Ferrari 499P LMH Le Mans Hypercar Testing at Imola Circuit - 3.0-litre Twin-Turbo V6 Engine Sound 🔊

- At the end of 2023, the Ferrari 499P LMH Hupercar N°51 by AF Corse returned to the Imola circuit for two days of testing. This is the correct choice for the team, given that in 2024, the track will be part of the WEC season, and in April, the cars will return to Europe to compete in the 6h of Imola. We remember that after 50 years of absence from the top series in endurance racing, the Italian brand is back, and with the #51 car driven by the drivers Calado-Pier Guidi-Giovinazzi it won the 24 hours of Le Mans 2023 ahead of Toyota and completing 342 laps. The vehicle built with a carbon fibre monocoque uses the Ferrari Tipo F163 engine; it is a 3.0-litre 120° twin-turbo V6 + 272 HP electric motor for a total of 500 KW, equivalent to 680 HP limited as per the regulations. It adopts a 7-speed Xtrac sequential mechanical gearbox. I have to thank my friends and RUclipsrs @19Bozzy92 & @NM2255, with whom I collaborated to create this video. Enjoy! 😉
Alla fine del 2023 la Ferrari 499P LMH N°51 gestita in gara da AF Corse è tornata sul circuito di Imola per due giornate di test. Sicuramente una scelta giusta da parte del team visto che nel 2024 il tracciato è all'interno delle gare WEC per la stagione 2024 e proprio nel mese di aprile le vetture torneranno in Europa a disputare la 6h di Imola. Ricordiamo che dopo 50 anni di assenza dalla massina serie nelle gare endurance il marchio italiano è tornato e con la vettura #51 guidata dai piloti Calado-Pier Guidi-Giovinazzi si è aggiudicato la 24 ore di Le Mans 2023 precedendo la Toyota e completando 342 giri. La vettura costruita con monoscocca in fibra di carbonio utilizza il motore Ferrari Tipo F163, si tratta di un V6 a 120° biturbo da 3.0-Litri + motore elettrico da 272 Hp per un totale di 500 KW equivalenti a 680 Hp limitati come da regolamento. Adotta un cambio meccanico sequenziale Xtrac a 7 rapporti. Buona visione! 😉

Prova Mo (Imola), turning some beautiful laps before the inaugural Imola 6hrs. The last years of the glory days of the World Sport Prototype Championship , the 1984 1000 km of Imola was won by the porsche 956B driven by Stuck and the indomitable Stefan Bellof. Let's hope to see some glory brought to the the Ferrari Pit during the modern equivalent of that race. Forza Ferrari. TY @italiansupercarvideo for more great footage. I just watched Sebastian Vettel turn some laps in the Porsche 963, could we see his return to the tarmac soon behind the wheel of the german manufacturer?
It would be fabulous to see Vettel in this championship. I don't think the tests with Porsche were pure fun; in my opinion, they verified whether a collaboration between him and the Penske team is feasible. As a racing fan, it would be wonderful 👍

I missed seeing the 499P in action on the Imola circuit during testing, but finally, I could film it with this video. I'm not sure whether Ferrari will return to test on this circuit again before the 6H WEC races, but many curbs have been changed, and some work has been carried out on the circuit; in my opinion, it wouldn't be a bad idea if Ferrari decided to return to the track again before the race.

Yes, exactly, I filmed the 499p many times during the Fiorano tests, but in Imola, for the first time, I felt it with truly powerful anti-lag like never before.

@@YuriBruschi Capisco, non sono modellini economici. Ne compro pochi anche io, qualcuno mirato, niente di più. Dai un'occhiata anche a quella di BBurago scala 1/18, per quel che mi riguarda è una scala grande che non colleziono però devo dire che nello specifico, questo modellino, è fatto molto bene. Certamente non economicissimo ma neanche ad una cifra esagerata per essere 1/18, tanto per fare dei confronti economici, i competitors, di altissima qualità, ci mancherebbe, costano almeno 6-7 volte di più...
@@Italiansupercarvideo La 1/18 è grande, in questa scala ho la F 40 della Burago e la 333 SP della Hot Wheels, più qualche Ducati MotoGP e SBK. Spero che Hot Wheels o Minichamps la produca. BBR ho la 550 montata casa, ma fu un salasso anche sé merita.
@@YuriBruschi Eh, ti capisco, anche io in scala 1/18 ho poche auto, principalmente per questione di spazio. Anche a livello di costi, quelle fatte bene (Autoart, Kyosho, BBR) costano cifre impegnative. Non costano poco anche le 1/43, intendo quelle curate, però a livello di spazio sono maggiormente collocabili.
It's actually got some insane turbo lag for a Hypercar, some of those pops we're quite nasty af
I have to tell you that I really like it with a popping sound from the exhaust 😅
Why does antilag create pops and bangs
It shoots gas into the turbine side of the turbocharger (basically the exhaust side). That gas burns and explodes there and it keeps the turbine spinning even when there's no engine power. These pops and bangs are just the gas exploding there. @@lovelehstuff

They should allow combined power up to at least 750kW for the lemans hypercar class, they handle like gokarts, they/re a bit too much limited I think, that competition became really exciting, I hope they won/t kill it by restricting it too much, let/s be honest, GT competition is not popular at all, there/s lots of cars just because they/re cheap

In general, these kind of Endurance Hypercars are very stiff on curbs. I had confirmation of this by filming some of them in Imola such as Lamborghini/Cadillac/Porsche & Isotta Fraschini.
