A lot of West Indies people lost their lives trying to build the Panamá Canal. West Indies, French, English…gotta show love to everyone that help build that wonder!
Taboga is awesome! I used to go every other weekend. For anyone going to Panama There is also a catamaran called red cat, is all inclusive with lunch, and they take you to the back of the island for a swim and then they let you get out in the town and you can get your pina colada and explore and then head back to the city.
I absolutely loved this video showcasing Taboga Island as a fantastic day trip from Panama City! The scenic beauty, combined with the tranquil beaches and hiking opportunities, makes it a perfect escape. Can't wait to visit and explore this hidden gem!
I've been watching quite a few ex-patriots to Panama videos, and yours are probably the most interesting to follow along. Good editing, good banter between the two, and informative with wonderfully captured scenery. Good work, Steve.
Loved your video! I graduated high school there at Balboa High School and we made so many trips to Taboga Island. Brings back so many wonderful memories!
My husband and I live part-time on Isla Taboga and really enjoyed your video. Loved seeing some of our favorite places on the island. Your enthusiasm and positiveness was appreciated. Since your visit, Isla Taboga now has improved signage and information on the island thus hiking to Cerro de la Cruz and the Old Bunker of Cerro El Vigia is easy to find. Recommend returning from that Bunker into the pueblo via the Tres Cruces (Three Crosses) trail. Looking forward to viewing your other videos!
I was just there in February. I was lucky to see newly hatched turtles in Playa Restinga. I also enjoyed the Panamanian pineapples that don't hurt your tongue.
We were in Panama City and want to go somewhere that was easy to visit. I remembered your video and we easily got on the ferry and enjoyed Taboga Island. Now we miss Panama after getting home 2 weeks ago. So I watch your video again and appreciate the effort that went into making it. Great video!
Absolutely amazing and enjoyed watching your vlog, so cool and wonderful Panama, I'm just impressed how you made it ever more exciting for those watching and wanting to visit ❤😅
Love it! Taboga is such a nice day trip. If you really want to escape the city and enjoy amazing islands, hit up the Pearl Islands! A little longer on the ferry but totally worth it and you feel like you are truly on an island! And no crazy road trip like San Blas….
Welcome to Taboga!! Another great day!! Thank u for all of the local information!! Too much heat climbing that mountain!! Such a sacrifice!! Looks like a desert!! So glad you made it!!! Love u both!!
Great video of such a beautiful island! I could feel the heat coming off that pathway all the way up here in Canada! Glad you guys survived! See you next Sunday! Cheers! Lisa from Winnipeg
Thanks for the great video. This is giving me ideas on what to do whenever I get to visit. Thanks for the hike to the cross as I am not sure I would hang in there. The view is incredible.
Thank you so much for the time and excellence put into this video. As a fellow content creator, I know what it takes to not only film but to edit content. Not everyone can do this on the level that you both have done it. I feel like I am in Panama with the both of you. You have sold me and my friends on planning a birthday trip to this beautiful city! Thank you. You have earned a subscriber.
That’s cool to know the history of the island and that those who were sick working on the canal were quarantined there. Malaria and yellow fever are terrible glad there is medication for that now. And phew I’m hot for you guys but I’m glad you made it and did it before cooling off at the beach.
I guess a light beer before 10am would be OK... 😉 The empanada looked delecious. So many flowers! Very colorful for sure! What a place to spend the day! 😁👍
Hey guys as always great video. I have a confession Heidli? while you and Adam were sludging up that hill in that hot sun all French Foreign Legion style, I was sitting back shamelessly enjoying an antarctic ice-cold beer thinking of how Adam would have enjoyed a bevy? but I was there for you in spirit buddy, lol. Seriously guys plezzzze be careful of the heat down there it can really mess you up. Be safe okay, your friends Patricia and Thomas from Toronto, Canada
The island looks amazing. The beaches, the hills and colors of the town are phenomenal. I like how chill the place is. It doesn't seem overly touristy. That was my only issue with places like Isla Mujeres. Way too many people. Is it always that hot in Panama? Year round? Well done making it the top. What a trek and what a view. I want to do a jump off the Pirate ship. Now that's a pina colada!!! Oh that fish looks Delicious. It's like Sand Bar Island off Bar Harbor.
Haha it is not always this hot. This year “El niño” natural phenomenon has delayed the rains, but the humidity is there which makes it feel hotter than normal.
Happy Monday! April and it's that hot. Wow. Was it equally humid too? Adam -- I saw a t-shirt: "Bad puns are how eye roll" I thought of you immediately
Awesome Video and Congrats for showing the Beauty of one of our easiest to reach Islands. Was actually in Taboga myself yesterday and could totally relate to that hot steamy climb to Cerro La Cruz :) Quick Historical Facts that your viewers might appreciate and the answer to your question about the fate of the French workers who were were sick on the island in the French Canal days late XIX century (some of them are actually buried on the Panama side close to the Pedro Miguel Locks in a place called the French Cemetery). Other fun facts was the Francisco Pizarro expedition that conquered Peru in the early 1500s departed from Taboga and there is a street in the island aptly named.. Francisco Pizarro. Also there was a Steamship service from Taboga to Chile managed by the Pacific Steamship Company in the Pre Canal Days. Some of the Scottish workers who managed the steamers are actually buried in an overgrown cemetery in Moro Island. Great Video and Lovely Shots. Keep it up.
Whoa! What a hike up that hill?? How did you convince Adam to do this in the heat? Good job! Hope you guys are not sun burned too badly. The swim to cool off must be heavenly.. 😁
You guys are a great team! The island looks so nice as does the water where you swam. Thanks for hiking to the cross for that fantastic view! Can you put ice in the bladder that Adam carries or wouldn't it matter? Thank you so much for the tour!
It’s our pleasure! Yes we put ice in it and it stays cold for awhile but in this heat I think you could literally fry an egg on Adam’s head lol so it heats up quick!

What the cost by taxi to get from Panama city to the ferry dock?
@alanareason6101 I took an Uber from Playa Bonita, which is about 15-20 minutes outside of the city. I cost around $10.00 with Uber.
WOW! Beautiful Isla Taboga!
This must be a fun and enjoyable visit.
Amazing sceneries and delicious food.
