Your video informed me that there was a "vacation switch" that was pressed, not allowing my 42" Hitachi plasma to not power on. I depressed that switch, allowing power to flow, and my TV turned on again - without wasting time or money trying to repair a TV in perfect working order. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Steve I had the same tv with the same fault as your tv.I repaired the power board with 2 capacitors and then after watching your videos I tested and then replaced both buffer boards.I just received the buffer boards today from China and then installed them and now the tv works.Many thanks for uploading your videos.If you need advice on any washing machine just ask.Kind regards Peter and Lu.
Not that I know of. There are common items, and then there are items that are unique to the type of TV, and also manufacturer. The first Sony TV I ever repaired was a 19" trinitron. this was pre remote control, the kind you turned a knob to change channels. There was an SCR, silicon controlled rectifier that was bad in this set, we crossed it to an aftermarket part, replaced the part, and it failed within a day. I learned that day, Sony is a little special. The Sony part fixed it right.

i have the same tv haveing a problem with the sound. the right speeker works the left one does not speekers are new and work when hooked up in a different tv ...what could be my problem
stevewatr I have this same tv, but a different issue. I did a bit of my own research and found that the capacitors may be causing my issue. After replacing them, my tv still does now power on and there is not an indicator light or blinks from the front of the tv. It is almost as if it is not getting any power at all. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks!
Hey Steve I have a Hitachi 55dhx62 55" plasma TV. Was watching it the other night, feel asleep 30 mins later or so I woke up and no picture. Sound was still on. So bottom line I still have good sound when I turn the tv on but not picture at all. Any suggestions. I posted my problem on youtube under: Hitachi 55hdx62 sound no picture. Thanks for your help!!

I had a 65" sony rear projection with a blown thermal fuse. Do these flat screen tv's have that protection?
