You do, but it usually isn't too bad. You can fire pretty safely if the units have different heights though (be it through terrain or type).
@@BroughtToBear I saw you using the chasseurs with inf behind it...if i do that my own infantry gets shot to bits.
You have to put them in formation. Skirmish formation (they’ll go to one knee) goes front, line (standing) goes behind and then cavalry behind them. It isn’t perfect, but the losses will be minimal.
