Sorry, but I have to say this. The rarest thing of them all happened, an anime youtuber actually mispronounced a character's name by trying to pronounce it too japanese XD Sunraku, from Shangri-la Frontier, is actually pronounced like the english word "Sun", because his surname, Hizutome, has the first character Hi that means Sun in english. So the correct pronounciation is Sun-Raku, or Sanraku if you want the japanese phoenetic.
Nothing has signaled to me that an author actually plays MMOs like making your protagonist's MMO avatar be a shirtless, shorts-wearing bird man. THAT is the kind of character I see in Limsa every day.
@@QueenofBrambles Also true! Sadly more rare than the birbs or froges in my Limsa plaza, but they do appear sometimes alongside the moogles, the elephants, the rabbits, and the snowmen. lol

Important reminder that the author of The 100 Girlfriends who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You has said that if he knew this would be the work of his to make it big, he would have gone with a different title, specifically because his mom has read it, loves it, and insists on using the full title every time she mentions it. W anime, W mom
The idea that in an entire player base of an MMO, not a SINGLE person would have geared their entire build towards potion making or cooking? Absolutely foolhardy. Now, that a protag-kun would be a game-breaking kusoge hunter in a bird head? That I believe without question.
The idea that only one person in an entire game would try the in-depth cooking system is absolutely laughable to me. As a former chef, if a full-dive VR game came out that included cooking, literally the first and only thing I’d do in that game is open a pop-up restaurant for fun, and knowing MMO players like I do from FF14, I would clean up. We all love novelty stuff like that.
Yeah. As someone whos NOT a good cook id be toying with that cooking system for hours on end. Hell, if it were elaborate enough id maybe use it to practice without worrying so much about wasting ingredients
Yeah if your MMO has a detailed crafting system that isn't completely pointless, you'll have people who're ride-or-die on that aspect of the game alone. End of the day errybody wanna be a blacksmith

I like how the most unrealistic thing about Shangri-la Frontier isn't that "Full Dive MMOs might exist some day", but that "Companies will still be releasing physical copies of bad budget games when they do"
Well, they will. Yes, the digital storefront has some extreme depths of trash. But games like all star fruit racing, Clive n wrench, the fantasy friends games, the my universe games...those all came out physically. 😅
Ig the sheer filesize of these games would require a unique futuristic 80tb SSD and that at that point you might as well just buy and click in a physical copy instead of trying to download the bastard?
It's a refreshing change from a lot of other harems where the guy either doesn't want the girls chasing after him, or is so oblivious he doesn't even realize he has a harem.

Honestly, 100 Girlfriends had me worried about what would happen once we reached an unreasonable amount of girlfriends but I'm glad the author was just as able to develop the main character's relationship with the girls as much as their own relationships with each other. Although, we're not even halfway there and I'm definitely curious how the author plans to make another 70+ characters. Considering the absurdity of it all, I would not be surprised to see monster girls eventually.
Part of me hopes the author had a plan for each of the hundred girlfriends before the first chapter was published, just in case. A larger part of me hopes he had to wing it starting somewhere around girl 13.
@@timothymcleanshe probably makes it up as she goes or has rough outlines of characters that she develops as the series continues. I don't see how you can plan out an entire 100 unique characters that get full development before you even start writing your story, i actually wouldn't even want that as it sounds like a bad idea to start with all of your characters and only then start building your story, it makes sense that she would continue to make new characters as she continues working, it's hard to think of 100 things at once, its better to develop your characters 1 at a time and guve them the attention they need, and once you are done with them move onto the next rather than leaving things half empty. I don't expect every girlfriend to be as good as the initial 5 either, there's gonna be some duds, not everybody can be shakespeare and she has 100 individual characters to deal with, I'd challenge tolkien to write that many characters flawlessly.
There's a story that early Spider Man stories were developed so quickly that often Stan Lee would just drop a note like "rhino themed villain", then Steve Ditko would draw the story with blank bubbles, and finally Lee would fill in the bubbles. I really hope that's the creative process for 100 GF too.
@@HaganeNoGijutsushi Not just Spiderman, that's called the 'Marvel Method' for a reason. Basically writer roughly plots it out, artist draws from that outline, writer fills in dialog. I want to watch 100 Girlfriends solely for Shizuka. Holy crap, they made a nonverbal character that uses quotes she memorized. How much more relatable can you get??
100 girlfriends genuinely is so much fun. I didn't watch it for the first few weeks because it's not my usual thing, but I'm so glad I picked it up. I especially love how supportive, and kind all the girls are to each other. I feel like so often in harem shows the girls are just mean, or argue a lot, but in 100 girlfriends they all like each other, and are actually friends, rather than just acting like rivals.
At first I hated 100 Girlfriends. Then I loved it. Editing that section made me realize… maybe… I… am the trash… for not realizing such pure writing artistry!!!
100 Girlfriends asks the question, "What if the harem protagonist _wasn't_ just an indecisive tool, but instead was a polyamorous playboy?" and I love it for that.
Been reading Shangri-La frontier for ages, it's a great story. There's definitely moments where the game world stuff feels messy, but it comes much closer to accurately capturing gamer culture than any other story I've seen. Sunraku's quest to take his talents for playing jank-ass trash games to conquer a mainstream MMO is a ton of fun, as is his regular diversions into other games he likes playing (because that's a thing that happens in this story, the MC just... decides to take a break and play something else from time to time, crazy concept I know). Also the closest thing the MC has to a love interest plays as a 10 foot tall armored behemoth with a greatsword, she'll be a real keeper if he ever figures out who he's talking to.
@@nbkarkatShe's also a part of the strongest guild and one of the highest level players we've met. Also, finally has a guy player that literally plays as a girl lol.
That Rei-chan/Psyger-0 has not made it into either of Geoff's reviews is a crying shame as she is probably the most delightfully pure shygirl I've seen in a while. (Her doing the finger thing and her celebration dance in that 9' Armor getup after Sanraku accepts her friend request are peak gap Moe). Additionally the game store owner Nana was working to sell Sanraku on SLF to help Rei hook up with him and she's in the guild focused on taking down the Nightwolf that is our Hero's nemesis so neglecting her seems like a major oversight.
I'm sad you didn't mention all of the delightfully terrible names in Returner's Magic. The fact that the Big Bad is named "Boromir Napolitan" and the love interest is literally "Romantica"...

Yeah… This premise definitely feels like it’s for a niche audience; though it’s debatable how niche since it’s popular in Japan. Guess a high schooler dating a adult is a kink in East Asia media? As there are so many age gap romances out there (that sometimes address the problematic elements of dating a teenager, but still hand waves it away, cause ROMANCE), it has to be some sort of ‘forbidden desire’ (teens (or kids😰) wanting to date adults and vice-versa, going into groomer/pedo territory).

The best tidbit about Shangri-La Frontier's plot hook is that at any time Sunraku could have the wolf's curse removed by a cleric. All the negatives he suffers for having it (can't wear armor on his arms, chest, or legs, enemies weaker than himself flee so no grinding on low level creatures) can be undone at any time, so he's only affected by the curse because he WANTS to be affected by it. Considering the kinds of games he normally enjoys playing, he's definitely a game masochist.
I did notice the bit about being cured by a Saint. But is it an easy service to find, like getting curses cured at a church in Dragon Quest games? Or would finding a healer be a giant quest itself?
@@enlongjones2394 The description sounds like getting the curse undone is the kind of thing you could get at any church. Shangri-La Frontier is supposed to be a "god game," so a player who gets cursed but can't handle the debuffs should be able to get the curse expunged pretty easily. Because that's good design for an MMO.
@@BaoHadir that sounds reasonable. But I’m also wondering if that angle comes up in the story, since it hasn’t yet in the anime. Butareba suffers guilt by association with Inukai's Dog from a couple seasons ago, but it waves off both the echi and isekai stuff after a couple of episodes and turns into a straight-up dark fantasy with some very interesting world building. I'm legitimately more engaged with it's story than anything else I'm watching this season.
I have seen a few shows where it seems like the writer has a genuinely interesting story to tell, but they add the isekai and echi stuff to try to make the show/manga sell better (whether by their own choice or forced to by the company they work for). A lot of the time it actually turns me off from what would be a fun read as it feels so blatantly and awkwardly shoved in as to make it unenjoyable. Mieruko-chan is a good example where the story gets way better once the fanservice finally tones down quite a bit.

100 Girlfriends is a series for people who love all of the different types and flavors of women period. Usagi Drop hurts me so much. It could have been salvaged had the last chapter been "Look, you are going through kiddy love, and that is cute, but I am your dad and want you to be happy with someone your own age" instead of "If you still like me in a few years, sure, we can be lovers". It's just baffling. Like, whyyyyyyyyy I know this isn't a new take, but every time I am reminded of Usagi Drop, my heartache explodes and must be vented.
My problem with it is that it was a twist, unwanted by most of its audience because that wasn't the point of the story. I'd be down for a story where that's the clear *premise*, and it would go over much better because that's what the audience is there for.
Honestly I loved the 100 Girlfriend Manga because the writer is actually surprisingly good at making the girls stand out even though they are already close to over 30.
Okay, but that bit about the nonverbal autistic girl is actually kinda heartwarming. She's cute, endearing, and treated as a positive person, albeit one that's awkward to work around sometimes. How did the horny show about literally 100 girlfriends manage to do a decent job of making an autistic character? PS; don't think I didn't see the LycoReco art and acrylic figures in that one bit with the tome travelling erotic VN show.
Ikr? Genuinely some of the best representation I've seen in a long time. Especially from an anime, where covering stuff like that tends to be more taboo.
one bit of credit I can give 100 Girlfriends is that despite being a series that is extremely horny and also being a series that includes many girls who look like and/or are small children, it is shockingly rigorous at keeping those two things separate. It ain't perfect and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know in real life but... it gets a lot closer to a clean bill of health than I thought it would.
Ikr. Honestly, I will never be able to recommend this to anyone I know, but I can appreciate how despite playing some potentially problematic bits for humor, it doesn't often make me feel uncomfortable like other anime and manga using the same bits.
Any other anime would make a whole arc about her speaking up. However, with Shizuka her method of communication is never villified by the series. Rentarou even helps her by transcribing the book series into a TTS app, letting Shizuka communicate in a way that's clearer yet still comfortable for her. It's a brilliant way to handle that sort of situation and shows a very friendly and careful mindset.
Jumping to "autistic" is a stretch. From episodes already animated, we can see she can speak, and she stuttered there. Minor spoilers for the series, she is able to clearly sing, and she CAN speak, but she doesn't not out of a mental difference, but due to the fact that she had a stammer since birth and she was berated so much for it that she now has trauma that skyrockets her anxiety if she tries speaking. She's a traumatized character, not autistic, and it's really nice seeing a character that is able to live with their trauma. Honestly surprised I keep seeing people say Shizuka is nonverbal autistic (when the nonverbal has already been quashed), and ignoring the potential of Eiai having high-functioning autism.
Am I the only one who's been shocked and pleasantly surprised by how respectful a lot of this latest trash has been? First we had the vending machine anime that actually talked about periods in a respectful way, then we have a ton a weirdly respectful stuff towards women and disabled people in 100 Girlfriends, and now we have a horny pig anime that calls out the slave girl trope and doesn't have a possesive protag, even if he's a total creep... It's honestly a little scary that this evolution is happening so quickly and unevenly with trash specifically, but I'm here for it.

I didn't know people were having these issues being able to watch it. Very sad to hear because it's my favorite manga and the anime has been absolutely everything I have wanted it to be so far. I wish everyone would be able to enjoy it. Here's hoping they get that sorted eventually.
So glad 100 Girlfriends finally has an anime, I've been so hype for the concept of "what if healthy polyamory, actually" but never quite got around to getting the manga
It's great and fun. Until it drifts off into the inevitable clusterfire that is too many characters, too many gimmicks and too much crazy for my taste.
It's not polyamory. These girls are not dating each other - they date him. When one partner gets all, but the others only allowed to be with one, it's a harem by all definitions.

Exactly why I hated Kingdom of Ruin as well. Any good female character is killed off minutes after they are introduce. (Sure, the reason why becomes apparent later on, but it doesn't make it good) That and it tries a bit too hard to be edgy so it ends up not being enjoyable.

yeah basically all his actual edge comes from how he got dealt the absolute WORST possible starting hand out of any of those characters (also the murder he did to get to the first batch of cauldrons because you don't get that good at that with that high of a bounty while having "actually evil Nine Tailed Fox times ten" inside you without at least a little murder)
Yeah, a big part of BlazBlue comedy is that the dude you would assume is an edgelord is actually the straight man, especially in comparison to the rest of the cast (who are a bunch of total weirdos)

@@Mark_o_Helm Serious answer: Not yet. I‘ve only started college last month, so I’m still at the most basic of basics. Stuff like „What’s the Id, Ego and Super-Ego?“, „How do emotions effect the way we learn things?“, „How do we react to certain stimuli/How do reactions work in general?“, and „How does our upbringing effect the way we act?“. The most advanced topic we’ve managed to cover up to this point was why people with autism struggle with „understanding other‘s emotions“ (sorry, not the best wording. I am VERY tired right now). So I can only give you the most basic of advice (that you‘ve probably heard hundreds of times before): Be nice, get to know the people around you, and don’t be too pushy. Unserious answer: You… really shouldn’t ask *me* about that sort of advice. I mean, if I actually knew what I was talking about, and I actually practiced what I preached, I wouldn’t be sitting here, alone, in the back of the room, „surviving“ off of 2 hours of sleep, a single candy bar and a LOT of water bottles, only half-consciously listening to people around me talk about their day, instead of actually talking with them. Also, I am EXTREMELY dense when it comes to any and all social situations, to the point where I’d genuinely put the average harem protagonist to shame. In pre-school, my crush literally told me, TO MY FACE that she was in love with me, and my first thought was „She just sees me as a friend. She probably doesn’t even like me all that much…“ Same thing happened in middle school as well, but this time with a love letter instead of a direct confession. I even danced with her at our highschool prom, yet I still thought that our relationship was purely platonic until, I kid you not, literally one week ago. So, yeah, as I said, you really shouldn’t be asking me about that kinda stuff.
it goes a lot deeper than that because the staff are some of the same people who made the games featured in the show. the original manga is autobiographical about Mitsumi Misato and Amazuyu Tatsuki's experience working at Cocktail Soft, then the screenwriter for the anime worked for Leaf and wrote Kizuato and To Heart. most of the voice actors were also picked because they played an important character in a VN (the protags for Kanon, Clannad, and Fate are all in there).
It wasn't until you were discussing 100 Girlfriends that I realized that we are due to eventually get a hot goth anime gf AND a hot tomboy gf. Also, why tf is the production value SO HIGH for this show!?
Ooh thanks for the info on 100 girlfriends. I dropped it after episode 1 because it felt like it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be garbage trash or trash with a diamond in the rough. Good to know it kinddddd of picked a lane and did it well
This may very well be your best Hottest Trash vid yet!! The dumpster descriptions were especially poignant (or would it be pungent?)! Awesome work Geoff!!!
The 100 girlfriend's anime surprised me because the title had me writing it off my list when i first heard about it. I have not seen the anime, but the scenes in just this short analysis of the show did an amazing job of illustrating why it works. The MC isn't a quivering ball of nervousness all the time, he brazenly declares his intentions with the girls, but unlike 90% of harem protags actually takes the time to be a good boyfriend rather than treating them like gacha items.
@@nightfears3005you know its not really brainwash, the girls still has sanity and sense of reason, for example a later gf who slap rentarou because of (spoiler) and another gf trying to attack rentarou because of (spoiler), youll know when your read it, but when rentarou does something wrong the girlfriends still has a free will to criticize him for that, he does not brainwash the girls to loving them its just that hes destined to all of them, albeit he still has to work hard

@@triggerfairy4070 No? I just like peak fiction when I see it, and 100 girlfriends comes close. If you don't jive with the comedy of the series, then that's understandable, but to label it as self-aware "crap" is a massive slight against good writing.
This is only tangentially related to the topic of the video, but the big irony of Ragna the Bloodedge of BlazBlue is that far from being a super edgelord, he's actually the only normal person in the entire series. Half the comedy is just him being bewildered by the sheer insanity of the rest of the cast.
100 girlfriends is one of the greatest animes ever. The references and the modern humor is so good and perfect. I have never laughed so hard in a long time. A show where the girls are enjoying themselves and the main character is a chad.
A Returner's Magic Should Be Special also has an excellent plot point, which is that the monsters appear by dimensional rifts that can only be closed by entering a parallel world and completing quests that bring the story of that world to a conclusion... which makes it straight-up Fantasy Reboot. It's also great in that Desir, while quite competent, is not the strongest member of his own team and his goal is mainly to strengthen his companions as they have way more potential than he does.
Of the ones mentioned, 100 Girlfriends is an A-Class comedy, do not miss out on it, just incredibly funny. It somehow pulls off the premise by being utterly sincere about the emotional stakes of the relationships and EVERYTHING OUTSIDE OF THAT is absurd comedy based off the premise of "what if god dictated this sweet boy was going to have the BIGGEST polycule???" Shangri-La Frontier is also pretty solid action if I disagree about the creator knowing games all that well--at least modern game culture, and certainly MMOs.
+1 for being the first comment to mention it's a proper polycule and not just polyamory. Some of the girlfriends form basically lesbian relationships within the harem despite still being head-over-heels for Rentarou (my personal ship is Mimimi and Meme). Also, Geoff doesn't touch on how MUCH of a chad AiRen is. The stuff he does and goes through for his girlfriends at times borders on the supernatural.
Sorry but harems are just a MASSIVE turn off for me, no matter how good the quality of the story is. Glad people like it and are enjoying it but I'm just gonna skip this one out. I've pretty much grown to despise the genre on principle after so many awful pieces of work.
it's impressive how many reincarnation isekai manage to create the perfect ratio between the mc's mental age, the mc's physical age, and the love interests' ages in order to create a situation where any way you can possibly conceptualize the relationship is still p*dophilia

A Girl and her Guard Dog gave me a flashback of when I looked up UchiMusume's light novel to see where the story goes...well, calling it Fantasy Usagi Drop basically sums it up. Honestly, it makes me wonder just how many iterations of this plot are out there in Anime
God damn it and here I was kinda remembering the Uchimusume manga being good and somewhat hype to watch it... Can't unread that tho. Sometimes it's hard to love this media T-T

And then heard his voice and had to turn off the water and go back a min! This is the crossover I never knew I needed so bad! And yeah seriously, his videos are freaking AMAZING!!
So I actually read a decent bit of the Manhwa for Returner's Magic so I was quite looking forward to this one, and I am mostly pleased with how it's turned out, although the Manhwa definitely did a better job of portraying the somewhat unique MC struggle that Desir faces: He knows that he is incredibly OP, but he also knows that being that his OP just isn't enough to make a difference on it's own and that he needs to bring other people up to his OP level if he wants to have a chance at real success.
Getting an A on your highschool midterms really doesn't matter when the world is going to end and the only way to stop it is for people to _work collectively for once in their goddamn history._
Outside of worldbuilding I wouldn't really compare it to Claymore, given the character focus is completely different, and kinda mean to RC given both series excel at what they set out to do.
Honestly, I was surprised that 100 Girlfriends wasn't trash. It makes fun of harem anime, while actually taking the concept seriously, and presenting a strangely authentic, collaborative, and non-toxic complex of relationships.

The idea that in an entire player base of an MMO, not a SINGLE person would have geared their entire build towards potion making or cooking? Absolutely foolhardy. Now, that a protag-kun would be a game-breaking kusoge hunter in a bird head? That I believe without question.
Monster Hunter Buff body and wiggler head combo comes to mind
I spent my first 30hrs of WOW obsessed with the fishing mechanics so yeah. The idea that none of them looked at it is insane. Cooking gives buffs.

Maybe digital storefronts were banned? About the only thing that could explain it.
Apparently Japan's pretty big on physical copies of games, so that could be an explanation as to why.
Well, they will. Yes, the digital storefront has some extreme depths of trash. But games like all star fruit racing, Clive n wrench, the fantasy friends games, the my universe games...those all came out physically. 😅
I mean, is it unrealistic tho? Considering what kind of stuff is released to this day, it's honestly horrifyingly real

Shangri La Frontier is the perfect representation of all those gamers who go "lets see how far I can get in this while completely ignoring the main quest" and go up against mobs 5 times their level for the funsies. One correction on the returner show. I rewatched the first episode. And it wasn’t 3 years. It was almost 14 years. 3 years was how long until the monster they fought spawns. They fought it for 11 years after that. And he got sent back to before it all. It doesn’t change any of your points. But I think it makes the context just a little sadder because of just how much time he just lost of his life.
It's also a story that is really hurt by its adaptation. From the terrible animation to the weird name changes to the not great sound design.
I read the original for a long time(until the phone I was reading it on broke and I couldn't remember where I was reading it), and it's actually pretty good. I've seen the first three episodes of the anime and so far it's been a huge let down.

The Chad Lunatic Ultra-nightmare player
@@enlongjones2394 The description sounds like getting the curse undone is the kind of thing you could get at any church. Shangri-La Frontier is supposed to be a "god game," so a player who gets cursed but can't handle the debuffs should be able to get the curse expunged pretty easily. Because that's good design for an MMO.

So you mean I should give it a try? I stopped after the first episode, I really don't need another Harem in the dungeon or what this was called...

Like, whyyyyyyyyy
I know this isn't a new take, but every time I am reminded of Usagi Drop, my heartache explodes and must be vented.
I respect the author for slapping the audience in the face like that.
This reason why all country should make their own anime. Because japan would gone!

Serious answer: Not yet.
So I can only give you the most basic of advice (that you‘ve probably heard hundreds of times before):
Be nice, get to know the people around you, and don’t be too pushy.
She probably doesn’t even like me all that much…“
Same thing happened in middle school as well, but this time with a love letter instead of a direct confession. I even danced with her at our highschool prom, yet I still thought that our relationship was purely platonic until, I kid you not, literally one week ago.
So, yeah, as I said, you really shouldn’t be asking me about that kinda stuff.
16bit Sensation is genuinely peak you can tell the author loves VNs and that love comes through
it goes a lot deeper than that because the staff are some of the same people who made the games featured in the show. the original manga is autobiographical about Mitsumi Misato and Amazuyu Tatsuki's experience working at Cocktail Soft, then the screenwriter for the anime worked for Leaf and wrote Kizuato and To Heart. most of the voice actors were also picked because they played an important character in a VN (the protags for Kanon, Clannad, and Fate are all in there).

It somehow pulls off the premise by being utterly sincere about the emotional stakes of the relationships and EVERYTHING OUTSIDE OF THAT is absurd comedy based off the premise of "what if god dictated this sweet boy was going to have the BIGGEST polycule???"
Shangri-La Frontier is also pretty solid action if I disagree about the creator knowing games all that well--at least modern game culture, and certainly MMOs.
Ha ha, the japanese are truely masters of thier craft....oh and that 8 year old is really a 1000 year old demon
100 girlfriends getting popular makes me so happy. It’s so good.
For incels perhaps.
The throwing darts bit killed me! Thanks for all that you do. Love all your content.
"When I call an anime trash, I'm not saying is an inherenty poor quality, that will be garbage, easy mistake to make. Trashyness isn't about quality at all, is about taste" 🧐
love it
Respectful insult for today thin skinned generation.
@@user-SanderBrockim sure you go into a rage if a guy likes guys, but sure we're thin skinned
"professional murder-pedo"
Geoff, you never cease to amaze me with your descriptions, I love it
A Girl and her Guard Dog gave me a flashback of when I looked up UchiMusume's light novel to see where the story goes...well, calling it Fantasy Usagi Drop basically sums it up. Honestly, it makes me wonder just how many iterations of this plot are out there in Anime
I don't think any of us really want to know the answer to that question.
God damn it and here I was kinda remembering the Uchimusume manga being good and somewhat hype to watch it... Can't unread that tho.
Sometimes it's hard to love this media T-T
14:10 A glasscannon build spec'd into stealth skills and self-healing. So, my PVP Hunter build from 2003. Truly a futuristic meta.
Josh in this video makes everything better! I’m listening to this while take a shower and as soon as you said his name I was like… what??!
Getting an A on your highschool midterms really doesn't matter when the world is going to end and the only way to stop it is for people to _work collectively for once in their goddamn history._
gojo satoru plotline (its a great plot)
“So… don’t judge a book by its cover! Or it’s other contents, for that matter.” Made me laugh my ass off.

I personally call Ragna Crimson "Claymore at home". It kind of feels closer to Claymore the further the story goes.
Way more like Claymore than Berserk, for sure
Outside of worldbuilding I wouldn't really compare it to Claymore, given the character focus is completely different, and kinda mean to RC given both series excel at what they set out to do.
the author of ragna crimson was a student of berserks author, so no
if you’ve read the manga it’s pretty obvious
Honestly, I was surprised that 100 Girlfriends wasn't trash. It makes fun of harem anime, while actually taking the concept seriously, and presenting a strangely authentic, collaborative, and non-toxic complex of relationships.
