    You said: "Mixolydian chords make the light shine down on you and your relatives." Amazing. My son loves mixolydian chords and this song keeps coming to my mind. He recently passed away too soon. Thank you for this! Anyone reading this know you are loved and ask for love if you are hurting. You will surely get the help you need and deserve. Be good to your wonderfully sensitive musical self. You and your music are gifts to the world. So needed. Thank you all guitarist. I know my son is in a band with Jimmy Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Micheal Dhalquist in heaven🐋💕🥰

      Laura I am so very sorry to hear of your loss and extend you the greatest virtual hug imaginable. I know sons are 14 levels higher than cats on the grief spectrum, but I lost the favorite feline friend who will ever exist for me to a liver disease at 8 years old last week, which was too soon as well. Not to make this about me, just to say that I'm sitting on a far corner of the same bus with you. Much love friend.

    William Tager is a murderer and currently free who beat up television reporter, Dan Rather, in 1986 in New York City, and asked Rather, " Kenneth, what is the frequency?" while he was beating up Rather. A doorman stopped Tager from hitting Rather and Tager escaped. Tager asked Rather, "Kenneth, what is the frequency" because he thought Television was beaming messages in his head, and he could stop these messages from being beamed in his head by knowing the frequency. In 1994, Tager tried to enter NBC studios where they film the "Today Show", but was stopped by Campbell Montgomery, a NBC technician, in which Tager then pulled out a gun and shot and killed Montgomery.

    Request: “Missing” by Cliff Poncier (Chris Cornell) It sounds like an alternate tuning but I’ve seen people play it in standard.

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  5 лет назад +1

      it absolutely sounds like an alternate tuning... like one of the open major chord tunings, and like you're just moving the one finger barre shape all around. It sounds familiar, I think we can figure that out. Thanks Ryan!

    This is my favorite REM song. Great lesson - thanks so much. It’s super fun to play I’m just trying to figure out how to dial it into my Marshall DSL 40CR. I’m terrible with that stuff. I’m using the classic Gain channel on red with the dial on 3 (about 10 o’clock) - is this in the zip code of what a reasonable gain should be for this song?

    • @RyanLendt

      thanks Mike :) where the nob goes depends wholly on the amp, the pickups, the way you play, and your particular preference. I'm afraid I cannot comment from afar on that one.

    What do you mean by it starting in A Mixolydian? Isn't D A G in D major?

    • @RyanLendt

      DAG is definitely D major - I wonder what I was referring to..

    • @doozledumbler5393
      @doozledumbler5393 3 года назад

      @@RyanLendt Sorry, I watched it a few more times.I think you were saying it's A mixolydian in the verses but D major in the intro and Chorus. I thought you initially said it was A mixolydian in the intro. The verses seems to start on and revolve around the A. It's kinda weird how the songs work like that. Do you reckon it's a subconscious thing that Buck would have just heard in his head from years of playing or would he actually think, oh, this in Dmaj, now it's A mixolydian, so wouldn't it sound rad if it back to D major? I seen R.E.M. use a lot of modal stuff in their songs, like Every Day Is Yours to Win is in Dorian I think. I've always wondered it it was intentional.
