Great discussion guys. As a Sindel loyalist, I'm surprised she hasn't been touched. But I feel they'll also make changes to her F1 string as well if they nerf her. BUT I will say she is incredibly boring to play imo compared to MK9/11. I actually want her to get a new move like her iconic hair whip that she had in MK9 or Mane Squeeze as it was called in Mk11. Or maybe port the Air Banshee Dash from MK11 which could fit well with her keep-away/levitation pressure playstyle in this game. In simple terms, she needs at least one more screaming and hair move and I'll accept that along with the nerfs.
I’d say Johnny was already nerfed, but just not neutered like Peacemaker. They somehow gave him the significant frame changes in parry/shadow kick he deserved while keeping him strong. They removed the brain-deadness, so you couldn’t always do what you want whenever you want. That’s what i think they should do with Homelander.
@ same. I think what made him so crazy before was you could decide to throw out ex shadow kick or the 1 frame parry and be right 19 times out of 20. Tanya’s wakeup armor used to be like that too. And what’s funny about her is, you could still do the powerful stuff, you just have to put her halo on first - but that’s a little too much for 99% of her players 😅
Well,as a Quan player,his new buffs are very useful against johnny Quan can zone him way better now,with bone cage activating in block and johnny cant teleport or throw projectile when hes in it,the only option is to jump or wait till its gone Pushaway portal is also very good to keep him out bc johnny has no projectiles or teleports to acsess Quan And the cherry on top is the armor portal,my gameplan against johhny is to play keepaway as much as i can and when he finally chase me in the corner i go ex armor portal and direct it near myself in the corner and then he cant dare get near me The match up is still pretty annoying bc johnny has many frame traps against Quan but its def way easier to handel compared to kenshi,homelander,scorpion,liu kang havik The only thing thats really unfair is just johnny can punish Quans d1 with his 9 f mid,this i cant accept
Great podcast, I'd love for you guys to go through the same analysis for kameos. I think the kameo system has been designed in a very "half-assed" way, it is what allows the game to be complex, but options are so limited, from who you pick or even what kameo moves you use, there is so little variety. I think we need more, new moves, better frame data, etc.. I often think of how it could be if they decided to go crazy on it, what if we had more kameos than actual characters. To me it would make the game so much more appealing if people cared about their team, maybe people would be super proud of their Kitana-Mileena team, or a Shao-Skarlet team, even if not meta but just for the love of the characters. I think they should even be able to re-use moves from other kameos, let's say for a Skarlet kameo for example, give her the same kit as Sareena with projectiles, one that allows for combos, but instead of meter drain give her a TP. I really think the game would have been so much more appealing if people had that diversity. I was really hoping for more kameos but of course, none coming with KP2... would love to hear your thoughts on it if you haven't already on a different pod.
My gameplay change would be to just give every hit of armour 2 hits it would sort out so much of what we all dislike , or increase kameo cooldowns to darius speed
Nice podcast. Check out Domoralize and his Geras videos. Stop hating on Reiko's stars. It's his only legacy move. They should have fully commited and made him MK1's Commando Kano but, hey, it is what it is. General Shao still needs his shoulder tackle when he has no axe.
As a Kenshi main, gotta say I disagree with a rework. If Kenshi was to be changed in any way, I would say a slight nerf would be fair. Puppet characters BY DESIGN in any fighting game they are in have overwhelming offense and horrible defense that’s the point of the archetype(Zato in guilty and Carl in blazblue are a few examples). I don’t think that aspect of the character should be changed. Usually tho in other fighting games, puppet characters are VERY WEAK before the puppet comes out, but in this game you could very well win a round just in balanced stance without sento ever coming out. So I would be okay with his balanced stance being nerfed in some way.
the only nerf havik needs now is a swap in properties of ex scoop and normal scoop (DB2). like, the metered one should be armored and launch (if uninterupted like his slow armor) while the normal one should just knock down. i honestly think that would fix how braindead the character is rn. even as a day 1 havik i ask myself.. why am i hitting this poor dude for 460 no bar.. then getting a guaranteed 360 at least after ex necksnap. then sindel.. scream should not be a restand
Buff Omniman’s mobility. It’s always been counterintuitive in the meta of MK1. He’s supposed to be a premier counter zoner yet he tends to lose a lot to zoning characters like Quan Chi for example ,due to his slow start up on his Stance/moves. This can be complemented by utilizing meter to give him quicker mobility to his moves or at least make them safe as he is high risk of being punished without kameo due to his most of his moves being ridiculously punishable on block.
Nerfing kitana makes no sense lmao. Doesn't need a nerf at all. She needs a new move or smth. Sindel doesn't need nerfs, tremor should just not add extra HP.
Sindel’s Stand 1,2,2 can be toned down a bit dude. Can be very abusive. And Kitana down 1 needs a bit more recovery as people mash the living hell out of that button.
Kitana is OD, she has unbreakable combos, unblockable setups, great zoning, great normals, an armored launcher, high damage, real jailing mix with Ferra(her best Kameo imo) she really doesn’t have any weaknesses

Not mentioning Hair Whip was a huge missed opportunity. All the Banshee stuff from MK11 would also be super cool.
