In the application example of a smartphone housing made of aluminum, the compact DATRON neo milling machine successfully faces numerous challenges and proves its technical advantages.
I can only imagine how many hours of cad and cam programming it took to make that!

I’ve been trying to use more adaptive clearing strategies in my machining, but I’m haven’t found a good solution to limit all those tiny motions where the machine rapids to remove a micron of material that would be removed in a later pass with no trouble anyway. I’m using Solidworks CAM Professional and it’s pretty limiting.
go for a bigger stepover. adaptive is the way to go.

What is the total running time of the job? Sometimes it looks like the playback is accelerated, but it does not show a 2x or 4x indication on the video anywhere, this is confusing me.
Dear Edwin, well observed! Actually, there is an acceleration not indicated - from 00:06:19:45 to 00:06:31:00. During this time laps we have sped up the engraving process of 800%. The first six minutes show the engraving
process in real time, though. We will make sure to include the time laps indication in the future. Again, thanks for pointing this out!
Very nice machine! But cam...is not good...a lot of wasted time. What cam program uses?

Agreed greyhunter, some larger tooling would have helped too.
It's only a 2kW Spindle, but it can reach 40k revolutions per minute. It's literally made for small to medium tooling, and pretty much aluminum only.
