    Does it put a lot of moisture in your garage? Like does it steam up the windows or does moisture condense on the walls?

    • @tugnut1
      @tugnut1 6 лет назад

      I have not had an issue with moisture on the walls, but I have had condensation on the windows. The windows are really cheap, so their can be a big temp difference between inside and out. The walls are insulated, so no real issue there.

    This heater looks and functions just like the one I have from Ryobi. Propane is always better than kerosene I say with fewer moving parts etc and is way better cleaner burning as well. But for this unit to be nearly identical to the one I have by Ryobi why is the Rigid brand priced much higher than the Ryobi brand?

    John, How are you ventilating your garage when using the heater?

      Peter DeFazio. I crack the garage door every once in awhile.

    Had 2 quit working in 10 days!! Not sure why but took them back for a refund. Ended up with a corded model that is pretty loud. Would have been nice to be able to use these. Quiet and a good little unit while it lasted!!

    Can this be used without the propane hookup?

    I'm surprised it doesn't have some type of baffle over the end like on a typical torpedo heater.

    does it have low oxygen shut down like the Mr buddy heaters do?

    • @tugnut1
      @tugnut1 7 лет назад +1

      It does not have low oxygen shut down. Great question. I should have added that to the video.

    I came here because when I was trying to set mine up I couldn't connect the hose to the propane tank. I ended up figuring it out by trial and error. What nobody tells you is that the threads are inverted. In other words, when connecting the hose to the heater, it's "lefty loosey, righty tighty", but when you connect the regulator to the propane tank it's the opposite.

    I loved up to my 3 propane bottle. Then the eye will not see the flame and now shuts down as soon as the primer button is released.

      These Carry a 3 year warranty. Contact Ridgid and have it replaced. Home Depot told me if it fails within 3 months that they will do a direct replacement.

      The Jones Bunch 5 or 10 minutes. Not very long at all.

    It’s nice but the Dewalt cordless propane heater is much better

    • @tugnut1
      @tugnut1 7 лет назад

      I haven't had a chance to see the DeWalt heater yet, so I can't comment on that one.

    • @phreshfella4662
      @phreshfella4662 7 лет назад +3

      How so? The Dewalt doesn't have the cord option if your battery is dead?
      Also, I bought the standard Dyna- Glo unit for $30 less than both Dewalt and Rigid. Nearly everyone using a heater has access to an extention cord so why pay the premium? Idk get it. Not worth it to me!

    • @robertknowles3677
      @robertknowles3677 6 лет назад

      Hey Joe can you be more helpful with the comment? I mean it is very easy to say that one is better than the other but to not state how you feel it is better just makes for a comment that is not helpful to anyone. I say this because I just started looking for a propane heater like this one and first stumbled on the Dewalt one. There are several models of Dewalt heaters that are tubed like this rigid. Some are 68,000 btu and another one is 125,000 btu. So which Dewalt do you feel is better and why?

    Theres lots of regs regarding gas burners of any kind, and this is a bad idea. Whats the power input for that heater? For example a 5 kw flueless water heater must not be run for more than 5 minutes at a time. Gas hobs and cookers only in rooms with an openable window and adequate air vents (100 cm^2 minimum). If you put this in a garage, close the doors and run it hours on end, you will die.

    • @ecojoe2214
      @ecojoe2214 6 лет назад

      Who's died from that scenario? I sure havent ever died (as far as I can remember) while using heaters in enclosed spaces for 8 hours plus...

      A car is much more dangerous if you use it the wrong way. Just like as knife or a gun. Tools/ inanimate objects are only dangerous if the operator is.
