Empire Strikes Back had no CGI at all, literally everything was practical effects (which is part of the reason that movie was the best of the three btw). New Hope and Return of the Jedi had very limited CGI during the briefing scenes before (spoilers ahead!) blowing up the Death Star. Holiday Special most likely had no CGI either, all practical (and very bad) effects. When Lucas decided to re-release the original trilogy in the late 90s he added alot of CGI crap. The edges on the snow look same as fs19. I appreciate what realimus modding brought us for 19 but thought since Giants are a big gaming company they would get these types of details right.

You really hate to see it. I've been hyped for this game ever since announcement and all during FarmCon, but now I'm worried. I see a lot of people saying that the game is still in development and that it is wrong of us to assume the worst, but the sad reality is that launch is 3 months away. Anything that is core to the game should already be in the game and these last months should be polishing and bug testing. I hate to compare Giants to other game developers but I see a repeat of CDPR and their fiasco of a game. If the game is anything like video, I'm just going to assume they took FS19 and slapped FS22 on it with somehow worse graphics and textures. Crossing my fingers that the video was compressed making the graphics and textures look the way they look.
Looks great aside from the graphics, tractors and implements looked more like plastic, it just looked super cartoony, hopefully the game doesn’t actually look this appalling
It's way to late for them to redesign the graphics now with the release in just a few months doubt anything will change after nearly 3years of development now the graphics are pretty much locked in
honestly, the graphics look the same, if not worse than fs19. I've heard it more in the fs community; when are we getting real ground responses? and mud? Like they have in spintires. Now that's something I would really enjoy. That you have to watch out in the field for wet spots and possibly that the amount of rain impacts the yield you would get. And that the rain impacts the ground, like more rain equals more mud and a higher chance of getting stuck. And now a cultivator only affects the graphics of the soil. I would like it if you could literally see the ground breaking because you pull a cultivator through it. And when you drive over your cultivated area of land, you compress the soil and you can see the tracks of the tractor. And they stay for forever, like they have in spintires. And that you have something like soil structure, that you have to have a certain soil structure to plant a certain crop. (the soil gets finer when cultivating. And for a certain crop, the soil needs to be fine). And the deeper you work in the soil, the more hp it needs of your tractor and the deeper the soil gets worked is needed for crop.
Have you tried cattle and crops professional farmer that has ground deformation built into the game and a lot of other stuff that giants should have put into their games CnC is buggy yes but it's still being developed
@@jannes6974 Then you know that muddy spots are no fun. I haven't tried a farming game yet that has dynamic soil it isn't very good. Yes it looks nice in mudrunner, but it has yet to convince me that it's worth the hassle in a farming game. And the build in mud mod in some maps aren't that enjoyable.

@@theclaasicalfarmer842 That's a real fucking shame because any equipment in the game can be added with mods. We're just paying for a update now, not a new game.
Remember that, what you are saying now has been going on for years. People have been complaining about graphics since farm sim 17 and how similar they look to the previous game. And then when they get the game they are presently surprised about how much better it looks compared to the previous game. For example look between the graphics of farming simulator 15, 17, 19, and then I would recommend watching the gameplay footage of FS22. They all look very different from their previous incarnation. It is almost tradition to hate the new graphics until people get a better look at them in game.
@@winkletown8828 I would argue that, I mean if you have watched the Gameplay from Farmcon, the game looks almost twices as good as FS19. Honestly I think the game is going to be incredible. Well, first of all, the graphics. Compare the graphics to this gameplay trailer from BF 2042 a game releasing a month prior FS 22: ruclips.net/video/WomAGoEh-Ss/видео.html Also, that video is longer, has better transitions/editing, better sound. It's just a better gameplay trailer. However, it is also a totally different genre and it has a totally different budget. And the thing is though, it is just a trailer. It's all about the actual gameplay. But the graphics, the graphics are definitely underwhelming for a 40 euro 2021 game :/
Seriously, other developers are using Unreal Engine to create as real to life as possible graphics, but Giants are sticking with their own cartoon style graphics engine? I give up, I won't be purchasing this version.
You could never make a game like Farm Sim on the Unreal engine, no way would Unreal support as many dynamic physics objects like the Giants engine does, and the entire system for crops, etc is out of the question. If those weren't enough nails in the coffin, modding for Unreal would be the equivalent of a shade tree mechanic trying to do an engine swap on a Bugatti Veyron, compared to how easy it is for people to the mod the Giants engine. Cattle and Crops went bankrupt because the average user couldn't mod it, farming simulation games rely on their modding community, Giants knows this, which is why we have access to all in game assets to reference and even take pieces from, they even pay you per download for mods on the ingame mod hub. Giants is doing the best they can with the technology and budget they have, their biggest mistake for FS22 however was not leaving last gen consoles in the dust.
So unfortunate that graphic is still so damn awful, if only people wouldn't buy this to show Giant Software they have to work harder and actually use money that we gave them.
I hope Giants are listening to their fans. I've supported this game every year since 08, but I won't be buying this time. I’m not too concerned about the graphics as they look different throughout this trailer depending on what is being shown. The more zoomed in parts, when showing off the wood chipper for example, look a lot darker and less cartooney. So i’m guessing (hoping) that they’ve put a filter/shader on this trailer to make everything stand out. The one issue I do have is how that bale comes out of the back of the small Massey baler. Why is it flopping around like that? Please let them have improved the bale physics for this game, as they’re one of the best things to do but the physics are pretty terrible. I was just looking at the FS22 trailer then I started reading the comments. Just page after page of negativity, I didn't see one single positive comment, not even in the replies I looked at. I saw the baler and I had my hopes up but the rest was mediocre. Even the Rocky Fields mod for FS19 looks much better than the stones they added in FS22. I started in FS15 enjoyed it and advanced to FS17 then to FS19 and they were all great but after three years for development I expected better for FS22. At this point I'll wait till release and see what the game has then I might buy it but at this point I'll stick to FS19. These tidbit videos seem to be more damaging to the hype then improving it. I think Giants should take a step back and re-evaluate their goals.
The graphics on mobile games have caught up with this a long time ago, unfortunately :( Everything looks just flat - just like i had drawn it myself. Well, that's the way it is without competition in this genre i guess. Only disappointed after 3 years of development that is. Hopefully the gameplay is improved enough to keep me interested! In a game where the landscape is 90% of the game i can for sure say i'm not impressed with this years installment.
I would like if Giants finally give up on their crappy engine and use Unreal or Unity. Performance and Graphics with these engines are lightyears ahead and would support massive maps. Farming Simulator has literally become a cashgrab at this point. I don't see a future for FS, if they stick to their engine...
for the first time i actually wanted to buy FS (never played it before). But this quickly changed when i saw this video. what on earth were you thinking??
I would say the FS19 graphics look better than this FS22. It is so flat and without any life in it. After 3 years of development and at this price point (which increase from the FS19) It isn't really worth the upgrade from FS19. I am pre-ordered it just because I am fan of the game but as a new player to the franchise I would stay with the FS19 with the amount of mods and maps (with better lighting) it offers. All in all I am quite disappointed with the result, but hopefully it will not ruin the experience with hours and hours of gameplay with my friends.
The graphics isn't what is annoying me the way that its how its everyone else's problem. Its the fact that they had longer to make this game, and they haven't improved critical game engine related things that modders can not do. Theres only so much modders can mod until they reach a point where its only the developers who can for example, create dynamic ground, improved physics and optimization, things we want. For example they added gear shifting and new sounds. That is the one positive example of something they added that is actually groundbreaking and significant. The other features not really. They have been stuck with this engine forever and they eventually will reach a point where they won't be able to push it any further to the point that they will have to add the things people have been wanting forever. Like better physics, dynamic ground etc. At this point its like a brand simulator too. Because as much as its nice to have this much in game brands, its all moddable and not significant enough in my opinion... Its almost like giants just mod their own game themselves lol ... not to mention that the price is more expensive...

And the physics of the snow doesn't seem much different than in the Season Mod in FS19... the anticipation is slightly flattened now.
I'm really thinking about my order right now.
I think they added filters to the video. In the pictures, the game's graphics is better.
The edges on the snow look same as fs19.
I appreciate what realimus modding brought us for 19 but thought since Giants are a big gaming company they would get these types of details right.
Thought exactly the same. FS is not an arcade game which needs oversaturated tones, colours and textures. And for the snow physics, I'm totally with you... but let's see what comes out in the end.
Yeah personally i think the FS19 Graphics look better.
When you see the pricing its even more disappointing. They charge around 40 Bucks for the basegame and another 40 for the "season pass".
No game in 2021 should have graphics like this...
fs22 with flat ground, no dirt n dynamic terrain, dead drivers, dead cows, and others u can tell me. 3 years of development? seems like weeks of deadline they got to finish or get fired lol.
It looks much different in RUclips because of how RUclips messes up vids. When i was in farm con or whatever it was i got to play the game a bit and it was shockingly beautiful
They have announced a few days ago that they took the feedback from these videos and Improved the graphics. As well as other things such as the way sorghum is harvested and adjustable season lengths.
Idc about graphics this is fine play FH5 for graphics i just want to farm en there is alot new.
Maibe lets wait till its relased
3 years of development just to release more DLCs for fs19 and then make 3 season passes for fs22 which probably won't change much and have a crazy price, nice
I don't even believe in FS24 or 25 I give up, they will never change.

@@CattoGD this is a good theory but who knows
Hope so
Looks great aside from the graphics, tractors and implements looked more like plastic, it just looked super cartoony, hopefully the game doesn’t actually look this appalling
Hahaha. They need to start actually trying
It's way to late for them to redesign the graphics now with the release in just a few months doubt anything will change after nearly 3years of development now the graphics are pretty much locked in
On the even number they don’t put as much effort in to making it it’s aimed more for like 5 year olds on the even numbers
@@jackcolli8113 so your saying fs for pc will never look better than 19 just because they will now come out on even years?
honestly, the graphics look the same, if not worse than fs19.
Easy. Go to a farm and get a job there. Then you'll get everything you asked for.

Well, first of all, the graphics. Compare the graphics to this gameplay trailer from BF 2042 a game releasing a month prior FS 22: ruclips.net/video/WomAGoEh-Ss/видео.html
Also, that video is longer, has better transitions/editing, better sound.

I wish I was able to love this comment rather than just like it.
for the first time i actually wanted to buy FS (never played it before).
Welcome back to fs19 with mods
Nothing has changed since 2011.
And yet you keep charging more and more for the game.
ngl i thought it would be a bit better
I hope there's a FS19 shader mod. I like the gritty, realistic look more than the cartoony one.
Wow ... For the Year 1 Season pass once again the price of the game, not much of it a bit ?!
Rocks in the Farming Simulator 22😁😁😁
Its almost like giants just mod their own game themselves lol ...
not to mention that the price is more expensive...
a PBR material expert needs to be working there urgently, lack of ambient occlusion, normal, glossines, graphics are from 2010, or change to another engine
But... But... The graphics? We are going Into 2022 😭
Farming Simulator 22: Fisher-Price Edition
Awesome gameplay trailer! Wild animals?
Was that for the trailer or is there really any game in the game?
I think we have to be surprised.
It will probably be in-game because its a gameplay trailer. Just my thinking tho.
seriously you guys gotta give it a filter or something that makes the colors way less flashy
