In DK Jungle, if you time the jump into that crevice JUST right, you don't even have to fall in the water and it counts as you did the whole lap. Try this!
in royal raceway you can hike the mountain on the right of the jump, not a cheat, but a funny thing :) Nice video, i wanted to do this today, but you did something better!
Either the guy is confused about what game this is or he meant these glitches/shortcuts were fixed in a later print of the cartridge. It was not uncommon for games of the time to get improvements between the release version and a later print. Typically the player would not see the difference unless you dug through the code to see what version of the game you had.
The way they did that back then was new revisions on new prints of the cartridge. Go look at ROMs of games and you'll see what I mean. Sometimes there's later versions where things were fixed (version 1.1, 1.2, etc)

Okay here's a question about a glitch that I've ALWAYS wondered about. So you know how when you're far away from the computer players (you can also see this on the map), they don't explode when they get hit by shells or the chain chomps and launch into the air completely like you do as a player? Sometimes they're just launched into the air about a foot and keep going right away? I've been able to do it only when I'm going really fast, but is there a way to ACTUALLY do it whenever? Not sure if anyone can answer this.
+Jose Gomez I don't believe that's a glitch. If you're not close to the ai they will not go in the air with a red shell. Apart from a green shell. In my opinion, it was designed this way. Just like the rubberband ai will usually catch up with you.

I once did the one shown at 6:27 and as I was falling I somehow completed a lap, then I was placed just before finish line, went over it and I started lap 3. This glitch got me a 12 second lap in Jungle Parkway. I've done this one time and never could achieve same effect again.
Most of these I couldn't complete or when I did I got a different result so I question if some of these work on all versions. Anyone have good results? Oh and yes I'm talking about N64.
It's missing the glitch in kalimari desert, when u have a star, enter in the second train line and use the star, and then u will receive a lap when u enter the tunnel (it only work with a star) [sorry about my english], may i helped
I'd hesitate to call them flat out cheats. More like exploits and unintended shortcuts. You're not actually "breaking the rules of the game" so much as utilizing loopholes.
these cheats work only on the computer right? cuz its impossible to jump like that on the nintendo 64. can someone help me, im confused. and if you actually can jump like that, how do you do it??
the last one is hard to execute.. i only ever did it all 3x once on Time Trials, i was close to the finish line and freaking chain chomp ensured my time didn't get saved lol

The trick on Koopa Troopa Beach can be done at normal size with a mushroom or by hoping at the top of the ramp. Both will get you in the tunnel.

On Rainbow Road if you curl even more you can hit the farther left side on the roundabout, cutting off 20 more seconds.

On Rainbow Road where you make the big Jump. If you jump off to the right you can land on another part of the track and skip time.
