    I love this game with all my heart. I still play it on DosBox. Fun fact: Caves has the largest texture in the game: The wall in secret 3.

      I always played it on PS1 until recently playing it on PC. The steam version is surprisingly easy to get going. That's a cool fun fact!

    I've always found the Caves level a little bit drab, but you've made me appreciate it in a whole new way. It really is a great opening level for a new series. I like how it teaches players all the ropes without handholding. And of course the opening cutscene is genuinely iconic!

      Great minds indeed 😄. Its been a while for me, but was fun to get into it again. Tomb Raider 2 is awesome too. Have you played it?

      @@precurrentgaming5300 not since 1997, but I'm just on the opera house for round 2 👍

      @@AFriendRemembers it's been awhile for me too. The Opera House is so atmospheric it puts me a bit on edge especially when the traps are triggered.

    I'm playing Tomb Raider on my Playstation 3 right now because I'm rebuilding Lost Valley with Blender and Unreal Engine 4. Still a great game after all these years! I think I will replay the other 4 PS1 games aswell :D

    Non punishing way? (Being eaten alive by a huge bear.)

    • @precurrentgaming5300
      @precurrentgaming5300  3 года назад +1

      At that point the level turns it up a notch, but the Bear is a relatively easy low level enemy meant to get the player on their toes rather than kill them like the many secenarios that come up later in the game. Plus they give you a med pack right after to ease the pain. So, it is not too punishing or at least as punishing as it could be.

      @@precurrentgaming5300 It's okay, we were kids when the game came out. And the control system (Walk forward, step back, turn right or left, no strafe) was a horrible game in itself. So yeah, we were kids and... death in the game was 5 seconds away. XD

      @@alexl7213 Never found the game horrible, just played it again and had forgotten how much I enjoy it. Though, that bear was a fright and challenge the first time.
