Ava Gardner is one of the most beautiful woman that I have ever seen and from that time period. Frankly I feel that if you brought her back to life now as a 20 year old, 30 year old, and placed her next to ANY movie star of today she would blow them out in every aspect.

Her beauty is so rare; perfect bone structure and very natural and doesn't need a lot of make up nor fake eyelashes. Natural full lips and didn't need to dye her hair blonde to be a bombshell. Her height (5'8") is proportional to her slender body. Absolutely gorgeous.

In an old copy of "The Oxford American" there is a wonderfully written piece by a man who was only a boy in the community in NC where Ava lived as she was coming of age. He was privy to the conversations of well-heeled men as they discussed the beauty of Ava, and he relates how whenever she made an appearance all other females were cast in shadow and how she always appeared oblivious to her extraordinary physical gifts, friendly and outgoing. That copy of OA will be among the effects I leave behind.

A lovely lady, who was married to Frank Sinatra at the above time (1951-57) and Frank tried to get her to take voice lessons, but that was not her prime interest. She had a nice, melodic but understated voice, though, and was dubbed a few times when I thought she shouldn't have been. Not sure why, because I know of at least one instance where she was better than the woman who sang the song that she lip-synced! RIP, Ava, you will never be forgotten!

Smoking was probably her undoing, she had bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchial tubes of the lung) off and on, and she died from pneumonia (acute inflammation of the bronchia and alvoli (the air sacs in the lung). Beautiful lady and talented actress, one of the best of the most popular of her day. And yes, smoking does age you, especially the skin, but the worst is what it does to the lungs.

She is so wonderfully beautiful and breathtaking to look at. I am currently reading a 500 page biography. It is fantastic and hard to put down. She will always be a great role model to me. It is said that many,many men wanted her,and I can see why. It is a shame that she is no longer with us. I would do anything for that day, but that is not ever going to occur.

Ava had the most earthy, exotic beauty of the screen goddesses. No film ever really fully captured her beauty for some reason tho...except for The Killers IMO (and in it the first Hollywood actress not to wear make-up on screen except for lipstick & vaseline). That was her peak. Yet, of all her roles, in a heartbeat, I'd have settled for Maxine Faulks in her wee hilltop hotel in Mexico....at the tail-end of her beauty. Hahaha
And for the record....Garbo was the number one screen goddess.

Ava was a natural beauty,her pale skin looked so beautifully unlike today where being pale skinned is considered ugly in 2019 to be pretty means have a tan and loads of make up false lashes ,nails even hair ha.im dark like Ava and I do get tanned in the summer other than that I'm pale skinned with dark features and to some that's not pretty but I can relate to Ava as I too embrace pale natural make up and I'm into old skool fashion music and era .Ava is an inspiration to women to be of amore natural being.
