I think the reason why Wreck-Gar and other Junkions' alt modes weren't in-scale was because they were supposed to be able to be ridden by fellow robots. So, using another Junkion as a typical rider foe this, it technically IS in scale.
You mentioned the alt mode scale, but one thing to remember is that Hot Rod, Rodimus, and presumably Kup were the right size for human riders, Wreck-Gar was meant for robot riders. For me at least that excuses the giant bike 100%.

Thanks for the review. This was the only transformer toy I owned as a kid. I'd forgotten about the heat activated sticker. Back in the day that was the most high tech thing in the world. I remember playing with this in the pub on my birthday and having all the other kids gathered around.

this takes me back to Christmas 1986 when I really wanted all these figures after seeing the movie that same year. I didn't get any of them but I got Ultra Magnus and Shockwave. Great review and thanks for the nostalgic trip to my youth.

G1, while incredibly blocky, was very sturdy and didn't break as easily as the later versions.

IMO G1 reviews are pretty cool, mainly cuz there's not that many HD videos of them
Great review and I loved the skit but you forgot about RONCO!!! LOL.
I love it when you rub the rubsigns. Which are called rubsigns, indicating they're meant to be rubbed. Your glee at the people who get angry when you rub the rubsign only rubs it in deeper, and makes me giggle.

Technically if Wreck-Gar is a motorcycle designed to be ridden by another transformer, and Hot Rod and Kup are vehicles designed for humans, then the scales fine! Just don't let fortress maximus try to ride him...

fun story, got my own wreckgar in 87/88 from a pen pal in the states since not all G1 where available here in sweden, hand well internet dident exist, he actully did die on me in for the last time in 2010 (lost his left arm) when i moved to my current aparment, so i took him to the range and put him out of his misery, .22lr and well he is in a better junkion now :p

maybe you are reviewing an old toy, but an old toy that I didn't have, and it's good to see how it transforms. I always wanted to see how the motorcycle of robotech transforms, and someoday I will see it.
The ending was funny and now the 6 o'clock news Blam!!! Lol

Wreck-Gar isn't really off-scale since he's supposed to turn into a motorcycle rideable by other giant robots.

Ahh, G1. I remember them being the best thing ever through nostalgic eyes but they really were bricks with arms.
Loved him when I was a kid. I do remember that mine had a weird plasticky/rubberry smell though.
I don't think collector like rubbing the rub cymbal because they think it will fall off
G1 is the best and it never was a bad thing growing up with half a head I was happy just to have that transformer. I have a few older and newer in my collection but you definitely got me beat 😀 happy hunting on more G1 and newer transformer collections- BudBri

Kinda late but I wanted to say these motorcycle are big because they transformed to motorcycle for Cybertronian not for humans, so any giant robot can mount them

Reprolabels can make some figures look better than they did before and that Wreck-Gar you have needs a fresh set of labels.
I saw on ToyHax's YT channel the new Groove set and they knocked it out of the park. You thinking of doing an update once the new stickers are on so we can see how it looks?

I have to say I loved the Wreck Gar character in the animated movie, especially as he was voiced by Month Python member Eric Idle.
The TF Animated crew tried to get him to voice their Wreck-Gar, but he was busy with another project at the time! So they went with their plan B guy: Weird Al!

i think one of the generations starscreams is very similar to the armada toy, other than that i don't think so.

If I had to guess people probably don't like you rubbing the rub symbol because that could cause the sticker to rub off, and because you can activate it by just holding your thumb on it, without rubbing. I don't mind it, you do you, just giving my theory as to why some people do
