I bought this bike in late 2021, so had it for around a year now. Its a great bike.
It seems the same on this test bike - that the cables over the top of the front forks have worn the paintwork considerably. Other than that, I can't really fault it.

Was hoping to grab this but there not due back in stock until October apparently, so I managed to grab a specialized stumpjumper alloy 29 instead.

I ordered one from Halfords the picture online is black. It has all the parts advertised but it’s a darkish grey colour not black. I preferred the black colour advertised but not to worry bit crappy advertising on there behalf. Not a bad bike at all wants to be for the price.

Does anybody know when the 2022 lot of bikes are coming out? Or is this still worth getting?

Thanks for the review, worth the wait, interesting comment on the competition especially the AM100s (which is priced similarly to the MTR 8.8).

Any chance there's a review of the 8.6 at all?

Cant be beaten for the money with the chunkier suspension and brakes that other bikes at the price. 5'10 riding size L

@@F1-Passion great mention, I've just picked up a L for £900, lad bought it, did 5 miles and put it back in the garage. Always interested in the size thing - does the Medium suit your size? I'm 6ft and find some large bikes too much of a reach to be comfortable.

Hi Toby, I went and asked the guys at Boardman about the coil shock for you and they said that it's compatible but also that it probably won't be any good, depending on your riding style.
The MTR's leverage curve is designed for an air shock and tuned for an increased spring rate as it moves through its travel. A coil shock may be more plush at the start of the stroke, but Boardman says it'll bottom out more regularly.

@@offroadcc hi that's great I think I will just put I a better air shock on it as i personally find that the rear shock isn't tuneable enough for me
