I have an 18-year-old X350 Jaguar 4.2 XJ8 that runs like butter off a silk cloth! and Yes you _can_ live with a classic as an everyday driver! With petrol at over £8.00 a gallon here in the UK it does get a wee bit pricey to drive but its a pleasure every time. I love old Jags, Grace -Space and Pace is as always....undeniable!

What a nice car! Over the weekend, I'll be doing a +-1500km trip with my XJ40. It is now in good enough condition to try it out for a longer drive.

That's why my toy car is a 2002 Chrysler Prowler. Inca Gold and only 280 of them were ever made. It's 20 years old. But it has enough modern computers in it that it's dead reliable and modern enough to be loaded with toys. It also has that retro classic 32 Roadster look that is timeless and will never look dated. The center panel is incredible. The dash at night is a light show. I got it from the first owner who owned it 10 years, (he won it in a Dealer charity raffle?) and now I've owned it 10 years and never had a single problem with it. Let alone hauling it home on a truck. I won't put up with that with ANY car. It has the H.O. 3.5 that I also massaged a bit and get just at 300 hp out of it in a 2,200 lb car. It'll eat an 02 Lambo Countach and a 19 Vette C-7 for lunch. The Vette has 454 hp and weighs 4,300 lbs. It's not even close and it would need 600 hp just to keep up. People who bad mouthed the all aluminum 3.5 had no idea what they were talking about. It had 50 more hp than the iron V-8 at that time. And a lot lighter. I put a new high performance cooling fan in it because it runs warm and that's it. It's got 20k on it and is barely broken in. And does it sing! Overhead cam, and 24 valves in perfect harmony. It's a real pleasure to listen too and I rarely run the stereo. It is also a Mercedes however; but uniquely designed and hand made at the Chrysler Conner Avenue shops. The same shops that hand made the Viper. I put 15k worth of chrome on it and wouldn't take a nickel under 65k for it. And FYI: I also have a supercharged 2018 Dodge Charger with a V-6 and it puts out 600 hp. Easily. Here's the Prowler in a slide show: facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1603817649636257&set=a.1603817496302939

Hi Adam . The colour is Greensand . My series 2 was finished in that colour . I was tempted to change it but so glad l didn't . It was a 4 door but looked very elegant with the chrome pressed steel wheels . Have to say l'm surprised at your keeness regarding those hideous bumpers , exacerbated by those awful side mouldings.....but each to his own ! Adam, the chances of curing water leaks on these is virtually zero ! The door aperture seals were very poorly made and they would completely fail in the "welded" joint if you tried to remove and refit them . I noticed the seal was failing down the drivers door " A " post area . A customer came in with his new XJC , coincidently in Greensand , parked it on a slope and as he got out , water gushed out over the sill ! It was literally flooded up to the top of the sills ! We eventually located the leak in the outer "A"post seams which was only found upon removal of the front wing ! Removing all that smog gear will improve the performance quite markedly . Good luck !

Hello Adam, I have been following your channel for some time and as an XJC owner I am really happy to see you have one now to look after and make part of your videos. It will be interesting to see how the US spec car compares with your European series 2. I personally know nothing about the Strombergs and as I have seen plenty of SU videos it would be nice to see a Stromberg refurb for a change. Good luck, and if you are ever in the Netherlands again we’d be more than happy to hook you up with the local Jaguar club and make sure you’ll be looked after. Hi Adam , very nice a Coupe is the top of series two XJ . But the US version bumpers and position lights are really ugly . And they was luckily never installed on European and English cars . Luckily the designers from Jaguar stayed with the esthetic design version and send the Autoscooter version to the US . No worries personal taste is always personal so sure some people like the US versions. In Germany very few Jaguar Fans I know like the US versions .

Having owned a Daimler XJC for many years I have to say that the US spec car is fugly compared to the UK version of this basically very beautiful car. The extended bumpers, extra sidelights and, worst of all the horrendous rubbing strip totally spoil the looks. Such a shame. The detuned US engine must also spoil it too as the car was no rocket ship even with the factory spec much more powerful engine.
