Great video and tip, I knew they had to make pinions with the D hole. I just red loctited my pinion this weekend, if it doesn't hold up I'll have one of these Aarma pinions in the toolbox ready to go. When I take the motor out to sand the shaft, I'm also going to put the divot in for the grub screw to set in. And red loctite will be going back in.
I dont know if you run the gear cover with the little bearing inside....but this is ment for it with the little plastic comes with the truck on the motor shaft
Haven't drilled into the shaft cause I'm worried about the balance. Then proceeds to grind off shaft for other gear. Way easier fix would be to drill a small divet into the shaft that the set screw can sit in. But there is always more then one way.
@@Nkkqkkn dang seriously!? You shaved it down and everything? If this didn’t work for you my other suggestion is to drill a tiny hole in the shaft where the grub screw can fit down into it. Sorry the arrma pinion didn’t work, I bashed the heck out of it and it didn’t fall off.
Yes I shaved it down, what is happening is the grub screw is getting completely shaved down where no pressure is holding it to the shaft anymore causing it to fall off. I’m just completely confused on how it is getting shaved down because I used an upgraded grub screw and I’m using the Arrma pinion.
@@Nkkqkkn only thing I can suggest is what I said before about drilling a hole so the screw will sit in it. There are also pinion gears that have 2 grub screws.

Also! Make sure to put loctite on the shaft itself first, let it dry, then put the pinion on!
great tip👍

Hey it worked lol. I would have drilled next if this didn’t work
I’ve tried that. Doesn’t work
Id love see you get into nitro also as your electric energy ie already amazing
We will soon enough
I did this upgrade about 2 weeks ago, I put red lock tight on the grub screw and it still falls off😢. Any suggestions?

@@LifeOfBallen thanks for all the tips I will give them a shot!
@@Nkkqkkn also can check out the tekno pinion heads, they have a 2.5 hex screw
