    Oh flip I didn’t realise you’d done your Achilles tendon. That’s one of my biggest fears in life. Hope you’re recovered soon!
    Battle Royale is fab.
    Also, I literally just bought Hawk Mountain following one of your previous recommendations of it.

      if it makes you feel any better, the injury itself was pretty painless! honestly didn't even make my top 10 for most painful experiences lol

    That injury sounds really painful, but also like you got it being a badass. I hope you're healed up quickly.
    Threats sounds amazing to me. I've discovered over the past couple of years that I really like literary fiction that deals with dark themes. I just finished White is for Witching and I seem to be in the minority of people who enjoyed it. I'm intrigued by Hawk Mountain, but I also have a weird thing about people being put in uncomfortable and awkward social situations (like that movie Speak No Evil, which I won't watch). Things like that make me anxious.

    • @superblomper
      @superblomper  Год назад +1

      it surprisingly wasn't painful really at all, shockingly! i think most people cringe at the thought of snapping their achilles, so i've been trying to assuage their fears haha ty for the healing thoughts (〜^∇^)〜
      i totally agree, 2022 converted me FULLY into a lit fic girlie and lit fic as a genre contains some of the most disturbing books i've ever read. i sincerely hope that if u end up reading threats, u love it! it itched a scratch in my brain that i didn't even know i had!!
      i will say with hawk mountain, it's really not awkward social situations (i too cannot handle ppl embarrassing themselves in public, i nearly die of cringe) it's more this underlying uneasy feeling because it feels like every interaction is on the cusp of violence over their unresolved issues from high school. even the scenes describing the bullying aren't that embarrassing or awkward imo. i'd say give it a try & you should be able to tell pretty quickly if their interactions make you too anxious.
      thanks for being here ٩(^◡^)۶

      @@superblomper I'm glad the injury wasn't as painful as I would imagine.
      Threats is available through my library, so I hope to get to it soon.
      I probably didn't describe my weird anxiety thing very well - it's less embarrassing situations and more when people are being really strongly imposed upon and either are unable or unwilling to stand up for themselves or push back. It makes me super frustrated. Like in the film Mother! But my library has Hawk Mountain too, so I will check it out.
      Thank you for having such an awesome channel 🥰!
