Man, his train of thought does not derail!!! Talk about enthusiast metal stream of consciousness!!! Whether you like metal or not, this is the most entertaining countdown video on music I have ever seen!!! Gonna miss you, metal brother!!!
You gave me a lot of musical knowledge... I knew Vektor, Disillusion, White Ward, Tribulation, etc because of you... and I´m pretty sure, a lot of people have met a lot of bands and music because of you... and that is a great legacy... thank you...
I'm so happy to see someone who loves maudlin of the well as much as me, it really does never get old! Thanks for the wonderful recommendations and insight man!
Rick King I’ve been seeing phantom antichrist fucking everywhere recently. I only own Kreator’s earlier stuff at the moment, but CKN brought this album up in a video he posted yesterday, so I checked it out. Was not disappointed
A lot of my personal favorites are on here as well. Sad to see you go, friend, but the decade or so I've spent lurking around you has blessed me with gems that I cherish to this day. Much love

Awesome to see By Inheritance as #1 on somebody's list. I'm surprised it didn't make CKN's Top 50, although it's possible that he hasn't heard of it. To me it's just as if not more entertaining as Rust In Peace and Master Of Puppets if we're talking about thrash.
My 10 in this area of music, no particular order: Carcass - Heartwork Black Sabbath - Paranoid Metallica - Ride the Lightning Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast Cryptopsy - None So vile Dissection - Storm of the light's bane Tool - Lateralus Elder - Reflections of A Floating World System of a Down - Toxicity Sleep - Dopesmoker
I found Agalloch because of you and cannot stress how grateful I am for that. You'll be missed online man, a true metalhead! I still keep those CD's you sold me.
Fuck man, I remember as a kid getting into RUclips and you were one of the first people I followed. Thanks for all your work over the years, you’ve helped me mold my music taste. You’ll always be remembered

Holy shit, Nails, AIC, Mastodon, Converge... I think we may be long lost brothers. Great list. However I probably would put Axe to Fall on there instead of Jane Doe, blaspemy I know.
Very great list on your end CKN. It’s gonna be a shame that we won’t get to see you on here full time anymore, but I look forward to seeing what your address is tomorrow, and then whenever you decide to peek in to say hi or have one of those streams. It’s good that we’ll get to see you down the line for sure man, and good luck on your next venture in life.
Happy new year CKN. Will miss you , came to know so many underrated bands through your channel. You’ve absolutely blessed me with my music life. Thank you so much.
CKN, we need these kind of lists from time to time. Would you like to reconsider your retirement decision (which I truly respect), and come out with a list at least once a year. I believe 1 video per year wouldn't be that much of a burden. Great respect for you and your hard work over the years!

I find it interesting that you chose Defenders of the Faith over Painkiller, Screaming For Vengeance, Stained Class and Sad Wings. Its a great album though, no doubt.
@@stephenhughes5156 I was 12 when screaming for vengeance came out, so that was a special one!...although I like, admire and respect the 70's albums, defenders came out when I was 14 and hit me at the right time!
I agree, Still Life is Opeth's true masterpiece. I like seeing Dissection in there too, Notdveidt was a genius who left us way too soon. Seeing Death's Symbolic made me feel nostalgic as well, with Carcass' Heartwork they were some of the first few albums that got me down in the extreme metal rabbit hole I'm still in.
This guy gave me a laugh and helped develop a interest in metal with his videos I started watching his videos hes giving fair opinions on the music he's reviewed I have to say thanks
Great video ckn, as expected a really interesting and unique list. Gonna miss you man! Surprised to not see Rush on here. Massively miss your year-end lists. The last 2 years have been so good for metal, and I always wondered what your list would look like. Hope you're good, my man.
Cheers for the Alice in Chains love, especially Devil Put Dinosaurs here. People seem to immediately write modern Alice off because Layne is gone. They are really missing out on some amazing work! Anyway, thanks for all your great content, and hope maybe if an album comes out down the road you have to share your thoughts about, you can drop a video again from time to time.

Wow. There are a lot of albums I like here. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, Rust In Peace, Superunknown, etc. Didn’t expect to see No. 4 here. Great album. Meteora by Linkin Park would have to be in my list of all time albums just due to how it impacted my childhood and introduced me to so many great bands. There are also no weak songs on the album too in my opinion. Anyways, nice picks. Can’t recall the exact time I discovered your channel but I think I discovered your channel in maybe 2014 or 2015. Sad to see you go man. Feel free to come back anytime :)
My list would include: (I don't have the 5 year rule) The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute (probably my favorite band of all time) The Ritual Aura - Taether (my favorite metal album of all time) Arsis - A Celebration of Guilt Old Man's Child - The Pagan Prosperity A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms Tool - Aenima Virvum - Illumanance (the album that got me back into buying music and going to shows after 15 years) Gorod - A Perfect Absolution (Gorod can do no wrong, but this album has some especially good composition) Be'lakor - Stone's Reach Inferi - Revenant (though I don't like the band, this album is really good) Dichotomy - Paradigms Persefone - Aathma (I don't like Spiritual Migration) Cradle of Filth (no specific album, they were just the band that got me into metal as a young teen) Abigail Williams - Legend Necrophagist - Epitaph The Odious Construct - Shrine of the Obscene Aeon - Rise to Dominate Opeth - Ghost Reveries Archspire - Relentless Mutation No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom (still love this album) Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory (hate the band now, but that was an influential album for me as a youth)
So happy to see maudlin of the Well ranked so highly here. A strong contender for my favourite band of all time. Maybe it's just a placebo effect from knowing that some of the music was composed while lucid dreaming, but it really does feel like there's something timeless and otherworldy (in the true sense of the word) living in the music. And I agree that they never, ever get old.
Bath is probably my absolute #1 favorite album. I feel like it literally expanded my mind and showed me what music could be. It might sound crazy but I feel like after I experienced it I changed. I noticed a change in me and it was very positive 🙏
Not placebo, they really did manage to get it out. I felt it before even knowing how it had been composed. It's just very dreamy. Maybe even in a shoegazy way sometimes if you know what I mean.
1. opeth - blackwater park 2. opeth - deliverance 3. opeth - still life 4. avenged sevenfold - nightmare 5. opeth - orchid as you can see, i'm very diverse :)
1,Reign In Blood - Slayer 2,Metal Church - Metal Church 3,Animals - Pink Floyd 4,Symbolic - Death 5,Dreamweaver - Sabbat 6,Powerslave - Iron Maiden 7,Death Alley - Zeke 8,No Sleep Til Hammersmith - Motorhead 9,Ted Nugent - Ted Nugent 10,Demon's And Wizards - Uriah Heep

Remember the 2012 list you made was my guidance for a long time in metal. Since then I have my own favorites cause you tend to veer to much toward prog but still will check all the albums on the new list I haven't heard. I'm pretty underground this days but all time Top is mainly major rock/metal releases: 1.Motorhead - "Overkill" 2. Guns'N'Roses - "Appetite For Destruction" 3. Metallica - "Kill'em All" 4. Darkthrone - "Transilvanian Hunger" 5. Led Zepelin - "Led Zepelin 4"
It's great to see and relish one last review video. It'll be sad to see you go man. Personal top 5: 1. Rust 2. AJfA 3. Revelations of Oblivion by Possessed 4. For All Kings 5. Hell Awaits
Rust In Peace is definitely number 1 of all thrash metal albums and "Hell Awaits" is a masterpiece from Slayer which leaves even "Reign in Blood" and "Seasons in the Abyss" behind. AJFA is the first Metallica albums I ever listened to but I prefer RTL and MOP. Anthrax made a very good albums during their later years and Belladonna is still one of the best metal vocalists. I actually have never heard Possessed.
Damn ive been rocking to that Possessed album many many times since its release. Its just awesome fuckin riffs after awesome fucking riffs. Rust and AJFA are also amongst my top 25
@@Rekko82 Revelations of Oblivion is a great album, I'd suggest it. Possessed was formative of death metal and the frontman of the band (who still fronts it today) was good friends with Chuck Shuldiner. Possessed made an album back in 1985 that influenced a lot of death metal acts, and then another great album the year later. They hadn't released anything since then until 2019 with RoO. But yeah, it's a great listen, all of their works are. They're pretty damn underrated imo.
My Top 10 of all time: 10. Too Fast For Love - Mötley Crüe 9. Animals - Pink Floyd 8. Appetite For Destruction - Guns N’ Roses 7. For All Kings - Anthrax 6. Master Of Puppets - Metallica 5. Spiritual Healing - Death 4. Painkiller - Judas Priest 3. II Lucifuge - Danzig 2. Rust In Peace - Megadeth 1. South Of Heaven - Slayer
1. The Smashing Pumpkins: Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness 2. Peter Gabriel: Us 3. Coil: The Ape of Naples 4. Tori Amos: Under the Pink 5. Boduf Songs: How Shadows Chase the Balance 6. Sarah McLachlan: Fumbling Towards Ecstasy 7. Jerry Cantrell: Degradation Trip (Vol. 1 & 2) 8. Garbage: Garbage 9. Fiona Apple: When the Pawn... 10. Sneaker Pimps: Becoming X
Going to really miss your reviews man. I think a lot of people should owe you some credit for so many albums you’ve helped us discover over the years. Thanks for all the good content 🤘🏼
Dude. You introduced me to a load of music that still is with me today. Thank you for everything and good luck for your future endeavours. All the best for you.

Awesome to see By Inheritance as #1 on somebody's list. I'm surprised it didn't make CKN's Top 50, although it's possible that he hasn't heard of it. To me it's just as if not more entertaining as Rust In Peace and Master Of Puppets if we're talking about thrash.

Very great list on your end CKN. It’s gonna be a shame that we won’t get to see you on here full time anymore, but I look forward to seeing what your address is tomorrow, and then whenever you decide to peek in to say hi or have one of those streams.

Be'lakor - Stone's Reach
Inferi - Revenant (though I don't like the band, this album is really good)
Dichotomy - Paradigms
Persefone - Aathma (I don't like Spiritual Migration)
Cradle of Filth (no specific album, they were just the band that got me into metal as a young teen)
Abigail Williams - Legend
Necrophagist - Epitaph
The Odious Construct - Shrine of the Obscene
Aeon - Rise to Dominate
Opeth - Ghost Reveries
Archspire - Relentless Mutation
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom (still love this album)
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory (hate the band now, but that was an influential album for me as a youth)
Relentless Mutation is amazing and Linking Park was also amazing for its time.
Maybe even in a shoegazy way sometimes if you know what I mean.
just your takes on the albums i know makes me realize i need to listen to every single one of these

Remember the 2012 list you made was my guidance for a long time in metal. Since then I have my own favorites cause you tend to veer to much toward prog but still will check all the albums on the new list I haven't heard. I'm pretty underground this days but all time Top is mainly major rock/metal releases:
1.Motorhead - "Overkill"
2. Guns'N'Roses - "Appetite For Destruction"
3. Metallica - "Kill'em All"
4. Darkthrone - "Transilvanian Hunger"
5. Led Zepelin - "Led Zepelin 4"
Just wanna say I wish you the best in the long run and I wanna thank you for all the great music you have introduced me too.
It's great to see and relish one last review video. It'll be sad to see you go man.
Personal top 5:
1. Rust
2. AJfA
3. Revelations of Oblivion by Possessed
4. For All Kings
