  • Rare 1998 CLUB DC TV interview with Melanie Thornton and Lane McCray of Eurodance power duo, LA BOUCHE. Hosted by Bryan Davis. At the time, La Bouche was on tour stateside in support of their second album, S.O.S (entitled 'A Moment in Love' in Europe) - highlighting the single "You Won't Forget Me." The interview was conducted in a stretch limousine (to save time) that had been hired that night for their gig in Washington DC. Only the audio survives from the actual interview.
Vocalist Melanie Thornton died tragically in a plane crash in November 2001. She was tall, beautiful, kind and extremely gifted. This video is dedicated to her memory.
LA BOUCHE (French for "The Mouth") was founded in 1994 by record producer Frank Farian in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He worked together with techno DJ Ulli Brenner and producer Amir Saraf to produce the music, while American singer Melanie Thornton and American rapper, dancer and backup singer Lane McCray fronted the act.
Prior to forming La Bouche in 1994, Melanie Thornton and Lane McCray were lead vocalists in a German cover band called Groovin' Affairs. While touring with the band in various parts of Germany, Thornton also did regular studio session work with producers Amir Saraf and Ulli Brenner. Eventually, Thornton asked her bandmate McCray to join her in the recording project.
