Griffith's significantly more complex tbh. HIs motives are more difficult to discern (why he did the eclipse and raped casca being a topic with crazy layers and interpretations to it), along with some great stuff regarding his more complex ideology, alternate personalities, relationship with guilt, etc. Guts has more depth as a character, but Griffith's more complex
It's less that we know less about his motives, but his motives in general are more complex and then you get into his different personalities, relationship with his humanity, etc. and you get a pretty significantly more complex character in Griffith than you do in Guts@@Gattsu_the_struggler
Guts objectively is better written Tho there's nothing objective in writing He has more development More philosophical advancement Griffith is stagnated He is great because of how intricately miura tied him with guts and how significant he is His main strength is depth and complexities Guts main strength is relatable and character journeys
I mean Guts introduction was....you know... being balls deep and butt naked into a random woman, which felt a little edgy Meanwhile Griffith's introduction was more dramatic and immediately hooked the readers and made them wonder who this guy is? And what's the deal between him and Guts
His intro is the entire chapter and it isn't just him fucking someone but it also delves into his isolation, ideology, and more. You get a huge number of reveals and setup in his introduction and stuff that gets recontextualized a ton@@harivenkatm-e1861
