I wish Doppler became a Maverick Hunter... he redeemed himself at the end, and even more: he was able to create a vaccine for the Sigma Virus, something no one else was able to replicate. He truly was the greatest menace Sigma encountered and may have been able to finish it all.
Miguel 16310 Well Doppler was a temporary threat thanks to X but Sigma probably wouldnt even consider Doppler as a threat. More or a less just a help. Also Doppler being a Maverick Hunter is unlikely because Doppler is just supposed to be a one game villain like the X-Hunter's Leader's.

I think it was retroactively explained that Sigma would have been gone for good at the end of X3, but Gareth and Berkana somehow brought him back in Xtreme 2, much like how Gate did in X6
