Your article is quite interesting, but I would suggest there are more serious issues as to pricing that most people will 'forget'. It is not unusual to go looking for a hosting provider, i.e. Name Hero, Blue Host, Site Ground, etc. One then picks the recommended plan at a really good price. They fail to do due diligence on pricing and then later they find that the second and subsequent years the price has dramatically risen. Once the provider has 'sucked' you in the will raise the prices for subsequent years. Of the companies mentioned above - the first raise the prices by about 255% and Site Ground raises their prices by about 500%. As you are on auto renewal you may miss this beginning the second year and then the company is really pulling in your money.
It would be nice to find a company that will give you the price the first, second, etc. years that is the same! Does anyone know of such a company as opposed to the ‘hidden’ cost of a major price jump from the first to subsequent billing cycles?
    Thanks - Ken

I've been using Name Hero for a couple of years and have been completely satisfied with the performance and service. Previously I was with A2 and they also had great service. At the time I switched to Name Hero, upgrading from the basic hosting plan to LiteSpeed at A2 was considerably more expressive than making the switch. Maybe pricing at A2 is different now. Glad you made this video. I've been telling anyone who asks about hosting to check out Name Hero but they all pass because they have never heard of it. Looking forward to your LiteSpeed tutorial.

how would one then compare any 2 services?
my current host offers...well hosting, so i just drop in my wordpress files and do it the manual way. applications and autoinstall are supported but not fan of them.
how would one then compare services? i mean you have access to a dozen of companies, is there any script or anything one can use to compare? i'm not sure if/how much performance i'm loosing for my hosting company, also would try to run that on cheap VPS and see the diff, I currently rent about 5 or 6 VPS' for many many thinngs...
ideas?let's stick with WP even tho i host an ammount of weird things
before anyone asks, my hosting plan is 50€ per year, with .com domain and protection
unlimited websites, emails, bandwidth, databases and whatever else
    10gb ssd space
my plan is bit more expensive as the cheaper one has 5gb space and does not include ftp subaccounts

Back again... Just got namehero and bunny cdn. So to clarify. when you hook up bunny cdn it takes a bit to propagate at first, but will load quickly the first time even if a person has never visited the site before? Because its ready to be delivered before requested the first time? If so. WOW. Seems to be working this way as I do the speed tests.. then purge the cache... wait... then do speed test again... If I test too quickly it has a 3 second load time, but after I wait a few minutes it can be under 1 second. This is after purging.

I tried this and set as suggested but it's caused my site to grind to a halt today. The reason being, according to cpanel, my I/O Usage is maxed out at 100% together with a very high Physical memory usage. My hosting provider informs me it must be down to too many CRON calls. I unchecked the 2 php extensions and changed the LiteSpeed Cache selections back to default and things seem to be back to normal. I need to research and understand CRON better to figure out what went wrong and if I can change some other parameter to allow me to enable caching again.

Adam, I don't understand.. Siteground uses caching also, right? What's the problem with their caching?

This all sounds fantabulous BUT - I have more than pennies of sound files that are in play on my site - plus the fact that I just (in the last few months) moved from iPage to HostGator for all three of my sites 😫

Why do we need a host. I am perfectly happy with WP on its own and I don't have any of the problems I hear bloggers crying about every single day.

So where does Cloudflare rate in your opinion, its free? This was helpful using both together -

What would you say about this lower cost hosting companies and bandwidth and amount of users at the same time visiting website? Does it handle the speed of a website as WPengine ?

    Great video Adam! :)
It should be noted however that to get Litespeed on A2 you need one of the Turbo plans. Startup and Drive do not have it available.
That said, I just this week switched to the A2 Drive plan (may upgrade, but for now Drive is fine for my sites) and used their free migration. Awesome service! Six sites in less than 24 hours, including all email accounts! :) Did I mention that was free? :)
    Cheers!
    Lyle

Wow! This is an amazing helpful VDO! Thank you Adam! I have hosting with LightSpeed and even before your VDO's my sites were fast. This VDO put a lot more 'zip' to them!
REQUEST: Yes, please do a VDO on LightSpeed, I'd love to learn more. As always.. m(_ _)m
