Appreciate this man. Always helpful
Man I can't thank you enough for making these videos you are a true American Honda driving hero
I bought a Honda Odyssey 2006 . I had error code E 0741, replaced the solenoid which was not working and the error came back . Replaced the trany oil filter rand the car is running very, very smooth. No error code and the tranny is changing nice and smooth. replacing the tranny oil filter is a must if you care about your money !!!Thanks for uploading.
I had no idea that the transmission had a filter, my odyssey I have taken with the dealer to change the oil on one occasion I mentioned that if I had a filter and I replied that it did not. excellent job
Truth! I worked at a Honda dealership for 2 years doing all sorts of maintenance (flushes, r and r's, spark plugs, brakes, steering, air filters, etc) and was never even told about a trans filter. As far as I knew, we only did fluid flushes.
As far as Honda is convern, this ATF filter is not routine maintence item.
It is a good idea to replace it every 70k-80k miles.
Excellent video. Short and sweet!!
Thank you for a short and sweet video!
GREAT video! To the point with helpful links in the description
Super bien, muy ilustrativo, gracias, gracias.
Great Job!
Thanks for skipping the excess talk that some people feel compelled to do on videos.
Good vid!!
MrRangerZr1, Know if it's ok to change the transmission fluid if it hasn't been done regularly... I've heard some say not to since the detergents in new fluid can create leaks and issues.
not true. as long as you dont flush it you're good to change it. do a drain and fill now then drive maybe few hundred miles and change it again. might have to do that 3-4 times but that's the safest way.
@@MrRangerZr1 Ok, thanks for taking the time to respond!
I like how you get the camera so close for a much better 🐦 👀 detailed video 👍 Any comments on how towing things might make shifting into reverse slower than normal.
Might be cooking the transmission while towing. Get an atf cooler installed.
Thank you
Gracias por el vídeo
Hey there I subscribed to your Chanel because I own a odyssey 2014 .and I’ve been seeing your videos on how to replace spark plugs and ATF filter, my van has 1,14000miles , when I when to do the oil change the tech advise me that the oil pan is leaking but in order to find it they need to degreased the pan and put dioxide something. To find the leak. What would you recommend in this case?
Dioxide? Clean the engine very well and watch where the leak is coming from, that is the best way. Inspect every part of the engine.
@@MrRangerZr1 what is dioxide???
Good video
Did you change your transmission fluid too? If so how many quart and what kind of fluid?
Yes video is on my channel. Takes 3-4 quarts.
Should be the same in the Saturn vue with the same honda drivetrain??
if the transmission is same then yes
Can the filter seal be reused? I intend on replacing it.
I wouldn't especially with age
Does the transmission fluid need to be drained inorder for me to change the filter?
No
Dang! Its a filter element! Looks easier to change!
Good job
Did you remove the air filter box as well?
No need
@@MrRangerZr1thanks for your response.. we have the same vehicles an odyssey and a tundra.
Me podría decir dónde se encuentra el filtro de honda Odyssey 2008
Internal, need to remove transmission to access.
Hey buddy. Quick Q please. I have 06 Odyssey. Need to replace transmission. See some saying 05 to 06 some 05 to 07. Will an 07 trans bolt up to and work on an 06 3.5 EX? From what I understand the 05/06 Touring has a different trans?
Yes 05-06 is different from 07-10. 07-10 got the better ridgeline transmission and also happens to be the best transmission ever put in any odyssey. Period.
@@MrRangerZr1 love the transmission on our 2007 odyssey.... but miss the old school matsuba honda starter sound on 05-06. 07 have a starter made by mitsubishi and sounds like trash. 2008-2010 have a denso starter and sound ok
CharlietoKind bro same thought process lol I thought I was a weirdo thinking that haha
Can't do this on my 05, the abs system is in the way blocking the filter cover
cosmo kramer well...I don’t know how I did it ;)
Another video the guy simply loosened the abs bolts
Just did the filter change on my 2005. It is a PITA, but can be done without loosening the ABS. If you do loosen the ABS, as I did after I got the old filter out, you can only move it up about an inch before the line going out the driver's wheel well binds.
Did they change the transmission in 2007 or 2008?
2007
Good friend, regards
Would this work on a 2007 Odyssey?
No yours is inside the transmissions, meaning non-serviceable. Just change the ATF regularly.
@@MrRangerZr1 so there was a transmission redesign between 05' & 10' despite being the same generation?
Johnathan DeWitt yes 07-10 got the ridgeline trans after Honda couldn’t design and still cant build a good transmission for these vans and their other crap cars

@@goldstandard7406 No, all 07-10s have the same transmission, all 05-06s have the same transmission. Not interchangeable.
Will this work on a 2010 odyssey?
Rich christopher not for 2007-2010
@@MrRangerZr1 ok thanks
how frequent?
Jack Wong would change it before 100k miles or earlier
a honda pilot is exactly the same
Same transmission
Quick question,Does the Honda Ridgeline have the same Transmission Filter and I. The same place? Thanks
When he says carefully pry off the cover, he definitely means carefully AF. It's aluminum and will break with too much ugga dugga... ask me how I know...
