My 'Studio' is in my living room... Its the only place in my apartment aside from my bedroom that has a window and the best light... I'm a new artist, discovered the passion of it back in 2018...I just started painting last year, and my living room is quickly filling up with canvases and art supplies... There are times like I feel out of my depth in a parking lot puddle... So finding your channel is simply amazing
Pale thistle. I love your work. I also enjoy the videos showing which art supplies you use and what and how you use it. It's really helpful. There I many art haul videos with swatch but not how to use it and when. I have learned so much from you. Please keep making your informative videos. They are great. Thanks a stack.
I was watching you on my telly, so I came to my tablet so I could type in 'pale thistle' lol, I'm feeling pretty accomplished and dedicated right now 😅 good video, I keep thinking I could give video making a try, but I haven't had the nerve yet! Well done!
Woohoo! Thanks for being so dedicated! I really do appreciate you letting me know you stuck it with me 🤩. Thanks for your feedback, and you should just do it… it’s a lot of ‘work’, but I really enjoy this platform to document my process and help people where I can. I’d been thinking about it for a while, and just went ahead and made a video without thinking and I’m so glad I did. You got this! 🕺🕺
Pale Thistle. Oh my mercy, I love listening to the Bridgerton Soundtrack while working. I love your prints, so pretty. Thank you for the video. I moved my studio into the living room area but the lighting is very low so I am going to see about those lights.
How good is the Bridgerton soundtrack?! 😍 Thank you so much for getting in touch (and for sticking with me to the end!). The Daylight lamp company also have other options, such as standing or smaller, if you don’t have a stationary table to pop it on 🕺🕺
Pale thistle. What a lovely colour name. Loved your video - have just subscribed. Oohhh, and I had to laugh when you were showing your studio desk and I saw the long wooden box with your paint tins in it. And I thought to myself “Hmmmm, maybe I can use the long wooden box I’ve just bought to store my watercolour tins as well.” And then as you moved around, I saw your long box is identical to mine! Both from a vintage Singer sewing cabinet drawer. Obviously we share good taste. 😉
It is a lovely name, and the colour is lovely too 🤩 Thanks so much for watching and subscribing - I’m so glad you enjoyed it 🕺 Yes! Great minds think alike! The drawers are the perfect size, and they look pretty too.
Oh thank you! I’m really glad you enjoy watching - thanks so much for sticking it with me to the end 🤩. Yes, I always like finding Aussie-based channels - it’s very helpful with understanding the cost of supplies etc ✨ Have you watched Laura Horn’s channel? She’s very good 😊
I enjoyed this video very much. You are a lovely lady. I visited Scotland and love thistles and watercolored one for my living room in lavender. ❤Pale Thistle
Pale Thistle is a brilliant name for an art business tbh 😀. Loved seeing your creative space. I have to laugh when watching every studio tour because we ALL have the Alex drawers and the trollies. I have two of the blue trollies and a couple of the large Alex drawers (really great for sheets of watercolour paper), which I'm about to add another one 🤭. You can never have enough storage 😆. I also have three tall vintage lockers which take the bulkier stuff like canvases and boards etc. I'm also in Australia (Newcastle NSW) and we're blessed with our light but the Lumi light has been on my wishlist for a while. It get's to that certain time of the day and I lose the sun to the front of the house 😕 I know Eckersleys have them but they're pricier than other online stores but then you've got postage. Methinks I'll have to "Amazon" it 👍🏻Anyhoo, thanks again for the "tour". All the best from Newy 😊
Thanks for watching! Woohoo, a fellow Aussie! And you’re right - that would be a very good name for an art business 🤩. I know, so many of us have the trolleys… that’s because they’re so, so handy! Regarding the Daylight Lamp, I got mine from Jackson’s (UK) for around $200. And they’ve just opened a warehouse in Aus, so perhaps their shipping won’t be too much? ✨
Yeah….I’m not a fan of that all white and aqua room look, luckily we don’t have IKEA in New Zealand… and MY personality type is to have all the colour pens, paints, pencils showing and all my supplies out but collated and everything has its place and goes back after use… so I like shelves and pinboards everywhere going up the walls … rainbow chaotic, looking like an art store 🤗 Pale Thistle
Thank you for sharing your space with us! Do you ever knock over your Singer trays? I was wondering if I should do something similar on my desk, but I'm worried it all goes flying at one point, lol. (pale thistle)
Hi! Thanks so much for watching till the end - I really appreciate it 🤍 As for knocking things over, the Singer drawers have been safe (thankfully) because the IKEA desk is such a good size that it’s perfect for the work I need to do. However, I have banged my head a few times on the lamp if I’ve forgotten to push it back up 🙄🥴😂
Pale thistle, I'm just starting my journey of making my art public. Maybe one day I will be making some money from it too 🤞🏻 any suggestions gratefully received. One thing that is in my creative space that I could not go without, is a speaker or hifi etc. Music fuels me and my art
Thanks for watching until the end 🤍 Regarding making money from your art, I would say the main thing is to just share what you’re doing. The right people will begin to see your work and follow along your journey. And once you get more interest, you could start offering little prints and see how they’re received 🤍🤍🤍
