I read "The Complete works of swami vivekanand" and found answer for this question that ""we must listen (read also) about this Atma till it mix with every drop of our blood"".
@@ryanjohnston8237 its actually not, the idea is to realize that you are atman, when you realize it, you will never forget it. Swami explains this by his example of Hamlet. Its similar to the fact that you dont have to remind yourself who you are. However, speaking this about Atman is easy realizing it is tremendously difficult. May God help us.
Swamiji, I learnt a lot from your lectures and benefitted. How do I ever repay the debt? I don't know. I can't even say God bless you because I am older than you. May people like you be there in every place where there is so much of suffering - caused by themselves and others. I am a student of Ramakrisna Mission school - long time ago. I cherish that association.
Advaita Vedanta is 100% correct. All knowledge is indeed thru experience and then attaching a name to it. Just research the development of IBM Watson and you will see that this is how machine Learning works. Machine is fed thousands of example and told what its called. This is machine experiencing each item and attaching a name to it and then later even if it has not seen anything like it before it can still say what it is. This is the core of machine learning and same for how any person or animal learns.
I'm deeply grateful Swamiji.. Your videos keep me on track as while living in material world, I doubt myself but by God's grace we have you to guide us whenever feel lost.. Thanks 🙏
You don’t have to remember your true self, You only have to forget your false self (Ego) that is the purpose of spiritual practice. Bhagavan SriDattaDev SatChitAnanda
When you experience, you're experiencing experience. When you remember, you're experiencing memories. But the bottom line - there's always an experiencing going on. There can be an experience of absence but there cannot be an absence of experience. The TV screen is always On, the shows start & end.
@@aeonsleo2 yes however whether perceived or in memory the Atma/we are free and untainted of all experiences. Also deep sleep is only one of the three false "states" so cannot be really used as a standard to realise our true nature in turiya
I so appreciate these simple grounded examples. May “I” wake up to ‘my’ true nature; may all beings everywhere wake up to ‘their’ true nature. 🙏🏻. And may Swami be blessed with a long life.
By far, this is the best teaching to not only understand but live the principles of Advaita. Thank you for the right question. Thank you Swamiji, please teach more on these lines, so that our living experience may reflect our true nature.
I AM That! What do I care whether the mind is thinking and resting in me or not! But, the mind also has no choice but to remain in me, outside of me nothing is. And, the mind does not exist in me either, inside of me nothing is. Only I AM!
Thank you swami ji for the simple yet so profound insight ........as you explained ......I never have to remember and remind myself .......because I am continuously experiencing myself .....that is अनुभव. So there is no need of स्मृति for that......similarly I need not remember and remind myself continuously that I am consciousness itself.....rather I have to always experience myself as consciousness .......simple but profound .......how easy and at the same time how difficult....!!! प्रणाम स्वामीजी ।।
Jitender Misra yes, so easy , as u just hv to be in your real nature, and not pretend to be your body. Difficult because body consciousness is difficult to shed.
Swamiji thank you for the beautiful explanations, the difference between experience ing and remember ing. I will practice the state to be conscious by your grace
Pranaams Swamiji 🙏i am hearing this again, my understanding is better. Its the attractions and aversions that make us forget our real nature drawing us into delusion...hence need for sadhana. 🙏🕉️
All the forms and fellings are of the same substance as consciousness. Still your thoughts and see that the mind is empty like a mirror. When you look at the spacious mind with no thoughts you are pure awereness. Then a thought wil rise "this is it, i know it". This thought has nothing to do with reality. The thought refers to an inmagined person existing only thanks to thought. But realise then that at the same moment that thought is present there is the Knowing of this thought. This knowing is the empty mirror where all appearences are reflected. The difference with the mirror in which the human body is seen is that in this mirror not only appearences are reflected but at the same time also cognised. According to mahamudra and dzogchen the nature of the mind with all its appearences is always empty and knowing. You are the vast clear and luminous space "mirror" where all this appears. The appearences are always and only just this mirror. You experience the thoughts that rise, you experience the feelings, memories, visions, sounds, tastes, somatic sensation that rise. It is thanks to you that this objects are being experienced. With no awereness there would be nothing.
I like the examples you give Maharaj. Your talks have this quality of presenting a fact so clearly that later I don't have to remember it. The whole thing is experienced then and there....and, this I call experiencing ! Pronam Maharaj. 🙏📿🌺
Thank you Swami ji 🙏🙏🙏 I think dream is a perfect example to this question where we experience everything without knowing and remembering.. And all what we experience there is unreal except the one who is experiencing.. Sri Matre Namah 🙏🙏🙏
May Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekanand and Swamiji here bless me with constant manana, and nidhidhyasan, so that I can experience the calm reality that is me.

Light put on by swamiji on a very common yet important question in a very good way. Once you realise that you're brahman completely, you don't need to remember that you're brahman
Experience of the subject (I am) is always present wheather objects are present or absent. Trick is never to get absorbed in objective experience so much that we forget subjective experience ( I am).
Brilliant! Swamiji, you have resolve one of the puzzle about experiencing atman, awareness etc. Now what make us to consistently experience that Atman, Blissfulness etc? I think that is why one has to start experience with calmness, serenity. I am complete, I am sat chit Anand until it becomes second nature or so wit
Respected and dear Swamiji, thank you, thank you....again and again. Impure mind may not allow the ego to be in SELF awareness..there lies the danger and solution too. Pl give us next time few tips to follow apart from broad prescription of KY, Upasana yoga and jnana yoga...🙏🙏🙏🌺🕉️🕉️🌺

Attention goes here and there but again that is observed. That observer is always there as the sense of Self, I am.
