      Thank you I promise there’s no one on the team that makes more open runs than Pulisic and he rarely gets the final ball! It’s hilarious how he’s our best player but they hate on him every chance they get! Lao does nothing loses the ball every time he touches it but he’s their god lmao! Also, that ball that Puli might have passed to Tijji in the box was a ball he had just won himself just outside of the box. Kush doesn't mention that.
      I do agree on the other ball. Puli should have passed into the box for Tijji to run onto.

    Pulisic is taking every chance he can get. Doesn’t matter if it’s “sloppy” from him, at least he’s doing something. You can tell he’s tired making the run and not getting the ball over and over again.
    In my eyes, he did do something. That assist still counts adding another to the tally.

Good organization and communication from the back line. Atalanta will be a good measure of our defensive quality. Tidy finishes from Morata and Reijnders. Wingers were quiet today but definitely opened up space for central attack. Love that the entire team is contributing and not just Rafa and CP. lots to build on today. Forza Milan!

  • @eddiegonzalez638
    @eddiegonzalez638 3 дня назад +11

    No one on the team makes more open runs than Pulisic and either his teammates are too slow to react to give him the final ball or are too selfish.
    Pulisic decides to play “selfish” and everyone is at his throat. However, someone like Leao does it ( who primarily is looking for himself first most of the time) and he gets a pass because he’s Leao. It’s hilarious.
    Side note, I said it before and I’ll say it again . From now on Pulisic shouldn’t even play at the 10. Not because he can’t but he becomes a bit too constricted. And those who play as wingers don’t compliment Pulisic when he plays up the middle primarily. Especially for the fact of what I mentioned earlier of players being too selfish to give him the final ball when he makes those open runs. He plays more free as a winger and impacts the game more as he is allowed to play in and out as often as he likes as a winger than at the 10 and is able to draw in defenders more to make those crucial passes in the final third to his teammates.

    • @mattvirtues-se7jr
      @mattvirtues-se7jr 2 дня назад

      I agree with most of what you said , the problem is who plays the 10 if not him ? If TJ does it then who replaces his holding midfield spot? Unless they scrap the whole idea, and go with a 4-3-3 or what I would prefer 5-2-3 with Musah playing right wing back .

  • @kylerodd2342
    @kylerodd2342 2 дня назад +1

    I play football manager and when I did a Milan save Reijnders absolutely flourished. I am loving watching him do it in real life. FM did a good job at representing how he plays. But it doesn't beat seeing him actually do it. What's great is that now it's not just him we get to say these sorts of things about. Pulisic just had an amazing run of form before the dip. Leao obviously has his ups and downs but when he's on the up and up he's fantastic. Theo is another world beater when he's in form. Maignan is one of the best goalkeepers in the world! We've got some serious quality. I hope they all get firing on all cylinders soon. It would be amazing. I really like Fofana and Morata, and Tammy has potential. Gabbia has been refreshing and hopefully Thiaw can find his form. Chukwueze could also show his potential too. There's a lot of potential in this team.
    To weigh on on the convo of the center back situation; I like the idea of the quadrant, but I'm just an amateur player and football manager enthusiast. I think it makes sense to select players for their particular capabilities. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. And it can be useful throughout a long season for the whole quadrant to be familiar with playing with each other. There's fatigue and injuries and it can be useful to be adaptive in those situations. I mean, we'll see at the end of the season. That's what they've decided to do so I we can do is hope.
    Thanks for another great analysis and video.

    • @kylerodd2342
      @kylerodd2342 2 дня назад

      I also want to add that Fonseca managed well in the selections. There were multiple players at risk for missing the next match with a single yellow card. He ended up subbing them out so they would definitely be available for Atalanta. I mean, I don't know what he was thinking but that's my guess.

    Yo Kush, I really admire your analysis. You are by far, the best Milan analyst out there. I've been following your work for quite a while now and you always provide objective, non-biased analysis of each game. One thing about Milan fans, especially the ones on Instagram, is how toxic they are. Especially that one page called "Home of Milan". It seems like everyone is always dissatisfied with everything. They give crap to the management, Fonseca and all the other players.
    Just before this game, people were furious about Musah playing as a RW. One guy mentioned that's because Musah as a RW worked against Madrid and everyone gave him sh*t for saying that. Even up until winning 3-0 against Empoli, they still won't admit that Musah at RW works. It seems like only you, me and a few people looked at the whole game and realized that he didn't just play as RW but as you said, RWB, essentially helping that position defend better. Same goes to the whole formation being fluid and not remain the same between attacking and defending, and it seems so many people don't realize that.
    But really, keep up the good work man. Your channel is the one I always go to after every game. Cheers!

    That back line looked so confident, the passing was so crisp and sharp today. I was beyond ecstatic!. It's always wonderful when you have one of the bravest and skilled keepers in the world to hold it down. I've been high on Fofana all season, I don't even understand all the nuances of a defensive or box midfielder; but you can see the vision, strength and skill on ball. Fofana to me is super smooth. 🧈 Reinders was lights out! Morata, I loved the hustle.(And Goal 😁) Leao was creative and just too much for Empoli, overall a great team performance. 👍 Thank you for the videos.

  • @maudalmusicalmachines3541
    @maudalmusicalmachines3541 3 дня назад +4

    I'm not irritated 😁 Well, except perhaps that I'd like to see this team stop wasting Pulisic's goals. But you're right that it was a strange performance from him.
    Ever since the match when 2 of his teammates stole penalties from him, Pulisic has concentrated on setting up his teammates instead of shooting more. I knew that would mess with his head in some way and I think we're seeing that manifest now.
    The best quality he has had is his decision making in front of goal. That's taking a bit of a hit at the moment. There are at least 3 occasions in the last few matches when I thought he should have been more selfish and gone directly at goal but instead made a pass. More often than not those completed passes didn't turn into assists. I thought dude! Take the shot!!
    So now he took a couple selfish shots that didn't go in. Goal scorers do that all the time without catching any stick for it. For me, he gets a pass.
    I'm really glad TJ is scoring now! If we want to compete for trophies we need *all* our players firing, not just Puli. But remember, TJ spent an entire season plus the 1st several games this season shooting and missing when he should have passed before he gained some form. And even now Puli still has more goals and assists and contributions this season.
    And yet you have never gushed about him the way you're gushing about TJ now 😉
    Current transfer market values:
    Pulisic - €50m
    Reijnders - €30m

      the corner kicks - he's been putting the ball to nearly the same exact spot for several matches now... the near post or *just* past that. This game he was *obviously* lifting it to the far post intentionally. Almost certainly under the direction of their set play coach. But weirdly, there weren't many Milan players positioned there. I don't know what they were trying but it wasn't super effective.

    I feel like Fofana is like a "Sleeper Hit" type of signing. He reminds to guys like Busquets or Scholes by the fact that, you don´t really notice the impact that they have in the squad unless if they aren´t playing in the field, heck, the reason of why Reijnders can now go on full attack mode is thanks to Fofana's defensive capabilities, alongside his ball distribution with his passes.

    Re: CBs, I personally think Gabbia should be a lock, and perhaps change out his partner depending on the opponent. Gabbia is an anchor, while Fik offers speed, Pav has aggression, and Thiaw (in his current form) offers a similar profile to Gabbia in solid positioning and prudent tackles. I will say Gabbia is quickly becoming one of my favorite players and he should be captain within a couple years. Solid back, good decision-making, and owns team mistakes in front of the media. Anyone else notice how they sent him out to face the media after some of the tougher results this season? And he handles it well.
    I would like to see a midfield of Musah on the right in the midfield paired with Tijj and Fofana. We've seen Musah offer more defensive coverage playing on the wing but we lose a lot of attacking presence by playing him there. The decision-making in the final third just isn't there yet, though he is a strong defensive presence and he's good at carrying the ball forward. I'd also argue that Pulisic is stronger on the right wing than in the 10 role. Playing them in those spots plays to their strengths.
    I hope we've moved on from RLC as a starter at this point.
    Also don't think you mentioned Theo at all in this video. Very quiet game from the captain. And then Mike just didn't have much to do yesterday, but I think it's a good thing when your keeper has a quiet day at the office.

He was off today, and maybe has been for the last three matches. He's been lucky, not showing his 100%. Expectations need to be met, because he is a world-class. And when you are world-class then you need to be held to a higher standard. Instead of scoring, he should have hat tricks on good days and a goal a game. That's world-class.

      Which he has never done anywhere in his career. I'm a big fan of him and pretty well any American in Europe, but he isn't world-class, he is pushing to be an elite player and that's great he should be able to push for 30+ goal contributions in all comps this year no issue

      Who tf in the top leagues is scoring a goal a game with 2-3 sometimes?! No one lol y’all live in a bubble! Lao has 5 goal contributions Pulisic has like 12 lol but they’ll say Lao is world class haha they hate Americans even though we saved their asses from hitler lol haters

    Milan have been much more solid when they have musah on the field. To be more specific, him helping out on the right. Which is where a majority of the goals were coming from to start the season.

    I feel like Fonseca took a page out of Pochettinos playbook. This is exactly how USA played against Jamaica with Musah at RW, playing like a RB. playing fullbacks like defense midfielders.

    About the defense, I think it should be a stable pairing thats how you win tournaments. Defending is a dance you need a partner, the better you know your partner the more consistent and solid you can be.
    Also in a cb couple there are two roles, the "line leader" and the follower. The only guy who gives me good vibes in the line leader role is Gabbia.
    So if he wants to rotate it's ok but you shouldn't touch Gabbia.
    In fact you can see when we have pairings like Tomori Pavlovic who are not capable of mantaining the line that we get exposed.

    like your passion for the club, Dislike the rose coloured glasses for Leao. Impressive how you keep finding positive things to call him a ''star'' player. The man does more things wrong than right. I truly believe milan is better off without him.

    Pavlovic is an absolute beast. However he is very stiff, personally I think because of his height, and his ball possession play isn't convincing. That's the only negative side to him.

    Gabbia has earned his keep, he has to be the starter in every games. We've seen the defensive performance while he was injured.
    Honestly none of the three candidates deserves to be an absolute starter, pavlovic has potential sure, fikayo can be a beast on his best day, malik has quality if only he were consistent I think he and Gabbia def would be the best pair. So I absolutely understand why Fonseca don't choose a certain pair.
    I still think we need either a solid CDM or CB

    A flexible rotation based on the opponents helps exploit their weaknesses and our strengths...so rotation of centerbacks or any other players should be the norm. Having a constant 11 or the strongest 11 all the time might risk a burnout.

    Absolutely agree with pulisic shooting and not passing. He was pulling a leao. Selfish. He could of had an assist easily on that first pass to the middle of the box. Gotta wonder if he is feeling the pressure to score since he isnt scoring or assisting every game like he was to start the season. He had to do better. And that speed is the part that makes me so angry with pulisic. He used to use that speed and burn defenders when he was at chelsea before his injury. He did what leao does. Burn and go. He doesn't anymore.

    I don’t agree that Pulisic deserves a shout out here. The subpar decision making and poor set pieces were the story of his game today and he wasn’t a standout performer. Neither was Leao or Theo, so it’s great that we can still win comfortably without these guys having great games.

    Empoli looked awful, any other team scores at least twice in that game. Nothings changed empoli is weak. Totally dependent on pellegri and his luck finally ran dry. Our shape looks the same, with no midified at all. Empoli bypassed our midfield 6 or 7 times. Happy to see our attacking players look better and grow in confidence but these problems with the mid and defense are still there which is why we can't have consistency which is what wins trophies. Fofana needs help, what he's doing on his own is incredible to be fair. Forza Milan.
    Ps did giroud not work hard for the team? Morata going so far back in defense all the time is a bad sign. Once in a whe is fine when it's needed but the fact that we're saying this about morata every week tells you what you need to know about this team.

    I came to Milan through Pulisic. But gotta say to People giving Leao a 4 - 5 performance, ...I read it much, much higher. He has the confidence to try difficult maneuvers and plays and risking heavy criticism when they don't come off. But I see a player who is confident enough to risk failure on the field in full view of everybody. if you can't do that versus Empoli then how are you doing versus Napoli?! Gotta practice somewhere. And even MORE IMPORTANTLY was the 3-0 drubbing Leao was on the field for while trying all those low probability maneuvers. Should he play safe ball? I hate it more when he back passes on a possible counter & not making the risky through ball pass. Look at all the crazy shit Musah does practically every other play. Dummy clearance, . Didn't work. Dummy shot, didn't work. nutmeg, worked. 2/3 of his moves may not be coming off, but he sure is interesting to watch and his only 21 with lots of potential
    I've seen Pulisic improve too when he has had the freedom to repeatedly fail.
    TLDR: Leao 7/10
