁
Hi Erica! I love your irk! Just wanted to mention the differences in the bases for house paint. I worked for Sherwin Williams years ago. The deep base (or base c) is for deeper color mixes. The A and so on are for light or pastel colors. This is something I wouldn’t know had I not worked in that business. So for mixing house paint with craft paints - I would always recommend the deep base.
Beautiful!!! I'm having issues with my pillow paint being too thick and I can't get did of enough paint to keep it from cracking when it dries. I think I'll be adding some water to the white in my next attempt
I'm sure glad I watched this video. This piece turned out incredibly beautiful and inspired me. I was trying to figure out what to do with the canvas I scraped, now I know ty
Oh wow, love the results. Gosh I really to try this pour technique finally especially for my Jan 2020 Showcase in Orange County Ca. Thanks for sharing.
I have watched your video over and over again and have tried to do this about 5 times with no luck but I feel like today is the day!! Lol I'm getting better each time. You did an amazing job. Thank you
Love this .. the colors are SO vibrant Been in a bit of a slump lately… do trying to snap out of it .. watching a few of my Fav Artists to get encouragement.. ty for sharing 💙💙💙💙
Hi Erica. So glad I came across this again as the first time I didn't see the importance of the white paint and the added water for the cell formation so I was glad I added this page to my fave's and was able to come back to it and see where I was going wrong as I was having huge problems getting any cell to ''POP'' and after many many a bad pour/swipe I was looking at other styles as I thought this was just not going to work for me so I would like to thank you for posting this and I hope I can get that magic to transform my canvas and enjoy my art as much as you and your friends. Cheers!!........P.s......Greetings from Limerick! :)
Wow, do i evet love this one, with the magenta & bluegreen stipe down the middle to start, its so amazing how the white paint ended up, so beautiful....how on earth did u even acheive that lacey, or webby look. Kinda spiderweb look ha?
Oh man that was so funny. I'm Scottish and say " Anyhoo," all the time. And you've just said it too😂😂😂😂 Just started watching and you've got me laughing already. Thank you ❤️🤣🤣

Art is art 🤷🏻
No right ways or wrong ways to do anything when it comes to art and that's why i love it so much! 😍
Really appreciate how you got the edges covered without losing the lovely, awesome design.
I've been watching acrylic pouring videos for years to learn the techniques and just enjoy the results, it is by far the most beautiful painting I have seen so far. I think I watched it more than 20 times. Thank you.
After two years watching you, this is still my favorite!
Wow! If this is what you do when you're unwell I can't wait to see what you do when you've recovered!!! It's glorious!
Every time I see this painting it’s one of my favorites.
and I have to watch it again.
This is one of my top 10 favorite poured paintings that I've seen on FB and YT. And I've seen thousands of tutorials. Nice!!!
I've watched a ton of these videos and I think this is best one I've seen, stunning. At first I didn't think was going to well but it really developed into a masterpiece.
Agree... I wasn't sure it was gonna turn out as amazing as it is. I was scared to stretch my swipe but I'll do it next time 😮😮😯😯
Hope you're feeling better by now.

Erica Hughes Art, you’re welcome. thanks for the ♥️ and for your art videos,

It was such a gorgeous swipe, I got a little upset when you began tilting it. Now, I'm gobsmacked!
Lady you did that! BaBam! I won't get back to pouring or anything with paint until after the holidays, this makes me want to paint now.
Beautiful!!!
I'm having issues with my pillow paint being too thick and I can't get did of enough paint to keep it from cracking when it dries. I think I'll be adding some water to the white in my next attempt
