Partially based upon your review "hilariously fast" I bought the Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H 40mm. And I can say I love them, even after hundreds and hundreds of kilometers riding on broken asphalt, brick roads, easy gravel, mid-gravel, single tracks. all here in the Netherlands (where there are no hills). Never a puncture, still very fast, very little wear, still the auto correcting, awesome with storms from side and bumpy roads, it keeps me straight. Possibly preventing me with a crash when on a bump at the moment I was distracted. The opposite of a nimble tire, but works amazingly good for me. I highly recommend when you ride on hard surface
You are 100% my go to for gravel tire reviews. Because of you, specifically, the gravel H in 700 X 45 is my favorite tire of all time. And I just ordered the gravel M based on your review for an upcoming off-road triathlon through Xterra that is gravel bike course
As I have 650b wheels, I was a bit upset that the RCs aren’t available in that size so I went for the Gravel H. I am not upset anymore, thank you for that!
Pirelli just released the Cinturato RCX and I'm looking forward to a comparison with the M. So far, I haven't been able to find a better all-rounder than that tyre.
I was actually waiting for your review to decide whether to buy the RC or not, to replace the mixed terrain I use at the moment. Definetely not buying them HAHAH
I have the RC and used them on multiple bike packing trips, lots of road use, lots of gravel riding and even mountain riding. I'm in Scotland where it can get very hilly and in my experience the Gravel RC has been a fantastic all round tyre. I wouldn't knock them until you try them 😄
Thanks for putting together such great videos on the Pirelli Cinturato line! Do you have any idea why the “classic” tan wall variant of all three tires (M, H, and RC) are heavier than the black sidewall? Totally mystery, same compound and construction…
Thanks again for an impeccable review! I have a dedicated 650B gravel bike now and and the Gravel M in 650B x 50 are pretty sublime. Thanks for saving me money!
@@JeremyN207 no, I’ve done over 6000km on my 45mm tyres and they’re nowhere near at the end of their life. I reckon I could get close to 10,000 km from them.
To be honest I can’t really agree with this. I’ve been riding these in 40c in the UK for over 900 miles now on all sorts of terrain and found them perfect, grippy and fast rollig
Love my Cinturato Mixed in 40mm. Fast enough for road commute, perfect on fire roads and great for British gravel (aka mud). All that will change when they wear out is that I’ll move up to 45mm.
They are just perfect, I did Badlands with them and were just perfect. You could see at the start that most of the people where using them (mostly 45mm)
I've been using a Pirelli H/M combination setup for a while - local riding and races/events - and it's excellent. On hard surfaces, they roll really well. When it's loose, the front is grippy and predictable. Other tires (Challenge Getaway, IRC Doublecross, Specialzed Pathfinder) I've found to be vague on the initiation of a turn, and I end up being slow and cautious. The Pirelli M is precise and confidence-inspiring.
Hi! What do you think about a new Pirelli Cinturato Adventure tyre? This is like a H tyre but with more deep protector... 40-45-50 mm also... Is it interesting for testing at autumn =) or spring )) in AU?
Almost every other review on the RC considers it to be a better all-round tyre than the H. My personal experience mirrors that. I've owned all 3. RC is the happiest medium. I find that it rolls much better than the H on gravel. YMMV
I currently ride these in the 40mm and I can't say Im blown away. I have had both the hard and mixed and I think I'm going back to the hard after I wear through these.
@@JustRideAdelaide mainly commuting with some basic xc type riding on my gravel bike. The hard has my heart and will be going back on once I burn through the rc.
@@suney20I can’t speak on the other two Pirelli’s as I haven’t tried them, but I thought the RCs cornered well when I had them. Still one of my top 3 favorite tires
I have these in 40 set up with cushcore. I havn’t ridden in dry dusty conditions, but 2 races in Northern CA. High level competive racing. Switch back asphalt descents, into wet mud level 2,3,4 gravel, more mud, single track, potholes, these tires performed very well. Better than expected, and are rocket fast @ 35 psi and grip clear mud excellent. So in these conditions I have to disagree with your review.
I would like to see a review on the Schwalbe G-one bite. I just purchased them but I don't know how they stack up compared to other gravel tires like the Pirelli M
@@JustRideAdelaide na all good, I understand these videos take a long time to make. I went the g-one bite over the Pirelli mixed purely because of price, even after I watched your review on them saying they are your favourite
I'm riding the M version but they are very very slow tires. The are strong and durable but heavy and slow. Good grip but you need good legs to keep up with others.
I was also looking forward to the RC when they were announced. One of my upcoming races is 50% hardpack, 20% road, 20% bumpy farm roads, and 10% deep, sloppy mud. As far as I can find, there isn't a fast-rolling race tire with decent mud capability. I might have to give the Cinturato Mixed a try. Any other suggestions?
That's disappointing to read, given how good the Hards have been to me and the reviews of the mixed that this tire didn't perform better. Giving the schwalbe g one RS a go after many reviewers have it a positive review in a recent Ben Delany video.
Thundero is SO MUCH better than these, unless you're going for it purely for the puncture protection. Better RR, much better grip on dry loose stuff, much softer ride.
While the TufoThunderos in 700x44 are faster and more comfortable to ride over bumps and washboards on dirt roads, they don't have nearly as much grip as Pirellis Mix Terrains. Even so, the Tufo Thunderos are fantastic, and I'd love to hear James' opinion about them.
I'm now about six months in on my thunderos. definitely quick , pretty grippy and quite supple too. Maybe too supple for me actually- have found them a little sensitive to air pressures and also reasonably flat prone in city conditions. They have ahabit of picking up little pieces of glass and holding them in- stopping sealant from plugging. I like them a lot but I'm not fully sold- maybe I need a damper carcass.
I bought the H tires last year after watching your video about the M's. I really love them. I think I actually like them more than Gravelkings. I'd like to try Schwalbe G-One RS next, but I need to run the Pirellis down first. Might be a while.
These are complete garbage. mine leaks where the white wall meets the bead. they completely deflate within a day. And twice the price of many other tyres. dont waste your time or money

Could you make more videos my guy , you may not know this but when it comes to gravel you have the best videos

Wouldn't a Cinturato M (45mm) in the front and H (45mm) in the rear be the sweetspot?

Which is the best? The Pirelli Cinturato Gravel M, H or this? BTW your video is my favorite about Gravel biking

Puncturing is part of performance, if a tire punctures then it makes you ultimately slower because you'd have to fix the puncture.
