Only half way through watching and realized that you are a trend changer. You have beautiful style and can change the game on how we see styling a home. I love everything.
Finally, a realistic home tour where not everything is magazine perfect. It gives me hope for myself lol. Thanks do much for sharing! Great job on the thrifted decor too.
I love that you commented on that! I really wanted it to be realistic. And thank you! I love thrifting - it was so fun to decor with almost all thrift :)
Love this apartment ... your aesthetic and style really suit your adorable personality. South Granville is one of my favourite neighbourhoods to visit ... Indigo, Pottery Barn and Meinhardt are our stops when we are in the city. We are happy to be returning to Vancouver after living in Pemberton for the last 4 years ... this summer, can't hardly wait!
You really have quite a knack for decorating and could be a interior designer as well. And you also have a really great knack for finding good finds at good prices. Good for you! Loved the old charm of this place, the bathroom tiled floor and that built in chest of drawers and medicine cabinet, unique! Also , love the French doors which we also had in one of our homes, built in 1928. Too bad you had to move from here as far as the interior goes! Thanks for sharing~ looking forward to seeing other homes you live in and decorate as well. Best of luck~
I love your home style- modern and sleek but not cold. Really gorgeous space! I found your channel a few days ago and I’ve been binging on all of your videos, definitely my new fave content creator! 💗
Just Nakita Vlogs haha thank you!! Yes I’m a huge thrifter! Especially knowing we would be there long, I wanted it to feel decorated but not break the bank doing it ☺️☺️
I used to live in this building in South Granville! I recognize the blue exterior. I learned that the little door at the side of the front entrance was used to drop off your shoes so someone could polish them.
I loved your house with the old fashioned mixed with modern, your teeny kitchen and spices on top of the coffee machine? The white goods, I don't care, as long as they're beautiful and fully functional. That you provide a little space for other half to also put things he likes around is so romantic and you are a nurse, my whole family are nurses❤❤❤❤
Very cozy lovely place 🤦🏻♀️❤️❤️❤️❤️ the double doors , all those pics , and all the accessories they are amazing and amazing 😩❤️❤️❤️ your home is one of the best I ever seen ☹️💓 you have a gorgeous test 💓💓
At one time many of the buildings in the West End had trash shoots. That might be what the little door was used for. The small niche in the hallway was probably for the phone; they were mounted on the wall. Lovely apartment, and great thrifty finds.
I know! I loved it! But my husband got into a really great school to do his mba in France, so we sold everything and moved to France! Just landed about a week ago!
@@AndreaClare Ah yes, the peripatetic lifestyle and youth. Not yet a lot of linens. And very sensible not to buy some simply to fill up the cupboard ;0)
I liked the gallery wall over the trunk that you hated... I thought it was a good example of asymmetrical design ... putting a guest room together and I have a similar trunk so I'm probably going to use some of your design... So it's not that bad!
Welcome! I was wondering about that! I've had all sorts of answers but I think milk delivery makes the most sense :) thanks for leaving a comment and watching :)
Gorgeous space and I'm so impressed that you thrifted most of everything!! That's talent!! :) I would find it so hard to leave there with such great space and natural light. I saw that you have radiator heating, what do you think of it? We are presently shopping around for homes and we are looking at character homes and some of them have radiators and it makes me a bit nervous. How do you find them? Thank you. :)
thank you!!! thrifting is the best! Especially when you are moving to different countries so often like us. I really loved the radiator heating, plus it looks really cool too! It did make me nervous having fabrics around it and I don't know if it would make me super paranoid if we had kids around - but overall - loved it :) I hope that helps! :)
Aw thank you! We actually moved out of this apartment shortly after filming this! We relocated to France a few weeks ago! But I'm glad you loved the place as much as we did :)
I am a nurse in vancouver! And I think I live in the same neighborhood. We are renovating our place, and i got rid of all of our junky university stuff, and am looking for some MCM dining chairs, where is the filming cast off store?
WOOHOO for Vancouver nurses! So funny you found my little video! The film store is awesome, we used to go all the time. It's just off Grandview Hwy and Skeena. Directly across from the Walmart. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's huge inside :) Happy shopping!
Good thrifting job. I also live in Vancouver. Do you have any favourite thrift stores? I've gotten a lot of good furniture from Salvation Army on 12th near Kingsway.
The little door looks like a "under the stairs door" (like a harry potter room) Maybe where kens closet is there was the bottom of stairs at one point in time
I live in Victoria, and I know apartments this size go for insane amounts of money here, so I can't even imagine how much this costed in rent in Van! It's stunning though. I live in the Hudson District in Vic and my rent as a UVic student is crazy, but I wanted to live downtown, and have no roommates, so I'd say it's worth it.
MacarenaofTime I know! Rent is crazy! Ours wasn’t as bad as you might think it was. The price for the size of the place was amazing! But they did hike the price up hundreds of dollars when we left 😬 So many people asked me about it when we were leaving ☺️☺️☺️
We don't live there anymore (we moved to France a few months ago) so I don't mind at all - we paid about $1700 a month but the rent went up significantly when we left :)
wow for all that space, minus the kitchen it was basically a house. Lucky you guys locked in that price! haha, hope you're enjoying France! I visited there in May last year and loved it!
Yes! we did do that with one of our fridges but if we did it with this one we wouldnt be able to open it! There is a wall and our oven on the other side :) Heritage building life!
vintage buildings are a lot quieter that new builds. nice thrifting.......don't need the gory details of "things" & why u have them...space is nice & has a lot of light. Yep mess on the floor .Designer Tip: place shelves on ur wall for "designer handbags & special shoes..get them off the floor & treat them like art work. Put the small chest right under the window. Tip: 2 corner units under the sink will & can be used for storage space. PLEASE Feng Shui your toilet lid down!!! Yikes!!! Living Room w/ all the French Doors make the apartment..Put the mirror IN the fireplace to reflect the candles. Place the dining carpet on an angle. Fix the 'dead chair' & use it in the desk area. Kitchen is perfect ....larger that what you get in NYC. Space is awesome
They used to put so much more detail in older homes and apartments. I love all the built-ins and the details on the floors. Beautiful place!
I know! The new places are junk compared to the heritage homes!
I love how big the units are in older buildings! That framed letter was so neat. Awesome place!
Only half way through watching and realized that you are a trend changer. You have beautiful style and can change the game on how we see styling a home. I love everything.
AH! You just put the biggest smile on my face! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! :):):):)

KayKay Too Sweet we moved out not long after filming this, we are living in France now! But we lived this place! ☺️

the french doors were probably my favourite part of that place - it was very sad to leave it! :(
I love your home style- modern and sleek but not cold. Really gorgeous space! I found your channel a few days ago and I’ve been binging on all of your videos, definitely my new fave content creator! 💗
Thank you so much! Thank you for watching! Makes me day to hear that :):)

I loving the home tours too x
Thrifted no way 🤭😱 yes girl you have impeccable taste

Really?! I've got so many different answers on that. everything from coal to milk to storage!
@@AndreaClare Aha, the mysteries of a heritage building. That's what Dave the building manager told me at least!
I LOVE your style! Love the way that everything is put together, the french doors are amazing!
Thank you! The french doors were one of my favourite things about that place :)
So pretty and stylish! I am kind of obsessed with Vancouver. One of my favorite cities ever!
Thank you! I'm obsessed with it too - but I am a little bias :)

Omgggg 😍😍😍 love!! We have so similar taste!!! I also
love vintage shops.
Yes! They are the best!

thank you! Yes I loved that place too :)
I would HATE to leave that apartment!!! It's huge and the floor plan is incredible.
I did hate it haha But we left it to move to France so it was worth it in the end haha!
Very interesting home. I love your vintage style. Beautiful.
Thank you so much!
I LOVE your home! So beautiful😍
Thank you! We loved that place :) Sad to have left it!
I know it's a house tour but could not stop looking at your hair!! 😄
hahaha Thank you!!!
I dont think anyone could have decorated such a historically vintage apt better than you. WOW
Ae thank you!! Yes I loved it too - miss it :)
I loved it.
Why would you give up this place. It's so good

Ken’s closet is the linen cupboard. Where did you keep linens ?
We didn't really have many linens, a few towels and a extra set of sheets :)

Very cute! Eclentic! 💖
Thank you! Yes it was mostly thrift so very eclectic! :)
That letter is AMAZING I would keep the letter too
a little piece of history at home :)
Such a cozy space.
Thank you! We loved it :)

Aw thank you! I think I'm just over critical of most things I do :) Looking back now, you're right! It's not bad at all :)
Really like your dining table chairs!
Thank you! I love them too. One of the few things we kept from that apartment :)
Great tour! Your house is beautiful!
Thank you!!! I really loved it too :)
I’m late, and new to your channel but the tiny door was for glass bottle milk deliveries a very very very long time ago 🥛
Welcome! I was wondering about that! I've had all sorts of answers but I think milk delivery makes the most sense :) thanks for leaving a comment and watching :)
Such a gorgeous apartment you have! Love it
I really love your taste and everything is beautiful!
Thank you! I really miss this place!
Yes I like youe house tour
This made me miss Vancouver
naledi it makes me miss it too! We have since moved to France and Vancouver feels so far away
What a beautiful place! We just moved in together so I’m getting a lot of inspo from other people’s videos xo
Congrats! I hope there is some inspiration in the video! :)
Very beautiful and cozy aprtment, you have impeccable taste......

I live in an old apartment too. That little door probably originally went out to the hallway and was where people could do milk delivery?
Someone did tell me that might be what it was. Or coal delivery. Who knows!
Likely that little door is a plumbing access panel.
Love ur editing and house so cozy looking
Yeh Jane thank you!! And yes it was a very cozy place ☺️
Beautiful! Don't change anything I love everything..😍😘
Aw thank you! We actually moved out of this apartment shortly after filming this! We relocated to France a few weeks ago! But I'm glad you loved the place as much as we did :)

Another Vancouver nurse here.
Good thrifting job. I also live in Vancouver. Do you have any favourite thrift stores? I've gotten a lot of good furniture from Salvation Army on 12th near Kingsway.
I frequent value village on Victoria drive and Talize in North Delta :)
Could we have more info on the hanging plants in the kitchen please?
They are from Ikea :)
The tiny little door is probably for plumbing maintenance or storage
Riley M ah yes, could be. Definitely not for haunted children 😂
I"m sure you've moved by now but you could always take the drawer out of the fridge and just treat the bottom like another shelf.
We have moved but I did think of doing that but because of the position of the stove, the fridge door didnt open wide enough to get it out :(
The little door looks like a "under the stairs door" (like a harry potter room) Maybe where kens closet is there was the bottom of stairs at one point in time
Could be!
Great job
Tiara Everyday thank you! ☺️
This door goes behind the tub to access the plumbing
I love your home.
Thank you so much! :)
Nice! Check out some of our newly renovated apartments in Vancouver!
Wow wow wow lovely home!
Adele Ward thank you! We recently left it to move to France but that place sure was beautiful! ☺️
Ask coraline what the little door is for

Like your French place much more
yah it's hard to beat a charming french flat!
That little niche in your foyer is we’re Miss M.C. Lindell would have had her telephone in 1949.
you do know you can reverse the way the fridge opens, not optimal but at least you would be able to use the entire fridge
Yes! we did do that with one of our fridges but if we did it with this one we wouldnt be able to open it! There is a wall and our oven on the other side :) Heritage building life!
Love love love you did a great job 💜even though you’re leaving I love the fact you made it your own anyway #newsubbie
Just Nakita Vlogs thank you!! I always have to put my own touch on a space. Otherwise it doesn’t feel like home! ☺️

I agree!! I loved it so much. But it was stay here or move to France - we chose France :) But I still dream about this place all the time :)
why do i have the feeling this place is haunted?
