What a great review, brother. I recall the jaw-dropping experience I had when you introduced me to Dave M and his superb M4 a number of years back. I can’t wait to hear the new M5. Well done.
I felt that I knew exactly where you were going with that Greg, the point where you shifted them to your second space (a system more suited) .... and hence getting a more cohesive presentation.... It would have been a VERY uncommon loudspeaker that can scale up to a system of some 100x their price.
No doubt. I think you know that I don't believe in "Giant Killers," at least not in the sense of its broadest application. There simply isn't a $2,000, or even $10,000 stereo or set of mono amplifiers out there that I've heard that will best something like the Audionet Heisenberg's, the CH Precision L10s, the Soulution 701s, the TLA SSP-350s, etc... BUT, there are overachievers, products whose overall performance has them punching well above their weight class, at nearly every price point and in every product category... Those are the kinds of products I will highlight here on the channel when I identify them... The M5 are in that category of product.
Hey, buddy... No, not at this time. While I very much LOVE what they do, I'm trying to stay with my "keeping it real" philosophy here, by staying with overachieving vintage products, or - at least - gear that is more affordable to more people. I hope that makes sense... 😏
