It felt like you were telling my story with Overwatch... from stage 1 to 6, I've been there in all of them, and now I'm at the final stage 7, just here still enjoying this unique game casually :)
The stages of every OW player when they see a new Kiriko skin: - Denial: "No way they gave her ANOTHER skin" - Anger: "Stop giving Kiri skins!" - Bargaining: "M-maybe we'll get a Venture skin next time" - Depression: "Blizzard has to keep giving her skins so the lights stay on" - Acceptance: "Fine, I'll spend $20 on pixels"
I'm an enlightened hardcore burnout. Once or twice a year I have to take a month break and just play a single player game. But I'll always come back to ow. I'm almost at 10k hours been playing since launch
It's truly astonishing how you have perfectly captured the community in one video. I too have ran through all 6 stages and now enjoy the game as an enlightened casual. Amazing video
I feel like I bounced around the stages until I hit t500. That just kinda hit the "I can stop now" switch. Still enjoying the game casually tho, but I am almost never getting mad at the game. Also I feel like Overwatch has taught me more about confidence, self-improvement and self-love/hate than anything else. I'll keep playing this whenever I get the itch until the servers shut down.
I think I've reached the enlightenment stage since my burnout was in Orisa meta during Season 8 with Mauga. I've played since late 2016 and OW is still my favorite game even with its flaws. And I'm drippy AF.
I've been playing overwatch sense the 2016 summer event and through out the 8 years of on and off playing I've become content with overwatch and I think that blizzard is in their most creative state right now but nothing is going to hit like opening a lootbox and getting a legendary but all good things must always come to an end.
I’m Invested. But I’ve been Invested since OW1 in 2017. Comp isn’t my thing, I tried it once, and I just think it’s too stressful. I would say I’m a collector too since I have an extensive collection of cosmetics for every hero. But that’s pretty much it. I keep up with current events, but I don’t lose sleep over it.
I guess I've gone through all these stages and have hit enlightened. Burnout came when they stopped updating Overwatch 1. But before then i was hardcore and dedicated most of my time to it.
Being a booster that plays the game solely for the purpose of creating new accs, unlocking rank and selling them in the market, I started being obsessed with overwatch since I came from professional valorant scene and I was done and exhausted. OW was like my savior and kind of gave me a purpose to enjoy the gaming life again. I played this game since the launch of OW2 and till today I play it for the same reason. I do not and have not invested a single penny in OW instead, made good dimes from selling the accs, uno reverse card on your blizzard XD. Well I have come to the point where I am extremely exhausted with the game and I can't understand why.
Enlightened Widowmaker/Sombra mainer here. I was bronze for two years, but even back then I could sometimes outplay (or almost do it) even GMs or top-500 players. Yeah, Getrush_7 might not be able to forget that Widow duel we had once... I've left Overwatch several times, but I always return here. Still playing, still carrying hard games, still losing easy games. And still happy to play it alone or with friends. Overwatch does have several "clones"/games of same genre, but it's the best project among them. That's only my opinion ofc, but I will continue playing it
I think I am hard stuck casual but really close to invested. Like at times I play For fun and once a week, and at times I play the game multiple weeks in row doing ranked mach after another. All depends how my main and secondary main of each role is doing in the meta.
I'm between casual and invested. I play regularly and keep up with all the news and goodies, making sure to grind a good amount of the pass out... buuuut it's not the first thing on my mind for a game each day. I'm... casvested
Happily enlightened. I know my main heroes, I know the game frustrates me, I know people can be toxic as hell. That’s why we burnout, it’s the signal to take a break and play something that isnt as loud and competitive. After that break, we’re excited to play again. I love overwatch. It’s my favorite game. I’ll never leave it in the dust. Because I love its lore and characters. Most especially the ones I play. Good video! I’ve been through all these stages. But I’m comfortable as an enlightened player.
I got OW launch day, lived through Double Shield/Pirate Ship, Goats, got burnt out during the content drought the last year of OW, then came back for OW2, and im still pretty bad at it. Lol.
i’m like a beginner invested and hardcore all at once😭 i play every day,,, im invested at ranking up,,,,, but i also have only been playing for two months so i just straight up Dont know everything about all the heroes and the maps😭😭😭 was gonna say that i do finish all of the battle passes too but ive seriously only been around for s12 and s13,,,
Me and my friends are "nomads" in competitive games, stay in one game for 1 or 2 years, and go for another one. Sometimes, going back, I started playing overwatch in 2018, stopped in 19, back in 22, the start of overwatch 2, stopped in season 3, and now get back in season 11 until today, I buyet the bastion pac, so now my nubers are broken 😀, and I feel like I know everything and nothing at the same time, this game is.... A case, and I an the invested
I feel extremely qualified to say I've hit stage 7. The first time I ever played the game was on my friend's switch, before getting it myself. (This was roughly a week after Echo was first introduced). I played on my switch for DAYS, collecting hundreds of items from the loot boxes and managing to level up to around level 141. On just my switch, I had about 325 hours of gameplay (this is impressive due to the shitty performance of the switch). I was excited for the release of overwatch 2 and was there for release day (hell). Because of the free to play nature, I could finally upgrade to playing on my Xbox one, which I did for about 5 months, when I got a ps5, which I currently play on. I bought some of the shop skins (all of the one punch man stuff and the $40 Diablo Moira skin), and every battlepass up until mythic Moira, which I didn't buy. I played pretty majorly up until season 6, or whatever season mythic Orisa released. After that, I started feeling major burnout. I came back for a while during super mega ultrawatch, but still felt burnout. I earned enough credits to buy that battlepass, and got Reinhardt's hammer skin. After that I waited until Juno arrived, where I started playing semi regularly again. It's fun, and I'm starting to feel the pace again, but damn, burnout's a bitch.
I'm like a mix of casual and invested lol. I haven't played in like two weeks since they changed Sombra a bit again lol. I'll probably play this weekend, but I buy skins and the battle pass if there are things in it I want. Good video lol
Tbh i never started as a noob. I played a lot of paladins so I was able to pick up on overwatch very quickly. Being able to swap heroes really gives an edge
Gotta say I played casual and randomly came across aspen warm questron jay3 and kinda got me more invested into the game to the point where I crash out smhhh
I’d say I’m a casual at the moment, I don’t know everything but I understand a good chunk of the gameplay. I started playing because of the transformers collaboration and Reinhardt is my main
there will be a new stage that branches out from enlightened, the marvel rivaler, because after years we finally have a game like overwatch and the cycle will be born anew, you'll go from beginner all the way to enlightened again except this time your spiderman.
im enlightened, quit Overwatch in season 4 with 6k hours, swore to never play again and sometime during season 13 i relapsed and ive been grinding the game daily since.
Started as a main Hanzo then dps Doomfist then Genji main now returning to Doomfist I've been playing since season 3 I think... So yes I probably like this game quite a bit...
Maybe enlightened? I played OW1 at the end of it lifespan, maybe 2-4 months before the transition to OW2. I played OW2 until PVE got cancelled. I tried other hero shooters, like Paladins, but it worked really poorly on Playstation. So recently I returned, now I have played for 2 weeks. Even bought the battle pass for first time. OW will not be my main game, Fortnite took that honor roughly 3 years ago. Nor will I ever played ranked (I have social anxiety) But I have fun. And that's why I'm here.
i hate blizzard’s greed and the fact they kept the secret of canceling pve. but i still enjoy the game (whenever my teammates work together). i know the game will thrive on the rein, kiri, mercy, ashe and widow mains/whales
I am personaly not a real gamer myself, but I have played this game since 2015 (Yeah, I know the game came out in 2016, but my dad worked as a graphic designer for blizzard in 2014-2016 :-) so I just sometimes when I have more free time in a month, to go grind some ow, hit master 2-1 maybe even gm, and then leave for like 3 months XD. Idk what stage I would be in though lol
I am pretty sure I am in enlightened I played this game back in 2017 and played it for years until 2021 I had gotten a burnout ranked was such a pain I still hadn’t even gotten a gold weapon yet I was tired so I quit I checked in every once in a while and saw the new characters then overwatch 2 reawakened something a spark that I had once been craving and I am back on the grind still haven’t gotten my gold but I am getting there lucky I own lots of skins because I use to open loot boxes and got lucky and any money I do spend is for a old skin I never got because I use to think it looked weird or a new one but yeah that’s my story :)
soo im a beginnner, but i main widow... okay got it. because i dont know what most people do or what their names are, but i know widow goes pew and heads go boom.
I was once plat on Overwatch and Hero of the storm but got to bronze or silver in these 2 game I only casualy play for bonus point 4 game a week and went diamond on hearthstone and StarCraft and plat in Street fighter 6. I perform better in 1v1 game. I feel like people are smurfing and sniping me on team game because all my game of hots or overwatch are smurf rolling on me or sniper afk on my team. Everybody want me to loose.
I made a "smurf" account to olay with friends. First couple of games i genuinely tried to yknow, not ruin everyones fun, but then the enemy team had a smurfing widow going all out. It was nice to put my skills to use killing her, just the ensure the betterment of the match lol
At some point when ow2 came out i just saw the same game but with the worst changes I played it since 2019 and I was just tired. Theres the burnout. Now in October 2024 I started playing and yeah ow2 feels different and fresh Im a hardcore ranked only player. I enjoy the game IM HAVING FUN ALONE and ranking up. Ofc with some tilts and toxic moments but its just part of ow. Maybe I just need medication. Maybe Im just happy enough to play ow
The jump from invested and hardcore is so real
lol can relate
I’m in enlightened because I stopped playing for quite some time due to burn out and then I came back and I haven’t stopped loving it
Same
@@DKNIGHT2785 same
Exactly me
I thought I was casual until I heard the hardcore..
"Invested" is a fantastic description for how I treat the Overwatch.
"threat of exile from the friend group" thats what happens when you DO play overwatch
Moving from 6v6 to 5v5 💀
It felt like you were telling my story with Overwatch... from stage 1 to 6, I've been there in all of them, and now I'm at the final stage 7, just here still enjoying this unique game casually :)
The stages of every OW player when they see a new Kiriko skin:
- Denial: "No way they gave her ANOTHER skin"
- Anger: "Stop giving Kiri skins!"
- Bargaining: "M-maybe we'll get a Venture skin next time"
- Depression: "Blizzard has to keep giving her skins so the lights stay on"
- Acceptance: "Fine, I'll spend $20 on pixels"
Acceptance? Sounds a lot more like submission to me...
No, i will not fuel Blizzard's pockets to combat yet another Sexual Harrassment lawsuit
What about the R34 enjoyer?
All stages
I'm an enlightened hardcore burnout. Once or twice a year I have to take a month break and just play a single player game. But I'll always come back to ow. I'm almost at 10k hours been playing since launch
#4, you don't love it, you hate it more but you know you cant quit because your a overwatch player...
Dude Ur crazy the rate in wich you produce vids and the quality is insane Keeper it up
It's truly astonishing how you have perfectly captured the community in one video. I too have ran through all 6 stages and now enjoy the game as an enlightened casual. Amazing video
im in the burnout stage rn
I was the last two seasons had to Uninstall for a month or two and play something else. Came back and it helped a lot
I feel like I bounced around the stages until I hit t500. That just kinda hit the "I can stop now" switch. Still enjoying the game casually tho, but I am almost never getting mad at the game.

overwatch was like a fever dream, i got addicted so fast and burnt out
playing once a week is 'invested' and not 'casual' hmmm...
had to have meant day or sum
I became enlightened after like a year of playing, comp is not worth it if you don't know what you're doing
Enlightened Widowmaker/Sombra mainer here. I was bronze for two years, but even back then I could sometimes outplay (or almost do it) even GMs or top-500 players. Yeah, Getrush_7 might not be able to forget that Widow duel we had once...

Ow is like Siege, insanely high learning curve that just gets more and more frustrating and annoying the better you get
I'm between casual and invested.
I play regularly and keep up with all the news and goodies, making sure to grind a good amount of the pass out... buuuut it's not the first thing on my mind for a game each day. I'm... casvested
I can relate to this video soo hard having started 4 months ago lol
Love the content man

I’m enlightened, although I peaked in the burnout tier, quite high too. Now I suck, but I’m pretty alright with that and am just having fun.
i’m like a beginner invested and hardcore all at once😭 i play every day,,, im invested at ranking up,,,,, but i also have only been playing for two months so i just straight up Dont know everything about all the heroes and the maps😭😭😭 was gonna say that i do finish all of the battle passes too but ive seriously only been around for s12 and s13,,,

I still don’t know how to play after years 😭💀
you're not alone, most players including myself are like this
that's great for you tbh the less you know the more fun you have
Day one of asking The Watchover to make a discord server for the fans as you got the talent for this youtube thing man.
Im enlightened i used to be a grandmaster in ow1 and when ow2 hit i just didnt play it until season 3 or 4 loved it again since tho
Gotta say I played casual and randomly came across aspen warm questron jay3 and kinda got me more invested into the game to the point where I crash out smhhh
I play Doomfist all day every day
I'm a hardcore invested, because I play for fun but as for most games I watch a lot of content on it
i was a hardcore player but with no job until i switched to pc(my dou is a console player) now i am a burnout
I’d say I’m a casual at the moment, I don’t know everything but I understand a good chunk of the gameplay. I started playing because of the transformers collaboration and Reinhardt is my main
I love your videos sm
I'm definitely in invested/casual, but mostly invested.
there will be a new stage that branches out from enlightened, the marvel rivaler, because after years we finally have a game like overwatch and the cycle will be born anew, you'll go from beginner all the way to enlightened again except this time your spiderman.
Iam at burnout now. Been playing sense ow2 came out and almost hit 1K hours mark.
Being in the enlightened stage(myself) really shows your age.
I’ve seen a lot of these kind of videos about tf2
Don’t mind me over here, unable to sleep unless I have a game or two before bed. I can quit whenever I want!
No I can’t.
im enlightened, quit Overwatch in season 4 with 6k hours, swore to never play again and sometime during season 13 i relapsed and ive been grinding the game daily since.
I do Esports so I was never a true noob because I had a coach telling me what to do and stuff. But now I’m burned out because I played so much.
Damn, I jumped straight from Casual to Enlightened
hardcore - burnout - enlightened, repeat each week
Though I was casual but I hit ALL the checkboxes for invested💀
I skipped burn-out and went straight to enlightened
Where is the lore hungry stage 😆, I'm currently in Enlightened ( taking a break too but already got the itch ).
Started as a main Hanzo then dps Doomfist then Genji main now returning to Doomfist I've been playing since season 3 I think... So yes I probably like this game quite a bit...
BTW I haven´t put money on it... as a Overwatch 1 buyer I don't want to do it... yet... My money goes to Warframe sometimes...
Mythic skin ranking pls
The enlightened stage is changing to marvel rivals 8:00
id say im in the transition between invested and hardcore, because i still play a fair amount of genshin
How did you get that reticle for Sym to have the circle show up only when you shoot your orbs?
Maybe enlightened? I played OW1 at the end of it lifespan, maybe 2-4 months before the transition to OW2. I played OW2 until PVE got cancelled. I tried other hero shooters, like Paladins, but it worked really poorly on Playstation. So recently I returned, now I have played for 2 weeks. Even bought the battle pass for first time. im invested, prob.
The only thing why I might become the burnout is toxicity sadly...
I would say that im currently in the hardcore stage
I’m in a weird spot between invested and hardcore personally
nvm I’m in the enlightened tier unfortunately
I am Tanking and Playing Wreking ball in Comps some times.
i became a god in two months by only palying junkrat, his molester-like smile brings my heart great joy
I'm around 3 & 4 only reason not 5 is because I don't play competitive mode.
i hardly spend any money on this game, but i play it every day and know how it all works
At level 5 most likely going to be lvl 6 and 7 soon
i hate blizzard’s greed and the fact they kept the secret of canceling pve. but i still enjoy the game (whenever my teammates work together). i know the game will thrive on the rein, kiri, mercy, ashe and widow mains/whales
I am so close to be enlightenend. Just gotta temper myself when I read Twitter.
What if I’m hardcore but I’m only silver 😭😭😭😭 but I think I’m enlightened. I really like the characters and crave more lore tho
And they say … and they say … and they say chivalry is dead
how i wish PvE was actually added
I am like in between casual and investing
soo im a beginnner, but i main widow... okay got it. because i dont know what most people do or what their names are, but i know widow goes pew and heads go boom.
Im in the grind zone
In the middle of casual and invested
I was invested but im now a hardcore barely hardcore but hardcore
I was once plat on Overwatch and Hero of the storm but got to bronze or silver in these 2 game I only casualy play for bonus point 4 game a week and went diamond on hearthstone and StarCraft and plat in Street fighter 6. I perform better in 1v1 game. I feel like people are smurfing and sniping me on team game because all my game of hots or overwatch are smurf rolling on me or sniper afk on my team. I ever use the stadnart icon and use all default skins. people ususally think i am a bot. lmao
I’m on 7 I haven’t played since season 3 but I’m back and I’m ready I’ve invested at least $140 in it
Im prob in the invested category tbh
hmmm. no matter in which state i am, i never spent a single dollar on that game.
I would be a part-timer / enlightened, for I have seen the light of M A R V E L R I V A L S
Damn i been getting throw all of these until i delete the game and go throw them months later
im in the middle of #5 and 6
I made a "smurf" account to olay with friends. First couple of games i genuinely tried to yknow, not ruin everyones fun, but then the enemy team had a smurfing widow going all out. It was nice to put my skills to use killing her, just the ensure the betterment of the match lol
im definitely enlightened
i have 2000+ hours and 12 kiriko skins and i realy dont play any other game
I’m in my burnout right now
Remember me? I don't think you're gonna hit 50 K by the end of the year
At some point when ow2 came out i just saw the same game but with the worst changes I played it since 2019 and I was just tired.
Im hardcore but I dont buy all the battlepass. Just ones that have skins I like
