Last year i started to become a clockmaker and the more i see Steve working on movements like these the more i see the years of experience and dedication. Once again he did a wonderful job.
An absolutely incredible programme, such admiration for everyone, so many gifted and talented folk who genuinely treasure items being brought for repair. Totally fascinated with restoration of paintings, leather work, porcelain...the list goes on x thank you everyone for sharing such qualities with everyone xx
Beautiful French clock. I have rebuilt a bunch of those myself. We used a special clock cleaning solution, in an ultrasound machine, that had metal brighteners in it and the metal would come out clean and shiny and bright. And we used bronze bushings instead of brass cuz they lasted longer. I very much enjoyed restoring people's family heirlooms when I saw the joy it brought to them when they came to pick them up.
Watched every episode of repair shop applied several times but no luck. I know Steve would have repaired it he hi great at clocks and most enything megaical wizard
Surprised they're not wearing gloves during assembly because that gorgeous polished brass is going to ...... uh.... Otherwise such nice work! Beautiful!
Steve, wow!! I have a Ridgeway grandfather and the condition, though bad, is not that bad. Would you recommend anyone Stateside that could help? I'm in Georgia.
Wonderful, as always on the TV. But what did you wash the parts with? I have tried to repair clocks too. Did you use fine wire wool? and the detergent was? And how did you get that wonderful polished finish? Just hand polishing or with a buffing wheel? And polished with a polishing liquid or powder? So many questions I would like to ask but cannot apart from these!
Most cleaning solutions for brass movements are ammonia based. There are some types of brass that ammonia can crack though so care must be taken to make sure this doesn’t happen. There is “clock cleaning fluid” for ultrasonic cleaners that you can buy online too.
Hi, i just love the repair shop and all the ideas, transforming, well so far i havent seen this one, i wonder as im partially sighted and need help with our Kiezel mantel clock which is all orig, but hasnt worked for many years, we would like to get it cleaned and repaired where needed .... where would you recommend.
Hi, I have a musical clock that is several yrs old. It's been working great all this time but some bugs found their way inside, are dead and showing from its glass face... Any suggestions on how to safely open it so that I can clean it inside? I opened it from the back but couldn't reach all the way there. I was afraid that I will mess up all those little wire connections...
I was wondering about stopping a clock at night one that doesn't have the silencer on it. Would it be okay to just stop the pendulum and then restarted later on
Give Steve his own show. Such an amazingly talented guy.
He has his own page?
Agreed, but they are all amazing.
A wonderful show, never miss it

Dear fellow Horologist:
Isn't Horology a wonderful thing? 😃
Just wait till you work on a Morbier or Hershede.
Or even an Atmos clock.
Have fun. 😆
I’m starting an apprenticeship in two days!
Delighted to find this channel for my favourite show!
My husband and I just adore Steve and Suzie, and the ENTIRE crew of Repair Shop. ...so sad Pennsylvania and England are so far apart.

Супер, спасибо! Слов нет, мастеру выразить свое восхищение.
Breath taking programme , talented , skilled , imaginative , the plethora of superlatives are insufficient. Crack on 👍🇬🇧

Watch-work is amazing!
You mentioned once you had experience on Elliot movements. Any idea where I can get a replacement main spring barrel for one?

I love those screwdrivers too top quality was Yankee who made them in various sizes
The informative part was inserting bushings to tighten the pivot holes. Where do you get those? He did not say what he used to clean the parts!
vraag . welke reiniging vloeistof voor uurwerken word daar voor gebruikt ?
Very intresting programmes loverly people

Did you know John B?
This video is well intentioned, but a bit too fast and lacking detail.

Everyone is brilliant , except for Blades.
Jay is a master upholsterer and a respected craftsman in his own right. Shame he's just been given presenting duties on the show,
And he's very good with a kettle.
