She would draw hers everyday because she'd plucked them for so long that at a certain point, they wouldn't grow back as they used to. Looking at my old pictures from then, I looked so much older than my age.
Me and my sisters all have naturally full dark eyebrows. They are 10,11, and 12 years older than me and our younger sister. They plucked away as teens and young adults in the 90s and early 2000s 😭 I'm surprised they grew back normal lol
There's a show on Netflix called "Indian Matchmaking," and they discuss the Indian obsession with lighter skin in it. A lot of Asian cultures have that, too. =/ And the irony that Caucasians used to be that way, but now tans are glamorous, is really funny to me.
Coming late to the video. My grandmother was born in 1900. She wanted white skin because that meant you didn't have to work outside. There is a serious issue with "bad" makeup artists who try to do the makeup of someone from Indian or Pakistani decent for film and TV that makes them look like their skin is plastic. Look at the Indian Prince and his consort in that scene from Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to see what I mean.
The Ariana one, that’s from flashback. Her foundation usually matches really well. The MUA used a setting powder that didn’t agree with the paparazzi flash.

I answered the door looking that way for a couple of door-to-door religious salesmen and they quickly left. Now, the next generation of girls is using me the same way. The one with Ariana Grande, it might not be that the foundaton itself doesn't match, but it could be a high SPF in the foundation, which causes flashback with flash photography.
Here's the thing about makeup... There's an extremely unrealistic idea that makeup will magically blend in and "disappear" into the skin, but no matter how skilled, makeup will always look like makeup on the skin. And that's OKAY! There shouldn't be any shame in wearing makeup and having people tell you're wearing makeup. Maybe it's just because I am goth and wear more noticeable makeup, but I have NEVER looked at a person wearing a full face of makeup that looks like they spent time and effort on and thought "ew, I can SEE their foundation!" Even when applied well, foundation will never look like skin. It's also impossible for a brand to have a color perfectly suited to one's individual skin color. There's way too much genetic and environmental variation that affects skin tone, so don't be afraid to mix colors! :)
Mixing colours is the way to go! You can get custom cushion foundation containers that allow you to put different colours of foundations under the sponge, mix them, and then use it like a regular cushion foundation. Pair it with some pony effect round sponge thingies for travel and whatever you like to apply with at home, et voilà! Easy application of the perfect shade.
I don't think it's because someone is ashamed of wearing make-up or is scared to get called out, at least it isn't for me. When somone tells me that it looks like i don't wear make-up then it's a compliment for me because it means I did it really good.
I mix my foundations sometimes and I have 2 shades that i wear throughout the year(1 summer, 1 winter) and I have to mix them together so i have the perfect shade.
You hit it on the mark with makeup for non Caucasian skin colour. I'm a makeup artist and I remember working on my first film set and the lead artist showing me specialty pallets and powders that I should invest in for other skin tones to make sure the person didn't look grey which was funny because I went to one of the top schools in Vancouver and they taught us to do everyone in the standard shades (even our students who were of Indian and native decent). I have alot of pictures of grey people from my time in school. :D
I'm in everybody's favorite state, Fla. And we're having a hell of a lightning storm! I hate lightning, so thanks for being here for me Charlotte!! I much calmer now!!
I went to a local makeup artist who came highly recommended for my graduation ceremony pictures. I'm a dark woman and she made me atleast 4 shades lighter in the face, didn't blend the makeup into my neck and when I complained about being extremely off my skin tone, she told me everyone wants to be fairer than they are. She said she only has makeup for fair skin women eventhough I had met with her few days before and confirmed that she would be able to work according to my skin tone. Ever since then I lost faith in getting a good mua. I think I'd rather learn from RUclips and do my own.
That person is very unprofessional and should have her license stripped then, she needs to find the shade that matches your skin tone. There is many makeup brands that are way more diverse with shades (like Fenty Beauty). What a stupid excuse that she created. I hope you can get your money back.
I think putting white make-up on your face is still more healthy than bleaching your skin. In countries like India and South Korea bleaching is a normal thing. Beauty standards are different.
I only realized Koreans are not that pale after I saw some of the husbands. They look weird next to esch other snd the women suffer from a lot of pressure. I ever only met one Korean woman who didn’t give in into that. She was a total badass
@Preeti101 "dark skinned indians began to be considered dirty and poor for they worked out in fields and got their skin tanned" It's still much the same underlying reason. As it was in much of the western world also, although now it's the exact opposite; if you're tanned it suggests that you have the time and money to go on fancy vacations while if you're pale you're poor and have to sit in your office building all summer slaving away.
Usually the face become grayish when the foundation they are using are the exact shade as theirs without checking first if it will oxidize on their skin. Best thing to do there is match it, and let it dry for a couple of minutes first. Best bet is to use a shade lighter to avoid this :)
This is the best part of my daily routine! Thank you Charlotte! You look gorgeous as always sweetheart. Everyone reading this have a wonderful day also.
I love my 24 yr old daughter like crazy, but she really does use an orange shade of foundation that drives me crazy when she wears it everyday lmao I have tried to tell her as nicely as I cld but she thinks I'm wrong as usual. I know nothing.
I had that problem for yeaaaaaaars to find a undertone that matches. So maybe she has a similar problem. And my mom was also always pointing it out until I was like "but what should I doooooo there is no effing other!?" Maybe she'll be open to be matched by a MUA or at a shop? Because it all changed when I finally knew my undertone 🤔
@@tuschi8039 that’s very true I always have trouble matching too. I’ve been broke lately but once my finances are more stable again I want to go to Ulta or Sephora or somewhere like that and be matched and see the differences.
Remember the time when the only thing we did to eyebrows was pluck stray hairs? Maybe we should go back to that because this experiment is clearly a failed one.

A lot of the techniques made popular in recent years via social media come from drag queens and stage performers, mainly because the skin texture looks good on camera and the setting techniques hold up under hot studio lights. If you're looking for a professionally trained makeup artist's tips and techniques for the real world, I highly recommend Robert Welsh here on RUclips.
I have naturally black hair. I just turned 40 this year and I’ve noticed that my eyebrows are starting to look thinner and thinner. So I do use a little bit of eyeshadow on my eyebrows, but I don’t put a bunch of it on and then wipe it away. I just take a brown/black eyeshadow and dab it onto my eyebrows. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on how good they look so I guess it’s doing the job.

I have alot of pictures of grey people from my time in school. :D
About six years ago yellow lipstick was cool in Korea- just not like that.
Yeah come to think of it that’s when I bought the yellowish lipstick and I liked it until someone said it looked like baby poo 😂 they right
Charlotte, your eyebrows are GOALS! And no foundation? Your skin is amazing! 😁💜
I'm in everybody's favorite state, Fla. And we're having a hell of a lightning storm! I hate lightning, so thanks for being here for me Charlotte!! I much calmer now!!
All the way in Connecticut and it's pouring rain 🌧
I did the 90's thin eyebrows, in the 90's.. and my eyebrows have never recovered from it.. 😞😄 Charlotte has very nice eyebrows! ♥️
I never heard about that.. that’s awful..
There's an insane amount of skin whitening products/treatments pushed in all of east/south east Asia.
Japan Gisela look.
@Preeti101 "dark skinned indians began to be considered dirty and poor for they worked out in fields and got their skin tanned"
It's still much the same underlying reason. As it was in much of the western world also, although now it's the exact opposite; if you're tanned it suggests that you have the time and money to go on fancy vacations while if you're pale you're poor and have to sit in your office building all summer slaving away.
you always look great Charlotte. As a society, we really need to stop rewarding stupid.
You do realize that the people who bully you are just jealous.Poor babies :(
Agree I want to be Charlotte lol I love her
Usually the face become grayish when the foundation they are using are the exact shade as theirs without checking first if it will oxidize on their skin. Best thing to do there is match it, and let it dry for a couple of minutes first. Best bet is to use a shade lighter to avoid this :)
Charlotte has such pleasant "eff you" energy (I noticed when she "apologized" for her brows), and I really need to borrow some lol
This is the best part of my daily routine! Thank you Charlotte! You look gorgeous as always sweetheart. Everyone reading this have a wonderful day also.
Your eye brows look like eye brows and not ink that was stamped on… ignore the haters! 💕
You always look beautiful, seriously.
This is what I said. The fad of overly filled in/stamped brows is horrible. It's probably those fans. I love her brows, they're natural looking.
@@thankyouforincorrectingme - I completely agree!
I love my 24 yr old daughter like crazy, but she really does use an orange shade of foundation that drives me crazy when she wears it everyday lmao I have tried to tell her as nicely as I cld but she thinks I'm wrong as usual. I know nothing.
I went to school with a girl like that. Straight up looking like an oompa loompa!
Awww motherhood huh? Little shits!!!! We didn’t get to our age by nothing literally nothing!! Lol 🤦🏻♀️
I had that problem for yeaaaaaaars to find a undertone that matches. So maybe she has a similar problem.
And my mom was also always pointing it out until I was like "but what should I doooooo there is no effing other!?"
Maybe she'll be open to be matched by a MUA or at a shop?
Because it all changed when I finally knew my undertone 🤔
@@tuschi8039 that’s very true I always have trouble matching too. I’ve been broke lately but once my finances are more stable again I want to go to Ulta or Sephora or somewhere like that and be matched and see the differences.
Cold hard truth works best.
Charlotte's hair is serious texture, colour and look goals. So pretty!
Remember the time when the only thing we did to eyebrows was pluck stray hairs? Maybe we should go back to that because this experiment is clearly a failed one.
Right I spent my life having to thin my eye brows an now they are surprisingly the thick st the better just can't win
Just found this channel recently and have been binge-watching all your videos. I don't typically watch this kind of content but your personality is what makes your videos stand out from the rest of the reaction videos out there. I'm so glad to have found your channel! You're awesome!
Me too she is so funny!!!
Ladies. Welcome to our club, Girls❣❣I 👑 crown you official Charlotte addicts. She uploads 7 days a week,12:00 Noon Eastern Standard Time and 3:00 PM EST, Saturdays, on her 2nd channel, "Just Charlotte". Also, the outro is Charlotte singing, in the event you didn't know. If you like her song, you can find it by searching Take It All Off (Featuring Charlotte Dobre, Sam Klass)- Defunk. You can listen on RUclips, or Spotify. Idk about Apple store or Amazon music. Welcome to our community. 👊💝🤘
Watch her entitled videos. They are the funniest. 💞
@@Trista072 Thanks!
@@happychaosofthenorth You're most welcome. 💖
Another day, another video from Charlotte. I'm happy.
I’ve noticed a trend it fad with the eyebrows- to me it looks like a couple fuzzy caterpillars are stuck to the face and it’s weird to me.
And back in the 90's crazy thin eyebrows were in. Like shave off your brows and draw them on. Eye brows are always a fad, a constantly changing fad.
@@kaileyenns absolutely!!! Lol
Everyone is sporting some Sesame Street brows..... Like 80s, Brooke Sheilds brows but on steroids. Too much. My eyebrows still haven't recovered from the 90s- early '00s. Moderation, everyone. Moderation.
Never let anyone get to you about your makeup or natural beauty, Charlotte! You’re absolutely beautiful! ❤️🤗
Charlotte giving thoughts and prayers to make up tragedies is the best!
...btw your brows are perfect, full, shapely & still natural enough to not look ridiculously fake, you're bang on as usual !
I dont even know much of anything about makeup but you still make these fun to watch XD Thanks for all the laughs!
Damn! Social media is just toxic. I love your eyebrows. I think it's people who have/like that insane stamped on over painted look. Either that, or they're just being nasty.
I absolutely love you. You don't baby your subscribers you come back at them. Just love it.
One of my TOP favorite videos, Girlfriend.. Especially the Baby diarrhea color thingy you mentioned 🤣🤣🤣still dying to this day🤣🤣🤣
Less is more .. I feel like the beauty community wants us women to look like drag queens.
I think you may be onto something.....
@@definitelynotalizard the Welsh twins are great! I love Wayne Goss too!
Yes! Wayne Goss has a video about that!
Literally this! Soon we won't be able to tell people apart
The lines are blurring far too much
I love when your freckles are showing 🥰 And good on you for smiling at your haters! Keep being amazing
Charlotte started her Thursday and Sunday videos out with a jaunty tune. Where was it today,👸?? Yes, please, more. 😊💝
People with huge, shiny lips always makes me think of them eating pork ribs with their fingers.
Well, how else you gonna eat ribs!
Scott Barnes, referred to in the JLo post, has actually been doing her makeup since the early 2000s. He is a pro MUA who has worked with tons of celebs. So if he can't always get it right, what hope is there for the rest of us? 😜
I think the rainbow makeup would look better if the brows weren’t so overpowering.
And I don’t think Jeffrey Starr is all that great.
I think Jeffrey has good skills, but overdoes it 80% of the time to the point of just going drag. Which I don't even know if that's the intent or not.
He’s overrated
idk, he is a true youtube beauty guru, not a makeup artist at all
@@lonewolf8667 I sometimes wear the pastel colours (mainly from nyx), because I like that they are odd or can look a bit different, but more often I like dark/goth/punky colours. That being said, I lean away from browns/foundation coloured lips because I fear/don't like looking like Jeffrey's example in this video.
I have to hold myself from laughing too much with this video cause my makeup game is WEEEEAAAAKKK 😂😂😂
But not as bad some of these… I swear 😂🤞
I doubt it's that bad. You're beautiful without it. 💝
I don't wear makeup because I really suck at it but I don't think I could ever be this bad.
@@CerinayaI think the most difficult part about makeup is 1. Eyebrow execution and 2. Correct foundation colour lol and that happens to be what I struggle with most lol. My complexion is hard to find the perfect colour for - esp with my oily skin type
@@lulusfunvideos7071 I'm happy with my eyebrows as they are so they are no issue, but my skin is hard to match as well. I had one that was pretty close for a while but now is far too dark.
Charlotte, I love your natural makeup look. You always look beautiful!
I wear eyeliner and some blush. I have severe migraines, so lots of make-up is a NO. Charlotte, you are a queen. Don't even trip over the haters boo. It's because you look better than they do.
Your eyebrows are great Charlotte!! The haters that are contacting you NEED TO GET A LIFE AND QUIT TROLLING!!!! THEY CAN F AAAAALLL THE WAY OFF!!!
Girl, if you like the way you do the eyebrows that's all that matters. Just be happy with yourself and forget with everyone else says. Take care.
I don't use foundation either i feel like even the pasty shades don't match me plus throughout the day,it gets into literally every crack, line or mini line that you have on your face.
I couldn’t stop laughing and staring at this! I had 3 children and it really DOES look exactly same shade as baby poop. 😂😳
I always watch Charlotte’s videos as I’m getting ready in the morning. Now I’m questioning every makeup choice. 😩
I was just rewatching one of your older videos when the notification popped up 😎
Same!
Hey everybody , u have great eyebrows Charlotte ignore the haters the rest of us like u ❤️😜
Your eyebrows are fine! Don't listen to trolls behind a keyboard lady
I agree that you have great eyebrows!! I also love how you do your eyeliner! You always look well put together! F the ones who are just jealous!
Charlotte:”Guys I’m worried “ while dramatic music in the background 😂😂😂
Idk what these people are seeing but your brows are perfect for your face shape and your hair color. They just jealous..lolol❤
Yes, just jealous. They are amazing❣❣
Ladies, no guy has ever nudged his buddy and said, "Dude, check out her eybrows".
Haha not bc they were nice at least.
Yeah it's only other women who ever care, although I'm sure I'm not the only woman who couldn't care less what another women's makeup looks like.
Agreed! Women start accepting your brows for what they are naturally!
Same with eyelashes. No one says to his buddies, “Guys, I met a great girl today!” “Oh, is she pretty?” “Pretty? She has eyelashes for /days/….”
@@joannabertenshaw6150 Yes, I almost put that in my post.
Hey Charlotte 👋
Is it possible to get a "Hey Everybody" Merch?
Just trying my luck here😂😊
Awesome idea!
Yes!!!!
I second that motion!
Ooh, terrific idea
Whitening the skin is definitely a thing. There’s a whole black market of products that are meant to bleach the skin. I can’t remember the name of the documentary (or documentary series) that I watched, but it was mind boggling and eye opening at the same time.
I think it was called india's colour bias???
Charlotte fixed her brows amazingly. Im jealous!!!
Wooo!! Hey Charlotte!! ❤ my days already been made 🥳
Daily dose of laughter here I come!
I could see an 11 year old getting her makeup done for a wedding. But wow that was too much.
Charlotte, your eyebrows are perfect and so is your skin! If I could get away without using foundation I totally would!
Charlotte! Your brows are perfect. ❤
I'm totally jealous of Charlotte's eyebrows, they're amazing
We need a cross over with Charlotte and Bailey Sarian just doing makeup
I am so for this!!
I’d watch it!
I've always loved Charlotte's eyebrows I think they look great
Shout out to you Charlotte for giving us the best content 😂❤️ Keep doing your thing x
I love your brows and how you do your eyeliner. It's perfect!
Your brows are gorgeous! Someone is just jealous.
Ignore people. You’re quite beautiful. I wear zero makeup and I don’t care. If you don’t like it don’t look at me.
I never wear makeup because I can't stand the feel of it on my face.
I only wear makeup for special occasions besides that I just moisturize... My pro pic was me going to a club for my friend's birthday
I'm in my 50's & have never worn makeup my whole life. And since I live in Az. where the weather gets up to 130° - 135° in the summertime, every females makeup looks like that Salvador Dali painting of melting watches! 😅🤣😂
@@ellendingler5685 I knooow right my big sister and friend did mascara (if it's written right🤣) and foundation on me a while ago and my eyes felt soo heavy to open and that foundation AAAHHH the foundation sucked the life of me .. never have I ever went near those things again .. I do lipstick from time to time but started using shea butter 🤣 money well spent right there🌚👏🏾💙
Someone recently told me that he loves it that I don’t wear makeup. Who cares what anyone thinks or does? Do what feels right to you and be authentic
So, I JUST found your channel today and I am IN LOVE you your bright, engaging, and overall bubbly personality. I started watching you because of your wedding content (I'm getting married on June 21st of this year!) And you are so much fun to watch! Thank you for making all of these wonderful videos!
Aside from the brows, the Pride makeup and hair clips were cute
Charlotte, I love your brows! And makeup is always on point!
