This side content is so worth anyone’s time. If you haven’t try to watch all Anna’s interviews. Can’t wait to find out what your plans are in Amsterdam… (try visiting the music venues like Bimhuis, Melkweg, Paradiso they are great. )
Anna must have met him on a bad day then because he comes off as "Up himself" here or does he just really dislike Finnish people? Either way if I were Anna I would have got up & stopped interviewing him after the 3rd insult but it actually shows how better a person Anna is. (It truly bothered me that he "Insulted" not only the Finnish language but Anna's personal experience with colour & sound) Yannis is as rude af!
This is next level, 2 very gifted artists sitting and having a conversation about their passions. Anna your a wonderful interviewer and Yannis is an awesome person to interview. Just ask a question and let him go. This has been a gift to watch, thank you both for your time and insights.
Oh thank you Yannis and Anna. This was such a delight to listen to. Guided, yet unscripted. Great conversation, great content. You asked if there should be a follow-up. My question is when is the follow up? ❤
Oh well, Finnish fans I envy you... to have BiB and Yannis tour so frequently in your home country... I mean, here in Yannis's HOME country, in March 23', after 3 whole BiB albums and 2 quarantines, NOW is the time for the first ever BiB appearance here! Nevertheless, great interview, interesting topics, Yannis has a lot to say!
lol I started following this channel because of her language, I can´t understand it (subtitles save me) but I like a lot how it sounds, it is quite a cool experience listening an unknown language to me and reading the great reflections about music
Great rants by Yannis. Fell into the middle of this with his subtle assessment of the Finnish language ("it sucks and Finns are crazy" 😂). He's got élan in spades. Amazed you actually got some questions in, Anna! Very enjoyable chat. Really looking forward to seeing Floor with her brothers in metal and to see Yannis with BiB and of course our "Uncle Henk" for a full metal Phantom. The Ziggo Dome roof will definitely come off! Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘
oooh what a great timing theheheh 😂😂 Yannis was super adhd that day because he had like three cups of coffee with us before filming this . 😂 See you in Amsterdam?
► Good interview! ► For example, I did not even know that Yannis does not quote Rob Halford for himself, although I myself have heard more than once in a musical get-together how Yannis is jokingly called Halford's illegitimate son :)). ► Also, now I'm no longer wondering why Yannis doesn't get out of breath when he dances "Ukrainian hopak" recklessly in the middle of the chorus of "One Night in Tokyo". ► And some other stuff... So thanks for the chat! ► (... I have a good ear, but a bad voice (I can only do a parody), so I rarely sing even for myself, but my favorite vocalists like Yannis make me sing openly and loudly from time to time, and not just sing along sometimes to favorite compositions; now I know something about his singing technique).
I'm a bit late to the party, but I will touch on something that Yannis mentioned in regard to metal singers. Tony (Anthony) Martin's time with Black Sabbath is very underrated; me personally I always enjoyed the album 'Tyr', but 'Headless Cross' is I'd argue what comes to mind to most in regards to Martin. It is a pity that many didn't really enjoy that time of Sabbath.
Awesome! BIB is something else, so thanks for this piece. But hey, Anna, do us metal heads a favor and introduce VIrgin Steele to the wider audience. You won't regret. Burning of Rome, a masterpiece, but Emalaith is certainly a song for more classical music taste. They have a bunch of epicness in delivery. Except their weird music videos. Anyway, Virgin Steele! And Keep great videos coming, Anna and everyone -Rock on \m/
Yeah, David Feinstein had such a great voice, and his sister was an opera singer. He is awesome in Noble Savage song and album and in songs like The Redeemer, I am The One from Guardians Of The Flame era.
I would love to see this interview where Anna is sitting on Yannis chair. I have a feeling that is as insightful and entertaining as this is. When can we interview you Anna? 🥰
This interview is fascinating for me! I'm a German, who has studied Finnish for 5 years and Ancient Greek for 2 years. I feel Yannis and his pain with the Finnish language! 😅❤ Ole vaikeaa joskus, mutta sä voit tehdä sen! 😉
I bet it is hahah! I think a lot of ppl studying Finnish language can relate to Yannis!
His mustache is short but I wonder if it was longer recently? He kept trying to grab or twist it!!! Also seemed hyper. Hands always moving, taking deep breaths. Even towards the end his feet were jumpy. Strange interview but interesting and I do like the band and his singing. Ty Anna.
He had a beard when filming the music video for "Blind and Frozen" at least! Good observation! ... And he had like three cups of coffee prior filming this so no wonder he was fidgety hahah
Hi Anna, i'm italian (sardinan actually), I was surprised about my interset in yours reactions, you speak a language really difficult that of course I dont understand at all, yes with subtitles but i found my self waching also the past videos witout subs. There was somentig special in yours exprexions, I felt that your feeling were different from other "reactionist", and there it is, you are a synesthete, you see the sonar waves🤩. A lot of love and hugs buatiful creature.🎈
Great interview but it seemed like it only started to fly around 30 min mark so for the next interview, reserve at least 90 minutes for the actual interview in your schedule so you can keep it flying as long as possible. (And it seems that Yannis was moving so much that the mic placement should be a bit different to avoid getting the mic to touch his hands or chin during the interview. Maybe hang it a bit lower on his chest using a safety pin or something like that?)
Hi! I asked him and he said "I do (coaching) but rarely. It's hard to keep up with the touring schedule, but I could take one person I think. I just don't think I'm too affordable nowadays lol" 😂 He is a very inspiring coach to say the least and totally worth every penny he asks for his coaching so if you still want to contact him you can shoot him a message through IG to start with (yannispapadopoulos_official)! Let me know if you need more help in contacting him. ☺️
lmao the finnish rant at the start xD I actually think Finnish has less of those problems than other languages, but my bigger issue was that you have literally no reference to remember words by. Like...every language in the world says some form of "mama", finns say "äiti", every language has some form of "telephone" or "telefon", finns say "puhelin". And the words are so random you can't for example make a pun in english with part of the word to remember it by. No, you just have to burn in your brain that fucking syntymäpäivä is a birthday. I've never studied spanish in my life but so many words are similar to something else I can often understand written spanish. I never studied swedish, but I speak german and I can read a lot of swedish labels on foods at the supermarket just with that. I studied finnish for 2 years now and I still struggle because remembering the damn words feels like memorizing a randomized alphabet soup
