Lyrics:
With the illusion and fusion
The wandering few
Caught in the wire and tire
Starting anew
With a confession, a mission
Not letting us in
Cast into fire, admire obsidian
See the objections, connections
Speechless for you
I’m supersonic, bionic
Pulling us through
In the communion, the union
Walking away
The institution, conclusion
Obsidian
I’ll be damned

Swedish power trio MONOLORD return with their highly anticipated new album, Your Time to Shine. Recorded by MONOLORD drummer Esben Willems at Studio Berserk, Your Time to Shine sees the trio looking inward, cultivating the elements that take their monstrous, heavy riffing to new heights with a darker edge. A five-track journey that spans across crushing doom rock to more spacey, groove laden opuses, Your Time to Shine is MONOLORD at their most unfiltered and focused.
Out of the gate, MONOLORD kick-off a wild ride with the soaring, fist-raising opener “The Weary” and its insanely catchy melodies. Elsewhere, the stop/start switch between sweetness and abrasiveness of “To Each Their Own” showcases a new element to the band’s repertoire. MONOLORD embraces the power of the riff with pulsating chugs on “I’ll Be Damned” and the mind-expanding title-track, whose final section brings back some of the band's spaced-out rock n’ roll beginnings. Everything culminates in their new epic, “The Siren Of Yersinia”, whose lonesome call can be heard in each feedback-ridden note and in each pained, buried vocal line.
Your Time to Shine is yet another turn for MONOLORD. While the band clearly stays on “Riff Street”, they are poised to find darker avenues.
“Pulsating chugs.” Erotic.
Hell yes! 🌿🔥🖤
Monolords Vocals were always one of the Best and signature Monolord. Doom metal was always about riffs and subtle Vocals like this make An extra atmosphere that doom metal needs.
I don’t understand the wining about the vocals.
If you are familiar with the band this has always been Thomas’s style.
If you are not, doom or metal in general, and I’m no expert here, don’t necessarily have to be gritty and growly to fit and stand non judged.
In my humble opinion I think his voice creates a unique and beautiful contrast between the harmony and high call and the low and tuned down riffs.
just kinda reminds me of the vocals for sleep or electric wizard. is pretty standard
I never understood it either. I think the vocals work, but this track is all about the riffs imo
Agree!
Monolord wins, flawless victory!
🤘🏻✨
Good listen, love the riff.
I dont know why these incompetents clowns in comments trashtalking about vocal. Thomas great as always. Also vocal in this song isnt main, there is just a some.
Awesome
Another winner from Monolord! That FZ-2 fuzz is sounding as brutal as ever!
A bit HM2ish, doesn't it? Add am EQ peak around 1kHz after a fuzz and nastyness garanteed!
@@mhv91 Indeed!
Ooh, that's heavy!
For the people complaining about the vocals.. have you heard Monolord before? Maybe try, before you smack it. I bet the words are some to cling to as well....
🤘 Great Powerful Song 🤘
Always loud as hell🔥
Sick!
LISTENED to this on a whim. So glad I did.
Another good teaser song. Can't wait for the album's release.
Per usual, yet another song that melts my brain!!!
Really love the vocals.
Awesome and now I go down the rabbit hole!!
I think he's got cold robotic vocals that make the sound and fit well with the low tuned powerful fuzzy guitar that's why I liked em
I hope there's a track or two like Larvae from their last album...🤘🤘🤘
Darker than ever! 🖤
the riffs at 2:54 and 4:41 are timed SO PERFECTLY
💥💥💥
Crunchy. 🤘😈🤘
Excellent! Get back to Southern California!🤘🇺🇸🤘
Hell yeah we need more Doom down here 🤘
Sounds like modern music written in the past if that makes any sense at all
@DecrepitOrigin888 Right? hahah cheers dude. Have a nice one
Sabbath Worship
That's DIIIIIIIRRRRRRRTY.
💙🇮🇹Damned on Rock_Paradise🇸🇪💚
That riff is savage!
good doom as always from these guys
I was hoping this would suck so I wouldn't be tempted to go see them. The struggle continues... awesome
That badass FZ-2!
The Monolord comes crushing
Omg you guys are so GOOD!!!
Maravilloso 😍
Great as always
Awesome song 🔥🔥🔥🤘
Pre-ordered.....and here I sit waiting.....🕰
great record
Seems like a lot of people aren't familiar with the vocals of classic doom metal like Sleep and Electric Wizard. It originates with Ozzy on Black Sabbath's first couple of albums. Some other modern doom bands still do it too, like Pallbearer.
This band is so good live:)
Absolutely! I have had the opportunity to see them live a few times now and I was hooked after the first show 🖤🔥
Good stuff.
Unbelievable so believe able
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
If the vocals sound like a frog, and popeye the sailorman in a blender, you're mislabeling the genre. Death, thrash, hardcore, well that's okay. There's LOTS of bands I would call "doom", but when they grunt and growl, to where the words are unintelligible, they're not MY definition of doom. Thomas is no Freddy Mercury, but I understand the words, hence, the song. My playlist is all doom, with vocals you can hear. I slip a couple of death metal songs in for the GUITAR work. After all, I play doom guitar. Monolord fan for life.
🤘🏻
🤘
🤯
HM2 🔥
We all doooomed
Got my CD today but I STILL can't listen to it! I don't have a CD player and I can't d/l it from Bandcamp! W the actual F.

The door to doooom🚪☠️🔓🎼🇦🇹🖤🙋☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
this sounds very swedish
🇧🇷
Hello ' people HAPPY AUTUMN 2010 !🧡
Always top of the game
The sound lacks dirt
Awesome jams, but aside from the "I'll be damned" vocals towards the end I think this would be better purely instrumental
im not sure about these vocals but the riff are good
I love Thomas' vocals He's also the one slayin those riffs. The bassist is awesome too. This trio rips! Tone-heaven
I dunno, I feel like I've heard this exact riff so many times before. It's not bad per se, but it just feels lazy and phoned in. Maybe that's just what happens when doom bands release new albums every year and a half.
...and yet you'd probably bitch because any given band wouldn't release something for 5+ years......
Why this vocals babes!??
Great music...vocal sucks btw...
Maybe write an original sounding riff. Oh wait, you can't. Also, vocals are hot garbage. Biggest joke in Doom history here
What kinda stuff you rockin out to; brother?
Dude, what? Have you heard any other Monolord songs?
@@HeatMyShorts crack
Let's hear what you got.
Obviously you are not familiar with their first 3 records, clown.
