When I lived in Germany in the 90s I seen La Bouche perform in some of the clubs in Germany they were real good
Melanie Thornton was a phenomenal talent!!! Her voice was extra ordinary good and she had it all to become the next Donna Summer. Sadly she died too soon.
A true classic ,2023 I still blasting this songs everyday on my way to work,I’m forever her fan.
Truly gone to soon ,she would have a huge huge megastar if she was alive today ,that voice was so versatile she would have our 90s diva .

Yeah, there was a time when having talent meant having heaps and heaps of actual fucking talent, as opposed to today's world, in which Milli Vanilli look relatively talented and honest.
Autotune didnt exist in 2001 ... She is singing on top of a backing track even though shes singing live there's still her backing vocal track on the backup vocals as its custom still to this day. Which ironically was what went wrong with milli vanilli and we know the rest of that story. But she was pure talent and a very powerful voice i would go as far as to say that her and martha walsh are the best techno vocals of all time. Too bad she passed away so young (just 34) and in such a tragic death.
Erick Stengel Autotune existed when Def Leppard starting using it back in the 80's to change their voice. It wasn't auto back then and you actually had to do it on a sound board.
+Erick Stengel AutoTune has been around since the '90s, it was popularized by Believe by Cher. And yes, she may be singing on top of a backing track as was the norm in the '90s, but the difference is that the backing track is also her, while Milli Vanilli had some less attractive but more talented singer do the backing track. Also, Melanie Thornton almost always deviates from the backing track at the apex of the song, plus, she's sung without a backing track on at least one occasion - there's a video on RUclips of her singing Be My Lover live accompanied by a live band, which sounds fucking amazing.
