Thanks again needed the info on installing properly.. got a new ROG strix GeForce RTX 3050 OC edition, it never gets over 50c playing games on high settings big improvement over my old graphics card
Awesome my friend, so very happy you enjoyed it. I am working on a review comparing it to other board, but I just go back from surgery and at my day job right now, so I may not have that video Monday, but I am trying.
Just got home with my new rtx 3050 to replace my old gtx 1050ti, and realised while watching this video that i will need a pcie cable which my psu doesnt have. So im currently waiting for my new psu, at least i didnt start uninstalling the drivers. Thanks for the informative video though.
Always a pleasure my friend, I am so happy I could help you, and yeah, you will that x8 PCIE cable, but thankfully you won't need a monster. If you don't care about modular, you can get this one from my Amazon affiliate link: geni.us/yBLJ but if you prefer modular, I do, it makes it easier to cable manage, you will pay a little more but you can check this one out, again from my Amazon affiliate link: geni.us/hhBcwrO I always recommend more than you need, but remember, your power supply will only use what it needs, because to save you next time you upgrade from this issue of having to buy a new power supply.

ok, just making sure. While the 3050 can run at 4K, its not going to play games very well at all, you will get lucky at 2K, it can do some at 2K but it is a 1080P card, though still better than a 1050.

Great video. Love to see the lower hand tech just as much as high end. Even though I love seeing rog strix 3090s and soon a 3090 ti it is nice to see the more budget friendly and bang for the buck cards. As always keep up the amazing work man
one mans trash is another's gold haha. Lower end tech is great, especially right now where everything is just so hard to find. This card, I was not able to find on my own, I had to have EVGA send me one to review, but the other card I mentioned in the video (coming up soon) I was able to buy on my own, oddly enough hours after release. Thanks so much for your kind words my friend, it means a ton to me.
Hey bro great video I just sold my rtx 2060 for 450 on eBay, went to micro center the same day and got this guy for 379.99$. Spent the extra 70$ on a new 1tb SSD. Couldn’t be happier.

Great video. One thing I’d like to add though: I always put my pc case on its side if I’m taking out or putting in a graphics card. That way there’s no stress on the pci slot. I’m probably being overly careful.
Yes of course, but it's easier to domonatrate this way and oddly enough while I was a product development engineer at Alienware and velocity micro, I preferred building this way, I am not very tall, 5"6 and the benches to build were taller
Thanks, upgrading from a low-end card, the card didn't work but i'd forgotten to put in the PCIe power plug 😬. I should have expected it as the card of my CAD PC also has an extra power input. When I saw you put in the plug there was the aha moment.

Great video as always. Do the EVGA PCIE cables not have 6+2 pin ? Much nicer having just the 8 pin PCIE connector, especially considering how power hungry the newer generation cards are it's probably not needed to have 6+2 pin.

so you see how this is confusing, you come to a video stating mine does not have a plug, the video is about a 3050, being that you provided no other information, how was I supposed to know what you were talking about? And when you buy a new retail 1030, it comes in a box too so that would have been the box you would have read, right?
even if i have an idea on how to install certain components, i still look at guides on how to put the specific model properly. I'm still afraid of handling pc parts especially if they are relatively new and now just having this card, this video certainly helps a lot. this card and 1660ti has the same price in my region but i chose this because of the benchmarks i saw and it seems that 3050 has better cooling like 10-20c than 1660 which is a huge factor for me.
Well thank you so much for your kind words and support my friend, it means the world to me and I am so very happy I could help you. I have always been comfortable jumping right in... on that, I have broken a lot of things too, but that is a learning experience as well haha. I think you made a good choice, they do trade blows the 1660 ti is faster than some of the 3050 and vice versa but the 3050 has newer tech and more potential and yeah, better cooling, so I think you did well my friend. What games are you playing?

A few minutes ago I updated my Intel UHD graphics in my laptop using this very same Safe boot+DDU method. It successfully updated the drivers. Last time when I did it, I accidentally forgot to run DDU so I was facing texture missing issues and lags in GTA V and online. Now the game is running as expected just because now while updating, I used the DDU method. Damn! That driver clash had created such a huge terrifying experience. But using DDU in safe boot solved the issue today
@@ThisBytesForYou no, it's never a waste of time. instead, not using DDU gave me serious nightmares and when i did it myself practically, i found the answers of the doubts i had like "can we use DDU if we don't have graphics card" and "will i get a black screen permanently if i used it on igpu of Intel and AMD". The answer is no. Nothing happens that can harm you but not using DDU can harm 100% sure

Sorry my friend, it requires a 550Watt PSU and also an 8Pin PCIE connection. so the fans will only turn on when they are needed, try playing a game, within a few seconds the fan should turn on. As for sound, click on your taskbar, on the bottom right hand corner, where you see the clock, click on the speaker, then click to raise the volume, then select your NVIDIA audio, you just need to select it. Also, your cable needs to support it, hdmi 2.1 or DP 1.4.
I'm trying to do my first build, you said that in order to use that card I will need at least 550 watts, I've bought a Corsair VS600...it's that enough or should I get other than that? (First thing I've bought and by no means I'm not computer savvy) before I go any further I would love your expert opinion! Thanks.
Thats perfectly fine, that is a 600Watt. The PC will only use what it needs so it is fine my friend. As for being enough, it is enough, but you will need to upgrade each time you upgrade your video card, I always buy MUCH more than I need, I have had the 1000Watt for about 10 years, never needed to upgrade for all the video cards I have use, all my PC's have at least a 1000Watt, or a 1200Watt, I had 1 die on me because of a bad storm, but I had that one plugged directly into the wall for testing, my luck, the only time I had it plugged into the wall, there was a storm haha, but it happens, I hope this helps.

Hello I'm upgrading from a GTX 970 to an RTX 3050, but it doesn't seem to be displaying anything whatsoever. I can't even follow along with this video because I have to use integrated graphics to get any sort of display instead of the 3050 itself. Is there any advice you could give on how to solve this problem? Thanks.
Well, hopefully you have a power supply that supports the 3050, with it's 8Pin PCIE connection and you have the card fully inserted into your PCIE slot, and of course have your monitor connected to the card? If not, what is the manufacturer and model number of your motherboard and video card?
Good video, after changing the video card to an rtx 3050, my second monitor does not work, it does not receive a signal, is it possible that it is due to not installing the drivers as shown in the video?
Thanks my friend, so very happy you enjoyed it What is the manufacturer and model number of your video card and what kind of cable are you using, HDMI or DP?
@@ThisBytesForYou the manufacturer is PNY. How I can know the model number? The second monitor is connected by an HDMI to Displayport cable and the first by an HDMI cable. It's not a cable problem, I already tried changing cables and the problem continues
OK, that is Fine, PNY is good enough as for the cable, even if you change the cable, it could still be an issue. AMD is more strict on this than NVIDIA, but on AMD if the cable is an older standard, it will not work, it may be the case on PNY's iteration of an NVIDIA card. DO you have a DP cable you could test?
@@ThisBytesForYou the cable that i have is displayport 1.2, can this be the problem? because when the computer starts, it works but when windows starts, it stops receiving signal and only the monitor connected by HDMI is displayed.
ahhhhh well, it could be, as DP goes as high as 1.4 but check your refresh rate, make sure its something the card will work with, like 60hz or something also, the port will not work until you have installed video drivers.

Hey, great video, I’m new to pc. I bought a pre built and still don’t know much about it. But I’m upgrading to the RTX 3050 as the 1 I have on now isn’t so great for more demanding games. I don’t have the card yet but when I get it and try installing it, will I need the 8 prong piece. The card I have doesn’t have that.
Okay I did more research and listened more carefully to your video and it said not all have that. So when I get the RTX 3050, will it come with a prong set. In case I’m saying it wrong, the part at around 9:20.
you are talking about the 8Pin PCIE connection which is 100% required. Not all cards have it because they don't require the power. Would you happen to know the manufacturer and model number of the one you bought and you say you have a prebuilt, do you know the manufacturer of yours and model number if it has one?
@@ThisBytesForYou only thing I know from is I bought it on Amazon. It was a Buy Power 1. I cannot tell you anything else. But I did get a 8 prong cord. So when I get it and the RTX I’ll be able to use it. Where would I plug the other end into though is where I’m now having problems.
@@chadwickballer70 You will have to buy a new power supply, unless your power supply already has it, to find out you will need to open your computer and look inside, I can't do it for you... i dont have your computer, but it doesn't seem like you want to try
I have a question. I have an Optiplex 390 DT and have been using a Radeon RX 560 and want to upgrade to an RTX 3050. Is this possible and if so, will an EVGA 550 GA Supernova 80 Plus Gold PSU provide sufficient power?
@@ThisBytesForYou 1 more question. The PCIE x16 slot on the 390 motherboard only gives a max of 25 watts and the PSU only provides 6+2 pin GPU connectors. If the 6+2 connectors only provide a max of 75 watts and the PCIE slot 25 watts, it appears that I will fall short of the 130 watts needed to power the GPU. Is there a solution? As you may know (or not) the PSU I have is fully modular, if that information is helpful.
I have a Z390 Dark, I used a 3090 on it, you will be fine. The slot, a PCIE 3.0 slot provides 75Watts and a 6+2 will provide 150Watts, so you will be good.
it gives me a grey screen after restarting it and then i put my password in and i try to run nvidia control panel it says it’s running but it doesn’t show on the screen
Always a pleasure my friend, so very happy you stopped by, trusted in me to help you, liked and subbed as well as took a moment out of your day to thank me. It means a ton to me and I am so very happy I could help you.
I would recommend buying the gpu and upgrading your power supply. The card with the system requires at least a 550Watt, if you buy a 550Watt, next time you upgrade your video card, you will have to upgrade your power supply again and again and again. I have had a 1200watt and a 1000Watt for over 10 years, never needed to upgrade them again.
yes, power requirements are not going down, they are going up quickly and with the newer cards, you might need newer adapters, wait till a little after September so you can see what cards will require.

its the same thing, instead, you would use Windows 10 drivers. And you don't want DCH, you want Game Ready Drivers, you can find the link here: www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/187098/en-us and what I show you in the video. Umm hello I need help for my gpu when I put my gpu on my pc and download a driver why does my screen wide and I can't fix it pls help
Pleased go back and read your comment, I have no idea what you are saying, you put your gpu on your PC, you install it, then you download a driver (did you install it?) and that's a strange question, why does your screen wide, I don't know, did you buy a wide screen, or did it turn into a wide screen when you put the gpu on the PC? Great video as always. Do the EVGA PCIE cables not have 6+2 pin ? Much nicer having just the 8 pin PCIE connector, especially considering how power hungry the newer generation cards are it's probably not needed to have 6+2 pin.

And when you buy a new retail 1030, it comes in a box too so that would have been the box you would have read, right?

I'm still afraid of handling pc parts especially if they are relatively new and now just having this card, this video certainly helps a lot. this card and 1660ti has the same price in my region but i chose this because of the benchmarks i saw and it seems that 3050 has better cooling like 10-20c than 1660 which is a huge factor for me.

I tried going into the bios but there is no onboard sound or device configuration tab. I’ve reinstalled the drivers multi times and the Nvidia download. Any help would be amazing. Thanks
so the fans will only turn on when they are needed, try playing a game, within a few seconds the fan should turn on. As for sound, click on your taskbar, on the bottom right hand corner, where you see the clock, click on the speaker, then click to raise the volume, then select your NVIDIA audio, you just need to select it. Also, your cable needs to support it, hdmi 2.1 or DP 1.4.

What is the manufacturer and model number of your power supply
Im getting the white solid light on my b450 motherboard. Ive tried the ram cables on imput hdmi/displayport still no signal to monitor helpppp please ? Btw old build new gpu bios was updated a day before didnt install nvidia drivers beforehand
soooo, sadly you are not really giving me an information. Where is that light, and the B450 is a chipset...
So that I can help, please list the manufacturer and exact model number of the following components:
1. Motherboard
2. CPU
3. RAM
4. Video Card

8. Are you running through HDMI, DP, DVI, VGA, any adapters?
9. UEFI in the BIOS from Legacy. If it was set to Legacy, you will need to reinstall windows to get correct support.
10. Disable CSM in the BIOS
11. Installed latest supported chipset driver?

Mi friend great video as always this has nothing to do with it but, I have a cyber power pc with a Nvidia RTX2060 I’m planning on buying the Vetroo V5 cooling fan, do you think it will fit my pc? Let me know what specs you need! Thank you so much!
no idea my friend, Cyberpower uses many different cases, your best bet is to check with Cyberpower
I almost missed the plastic on the fans. Thanks.

Thank you very much 😊

@@chadwickballer70 if you wanted to, you could buy this power supply from my Global

Wanted to know how to connect the cables. You completely skipped that part. No good for me.
did you actually watch the video,... I just did again and yeah, its in there.
I have a question. I have an Optiplex 390 DT and have been using a Radeon RX 560 and want to upgrade to an RTX 3050. Is this possible and if so, will an EVGA 550 GA Supernova 80 Plus Gold PSU provide sufficient power?
yes, this video card requires a 550WAtt PSU and 1 8Pin connector, so you should be good.
@@ThisBytesForYou
Ok. Thank you for taking the time to respond. 🙏
@@ThisBytesForYou
1 more question.
@@ThisBytesForYou
Ok. Thank you.
it gives me a grey screen after restarting it and then i put my password in and i try to run nvidia control panel it says it’s running but it doesn’t show on the screen
how many HDMI/DP connections do you have connected to your graphics card, only have 1
yea i have a dp and hdmi
disconnect one and try, one of your monitors is not registering correctly or showing 3 monitors
when i turned it back on it put me on a recovery it says it looks like windows didn’t load correctly what should i do
restart your computer, sounds like you have corrupt install of windows, is this a fresh install or old?
Thank you for helping me

I have a 450 Watt PSU, should I buy this GPU??
I would recommend buying the gpu and upgrading your power supply. The card with the system requires at least a 550Watt, if you buy a 550Watt, next time you upgrade your video card, you will have to upgrade your power supply again and again and again. I have had a 1200watt and a 1000Watt for over 10 years, never needed to upgrade them again.
@@ThisBytesForYou But I recently bought this PSU, may be it was a big mistake 😅
yes, power requirements are not going down, they are going up quickly and with the newer cards, you might need newer adapters, wait till a little after September so you can see what cards will require.
@@ThisBytesForYou Yeah, technology is going forward too fast. What would you recommend for me if I want to stay at my current PSU? 😅
maybe this ruclips.net/video/7A2xMnsfEZw/видео.html

I just bought rtx 3050 n i got issue 'This DCH driver package is not compatible with the currently installed version of Windows. This system is configured to require a Standard driver package", any help for fix this?
did you follow this video?
@@ThisBytesForYou yes, but im using windows 10
its the same thing, instead, you would use Windows 10 drivers. And you don't want DCH, you want Game Ready Drivers, you can find the link here: www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/187098/en-us and what I show you in the video. The other cause for this is Windows, you need to have windows fully updated.
