The fact that he has even stated that Barrett-Jackson is indicative of general market value, says a lot about how skewed his perception is. Auctions are generally not very indicative of market value as they often shoot over, but Barrett-Jackson is in a league of its own in this regard. If there is an auction house which does in no way represent market value, it is B-J. They are famous, or rather infamous for being the place where drunk new-money hicks come to get into a d**k measuring contest. It is by far the tackiest and sleaziest of all the big auctions. I wouldn’t be caught dead in that place. And that’s the place Tyler Hoover thinks is a good reputable auction house indicative of real market value.

But can you follow my train of thought, when I say it is a bit silly that he complains about what others say about the value of his cars, considering he is so far off so often? I say this because in this context with this video, I don't see it as there being a link to his as he puts it "the dumbest decisions" and him actually being either offended by what others value his cars at, or him being completely incapable of setting a realistic price on his cars. What I guess grinds my gears a bit, is that I get the feeling that he tries to hype up a market in hopes that he can turn a better profit or lesser loss. Yeah it hurt to find out he was deleting the hybrid out of the P1 even though I knew deep down it was inevitable given what happened to that car. He would have been better off presenting it as a more direct successor to the F1 instead of calling it a P1 evo. The only significant difference between a P1 and a 720 is the hybrid. Without it, you can't call it a P1 anymore. That said, I'm glad he saved it. Between this and being crushed, I'd rather he do what he did.

I wonder how many people first fell in love with Hoovie's channel when he was all about hoopties that the Average Joe could buy -- same struggles with doing things on the cheap... and now he's become just another RUclipsr with a bajillion dollar supercar collection and a stunning model girlfriend / wife. Good for them. It's wonderful to see people build something like this, and I'm not going to begrudge anyone who finds success (although we all know his family had $$ so he wasn't buying junkers because he was dirt poor like people assumed), but the magic of the channel that hooked me in the beginning is so long gone that I just can't get into the content any more, and that makes me sad. Hoovie and Tavarish used to be so relatable, but they just aren't any more. It's still entertainment, but it's not the same type of entertainment. I don't know if the anime additions were ever made well or if they were cheap stuff just slapped on there but I genuinely love the car. I know it's just not going to happen but I still hope that he not only does not get rid of the anime stuff but takes it to the next level, to a properly expensive looking itasha. That he clearly isn't really into it only adds to the fun.
