It was actually very encouraging to see you having to make corrections as it shows that not getting things perfect the first time doesn't mean we stink. I've loved pop-ups since I was a child and would spend hours looking at how they were made.
So incredibly helpful to see the examples from your collection as inspiration and to see your process of recreating them. I can't imagine anything better than this series. A thousand thank you for showing all the folds and the moments that required doing again.
I'm glad your back. Using your tutorials I've managed to make a kids book and start a pop up card business. Mostly I'm thankful you've shown me a way to expand my art from halfway across the world. I'm from Zimbabwe.
Thank you for not editing out the part when you decided your design didn't quite work. Watching you experiment with different angles was very educational for me. Thanks for your channel. I recently bought your book. During the shutdown in California due to the Coronavirus I have been learning how to make pop-ups from your book and videos. I'm having so much fun and my family has loved getting pop-up cards from me.
I'm glad you appreciate seeing my mistakes - I think it's important to see that teachers have to learn too - and actually students can often teach their teachers! Great to hear you're having fun with pop-up.
I came across a copy of your book, how to make pop ups and it's just great! I had no clue you were on RUclips!!! Oh my....I'm ruined!! I'll devour your videos now!!!!! Thank you soooooooooo much for the free tutorials so that everyone can enjoy the wonders of pop up books!
It is interesting to see the process when you do it, take it off and do it again. Really nice to see a figure associated to the mechanism! Thank you for sharing.
Mr. Birmingham, have you considered using end screens? That way your videos can go directly to the next one? When you select edit on the classic RUclips you can add it in the end of your videos. Perhaps you already have but since I view your videos a soon as they come out, they might not be there.
Hi. I just found your channel by accident and I really like it. I make pop-up cards and I will improve my ideas with your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Regards.
Yes - glue them into the gullies that close as the base closes - you could also experiment with adding Angle Folded Strips (Tutorial 8 at 7.46) to raise extra leaves or petals. Always good to experiment.
@@thepop-upchannel4919 I have been using what I've learnt on your channel to create journal entries. I loved the idea of creating a pop journal of some sort. I fancy doing this one with an Anais Nin quote. Fingers crossed it turns out okay.
The glue I use is called UHU. Most glue will work. I like solvent based glue best - water based glue works fine but it goes hard more slowly so can be a little more difficult to work with. Some people like using double sided tape.

Yes, I find things not working out quite right can be really helpful to the learning process.

Could you add parallelograms to the base under the flower to add more leaves or petals?

That sounds really good! I wonder what the quote is?
@@thepop-upchannel4919 "And the day came when the risk it took to stay tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to bloom"
I like that. I could add "Take the leap and the net will appear"....not sure who said that.
Superb I am learning a lot
