- alone in oslo, norway!! i stayed in oslo for three nights on this solo interrail trip. in this video, i went sightseeing around the city and strolled through some really nice neighborhoods of oslo. the next oslo vlog should be very nice with brunch, swimming, and shopping with a friend!

As a Norwegian who lives in Oslo, I enjoyed your video. Brown cheese is usually put on a slice of bread, on waffles etc. I also eat reindeer (skav with lingonberry jam and mash potatoes) once a week, tho not many does and seen as old fashion. Most Norwegians unless the elderly don’t eat Norwegian traditional food, but tacos, pizzas, sushi, burgers, Thai, Indian, and Korean food etc. Being 36 and a true Millennial growing up in the 90’s and 2000’s I was probably one of the last who grew up on traditional Norwegian food, my parents being old and conservative, and my relatives are farmers (meat and dairy production) compared to my Norwegian peers who had younger parents… traditional foods are seen as typical farmers food, like potatoes, carrots, and your source of meat: pork, lamb, fish or beef. If fancy we would have wild game like reindeer or moose. Even whale meat. I even grew up on horse meat (black sausage), and pigs blood🤣🤣🤣 And yes our royal palace is shit compared to others in Europe as Oslo is a tiny city🫠😝🤭 And you obviously went to the wrong place as most ethnic Norwegians wouldn’t eat traditional foods at restaurants, but make it themselves at home🤷🏾♀️ I’ve never heard of anyone or eaten it my self at a restaurant before. More during my childhood at any roadside restaurants, they will have traditional dishes like wild game😅 And yes down pours are normal here. Anyone who is familiar with Norway knows our weather is famous for being unpredictable. Always check the weather forecast and even so don’t trust it blindly because you never know. Always bring sunglasses and an umbrella as well as a jacket. In one day it can seem as though all season has passed💀
Sabine thanks for sharing. Norway is one of my top places I want to spend lots of time exploring. Like many, my Nana and Pop immigrated from there and we still have family there. You really gave a cool vignette of that area! And I found your “Squirrel!” moments amusing and refreshing! Tusen takk!

Hey Sabine, have you ever encountered bed bugs in your hotel rooms? I'm pretty scared and just wondering if you have any tips.
Hi! Thankfully I haven’t, but I always check my rooms the second I get in. Make sure you use your phone flashlight and pull back the sheets, inspect the mattress, and around the bed frame. I know it’s such a scary thing, but if you check before, you should be good!
