Defold's Rive integration is the best out of any game engine. I'm really glad that the team will keep enhancing its runtime support!
Regarding video tutorials, perhaps experienced users can do without them. But if it wasn't for the videos on this channel, I would have never discovered or taken interest in Defold. Video tutorials are critical for getting new users at the door, imo.
Thank you for this interview, it was very insightful to hear more of the future plans for Defold!

Thank you for the video. I'm happy to know that Defold is going to focus on the 3D part a bit more. I know Defold is not tying to compete with the other engines in 3D but it still is important for making Defold a more viable option for new developers from both Godot and Unity.
Also, thank you for showing my Tiled video here despite my channel starting recently on making Defold tutorials 😊
Edit: Also had no idea you were in the development team. I thought you were a veteran Defold user who happens to be making tutorials on it as well

smaller code examples would do great. I think the 3D in Defold is okay, it's more of an editor issue. It's too much of a pain to view and preview things when working in 3D. At least when I tried it a few months ago. And having small code examples for setting up 3D would probably help a lot.

If videos and better documentation come out I might give it another go. But currently I have stopped using as the things I believe should be pretty simple like collision and camera control were too laborious to be worth me spending hours trying to get without any luck. There should be specialized videos to go over certain components as well as videos on different style of games. It is so easy to find making X style game in X engine. But for Defold that is severely lacking. Waiting for some hopefully good stuff

More video tutorials beyond the usual beginners stuff with more advanced features.

I just hope with all these features, Unfold will always be a small engine

Is there a book or ebook (better) that can be used to study defold?

Defold is good especially the small size the thing that could be added for more productive workflow are the drag and drop features and the input detection for keybindings i don't like searching in a big list also some better physics support and easier 3d workflow also a more extensive documentation especially for render script and source code and also some improvement in the code editor i like it but it could be better also editor tools like create custom editor tools will be good

The defold engine ecology is a problem and tutorials are scarce

In 2024 and if you wish to make pixel art games...you have to code your own viewport/resolution/display handler. Not like in Godot/Unity and most of other developersuites. This part is like defold is a framework. Don´t understand why such a basic thing isn´t included. This avoid people to use defold, i spoke with many devs over the last years.

There has to be a lua library somewhere to make it
