Den-O was pretty amazing like: 1. Actor, Takeru Sato's first debut was this 2. Recognizable Voice Actors 3. Hilarious No wonder why it was ranked no. 1 series in Japan
I love den o. Great suit work, great suit actors, great performances, the characters are all dynamic and interesting. All the imagins are fantastic and you really grow to care about them. The action is fun and goofy and it feels like a great throw back to older toku. And then there's the soundtrack, which is just fantastic. Den o tried to do something truly unique as a rider series and it blew it out of the water. I mean it speaks for itself with the countless movies lol there's a reason he's become the face of the franchise.

I absolutely love how the translators at Toei managed to localize Momotaro's dialogue. It may not be a direct translation, but it captures his personality perfectly, and it is one of the reasons why I would love to see them sub the rest of this show. In the fansubs, Momotaros is just some guy throwing cuss words left and right and saying some very strange things (thanks to the literal translations). I would LOVE to see Toei's translators play around with the other Taros. I remember how TV-Nihon basically gave up trying to translate some of Kintaros' dialogue, but I think with some creativity you could easily make some suitable translations for him.
Shame they're only doing two episodes... hopefully once Ryuki and 01 are subbed on ShoutFactory they'll consider Den-O. It IS one of their most popular seasons after all

@Jeffery Tang I'm sorry you're not a fan of 01 (I haven't seen it yet so I can't say anything one way or the other), but the fact of the matter is that this is the only series they got the physical media rights for. If the Bluray bombs, we may never see another physical release of Rider in the states. I agree that other series like Gaim could be bigger hits, but this is the hand we've been dealt. Even if you don't like the show, it doing well makes it more likely that a show you do like has a shot in the future. I'm not saying you have to buy it. Spend your money how you want. But these are the facts. This is the first shot Rider has had in the US physical media market since The First and that obscure Hawaiian V3 set, so it's gonna need to make a big splash to keep this ball rolling. So even if you don't buy it yourself, if you want other series to come out you have a vested interest in 01's success.
I going to really miss this show...Also, that hospital scene really hit home to me since i did lose my aunt at a hospital...she die right before holiday too...
I freaked out at the hospital scene as well, my mom was in hospice, and I went home to shower and get a few changes of clothes after she was admitted, thinking I could sleep a few hours while the nurses got her all settled, and four hours later they called and said she passed. I still think I failed her by not being there when the time came. So yeah, that scene hit me HARD.
I never cried so much at any show at all compared to this episode. My mother was put in a nursing home last year and she was just in such a hopeless state of dementia. And then just so many things on TV reminded me of her. I ended up seeing this episode for the first time after she was in that state and couldn't stop crying. I still can't handle it. Mom died of coronavirus early this year and we never had a way to say goodbye. She probably wouldn't recognize me or care anyway (thanks to how drugged up they made her...) but God... I couldn't visit her in the hospital because of the virus and they basically had her in a coma or something to try to prevent damage. And they still couldn't save her. We should all get a real chance to say goodbye. My grandmother died too and I never got last words with her either, so this reminds me of what a failure i am as a person.
Or, they can actually do the work themselves considering they are a company that’s been around since 1951 (current company version) and more than likely have the finances and employees to subtitle, edit and everything else they need to do.

Thing is, Imagin tend to make it so that it's fulfilled to THEIR specifications, from what I've seen. So, really, all you've done is give the Imagin a blank check they can cash whenever.
For some, 2 episodes many may feel is not enough but i think it being best like a small appetizer that is gives tease to one's appetite towards wanting to purchasing the main course. Personally, seeing these 2 episodes myself i feel it be worth buying the Den-O series, not only to enjoy seeing the rest of the series but to re-enjoy watching it at my own leisure :3

Plus it's a crazy different type of plot for a season with a lot of serious mixed with the comedy.
We're not just get a comedy, but we also get the sadness. That's why i love this series.
