    Nowhere else in the OT does ṣēla‘ have the sense of “rib,” and no ancient rabbinic interpretation of ṣēla‘ in Genesis 2.21 supports the “rib” meaning, but “one of his *sides*” fits. The third-century BCE Greek translation of the Genesis 2 renders ṣēla‘ as pleura (actually it's the genitive plural πλευρῶν), which can mean “side” or “rib.” St. Jerome’s Vulgate used the Latin costa, which likewise can refer to “rib” or “side.” When the Vulgate was translated into other European languages, words that clearly and exclusively meant “ribs” were used, e.g., e.g., Ger., seiner Rippen eine and Fr. une de ses côtes.

    Much in the same way my ribs hold in my vital organs, so too does my wife hold me together with her continued embrace. She has been worried that she has not done enough for or loved me enough lately. Far from the truth. I literally told her tonight before bed that I just simply want her at my side. What we need more of is uplifted women in this world and less empowered women. Women are already powerful as image bearers of the living God as both progenitors and sustainers of life, but today's society does little to uplift women anymore. What mockery is it that the phrase "what is a women" is both a joke and a serious question on the tongues of people.

    But Adam & Eve were not the first humans. Remember, Caine went to live in the land of Nod where he married & had children. Eve signifies the church. As does the Garden of Eden to who's care Adam was entrusted, *NOT* Eve. Religious people are constantly confusing the meaning of this

    • @observeroflife0000

      Well, that's not exactly true. There are two stories about the creation of mankind. One where the decision was made to make them both:
      Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let THEM have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
      So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; MALE and FEMALE He created THEM. Then God blessed THEM, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
      And then in chapter two it gives the history/the detailed story of how God created man
      This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens...
      And in Genesis 3 after the fall when speaking to Eve He said:
      “I will greatly multiply your sorrow AND your conception;
      In pain you shall bring forth children;
      Your desire for your husband,
      And he shall rule.”
      Not, I will greatly multiply your sorrow IN conception and in pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire (shall be) for your husband, And he shall rule (over you).
      It was one complete sentence stating a much different thought than we have been taught.
      What do we see in society today?
      Birth is extremely painful just as God said it would be...
      The world is run by men. Men have ruled most everything under the guise that God was punishing Eve and taking away her dominion and giving it all to "the man" because of two little words added in (over you), and the logic behind it is she sinned first, therefore she sinned worse than Adam. 🤷‍♀️ Which has caused great sorrow for women over the course of history because women have been blamed for "the fall of all of mankind"... As if Eve was the ONLY one who sinned. 😳
      Eve sinned once. She ate of a tree she was not supposed to.
      Adam sinned four times if you want the truth.
      First he failed to protect his wife from eating from that tree... He did stand there and watch her without telling her, right? Second, he disobeyed God's command that was given directly TO him by doing that, right? Third, he then ate of the tree as well, right?
      And finally... He blamed Eve for eating first and was unwilling to take responsibility for his own part in the incident.
      And the last thing we are seeing is in regards to "desire". Women want to BE men, and men want to be women. Both sexes desiring the others traits... Desiring to be the opposite of what they were created to be.
      Because of the misconception of and condemnation from both sexes towards each other. 🤷‍♀️

      @@observeroflife0000 That was interesting except for one thing you missed. The Biblical story of Adam & Eve is a type of metaphorical *NOT* exactly literal. It's written in the Bible itself not to take everything literally. Jesus himself often spoke metaphorically. Bcz after all the Bible is a book of faith *NOT* science. Therefore neither is yours "exactly true"

    • @observeroflife0000
      @observeroflife0000 Год назад

      @me2 345 Metaphoric... 🤔 That is an interesting thought considering that we are literally watching certain things that were talked about "metaphorically" in the Bible play out in real life, right before our eyes. 👍
      The metaphoric aspect of the Bible has nothing to do with "faith"... Christianity is faith based because they are selling a bunch of wishy washy doctrines that REQUIRE faith for them to be believed. 🤷‍♀️
      Those things that are written are symbolic of something that was happening in the Spiritual world we do not see or understand, therefore the metaphors are weak and easily misunderstood.

      @@observeroflife0000 I studied the writings of the Blessed Anne C. Emmerich, Edgar Cayce & Swedenborg (among others). They each make very significant contributions to the understanding of Biblical text. I don't presume you know any of them or if you do maybe don't give them much credit. Therefore I try to stick to the Biblical text as primary ref. source. In that regard you also missed that the "male & female created he them" refers to the animals not to Adam & Eve. Adam was actually a hermaphrodite. What sort of real man gives birth (from his side no less)? Therefore if we are to believe the story, the first humans were a sort of hermaphrodite but due to sin they separated into male & female as is written the female would henceforth experience physical labor pains. As we are now male & female according to the flesh the desire to be genderless cannot be achieved in our physical form but only in the heavenly realm (Matthew 22:30)

      Eve was created sinless by the grace of God. Because of Eve’s disobedience to God she lost sanctifying grace for herself and her offspring by listening to an evil angel. She was only called by the name Eve AFTER she FIRST sinned, prior to that she is referred to as "woman". Eve becomes the mother of all the living at the Tree of Knowledge/Death. Like Eve, Mary was created sinless by the grace of God BUT unlike Eve, Mary remained obedient to God and listened to a good angel. Mary is referred to as "woman" by Jesus BEFORE HIs first miracle and BEFORE His death on the cross when He gives her to John's care, Jesus uses the term "woman" because she becomes the spiritual Mother of all of Christ disciples at the Tree of Life, the Cross, the Mother of all humans who follow Christ and who are born anew by His sacrifice from then till today.

He was saying that Hebrew word for making Eve is connected to the ark of the covenant, and adams rib is connected to water and blood from the side of Christ making the Church, and also Mary connects to Church and Ark. so basically it all connects to the life giving nature of woman
